Guevara served under then Head Coach Marsha Reall from 1985-86 before taking an assistant coaching position at Michigan State. Ball State finished 13-14, 9-9 in the MAC that season. The Lone Hoosier Sophomore Aleah Swary is the lone Chippewa not from the mitten state and hails from Fort Wayne, Ind. Last time out in Muncie, Swary had herself a night scoring a career-high 17 points. Coming into the night, Swary had just nine points on the season. But she converted six of her 16 shots -- five from three-point range -- and added four rebounds. Hudson Heroes Fans inside McGuirk Arena held their collective breath Saturday awaiting the result of a layup that left the fingertips of freshman Presley Hudson a fraction of a second before the final buzzer sounded. Receiving the inbound pass, down by one, near the 3-point line with just three seconds left, Hudson drove to the basket and layed it up. It rolled around and fell through, lifting the Central Michigan women s basketball team to a dramatic 76-75 victory over Bowling Green in a Mid-American Conference battle. Making it Reyna Reyna Frost continued her dominant performance for the Chippewas scoring a team-high 4 points Saturday against Bowling Green. The freshman went 10-of-17 from the floor and pulled down six boards. Buckets for Breen Sophomore Cassie Breen hit four triples on Saturday, after coming back from appendicitis, which put her tied for ninth all-time in single season triples made. Breen has recorded a team-best 63 3-pointers on the season. The Streak is Six The Chippewas boast the largest win streak in the MAC, winning six straight games. On the Road Again The Chippewas hit the road for two-straight away games starting with Ball State on Wednesday and Northern Illinois on Saturday. CMU hasn t been on the road for two-straight since the Ohio (Jan. 16) and Miami (Jan. 0) matchups. The Chippewas have only suffered two conference losses this season, both coming on the road. Building Tinara Moore has swatted her way into the record books, with her 39 blocks, and counting, during the season. Moore s 39 blocks is tied for eighth-best in a single season. Anna Skufca (003-07) holds the single season record of 6 blocks. Offensive Weapons Central Michigan has featured seven different high scorers this season. Presley Hudson, Tinara Moore, Jewel Cotton, Cassie Breen, Da Jourie Turner Reyna Frost and Jasmine Harris have all led the Chippewas at least one game in scoring. West Side Story With seven regular season games remaining, the Chippewas are 15-7 overall with a 9- mark in league play, putting them atop the MAC West standings. The Chippewas are riding a six-game win streak and have won 11 of their last 14 heading into Wednesday s game. News and Notes Making History Sophomore Tinara Moore tied the NCAA record Saturday against Akron (1/9) becoming just the second player to go 16-of-16 from the floor, the first time it s happened since 1988. Her perfect 16 buckets is tied for the most made in a perfect game. Moore finished with 35 points and 0 boards in CMU s 97-77 win over Akron. Show Us Moore Moore became the first player in CMU women s basketball history to finish 100 percent from the field (with at least eight attempts), and set a MAC record, surpassing a 14-for-14 performance by Ball State s Emma Jones in 1985. Moore leads the Chippewas in rebounding (9.8 per game), blocks (39) and field goal percentage (.600). She ranks third on the team in scoring (1.5), and ranks first in the MAC during conference play in rebounding (11.9) and second in field goal percentage (.658), sinking the second-most field goals so far this season (73) in conference play. Im-PRES-sive Presley Freshman Presley Hudson has made a statement to begin her Chippewa career. The Wayland, Mich. native is averaging 15.0 ppg to lead the Chippewas and puts her ninth in the conference. She is the only freshman within the top in scoring in the MAC. Hudson currently sits fifth in the country in free throw percentage (90.0), going 63-of-70 from the line. NCAA Record The Chippewas set a NCAA record Sunday, Nov. 15 against Oakland University scoring 45 points in the first quarter. The 45 points is the most in the ten minute span since women s basketball converted from halves to quarters this season. The next closest is 39 points in one quarter which was accomplished by Long Beach St., Robert Morris, Morehead State and Seton Hall. New Year, New Team The Chippewas have a new, youthful squad that features a combined 10 freshmen and sophomores. All five sophomores made at least two starts last season, the most among any MAC institution. In 013, Guevara led the Chippewas to their first MAC Tournament title and first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 1984. CMU also won its first West Division title in 014. Michigan Head Coach 004-07...Auburn Assistant Coach 007-present...Central Michigan Head Coach Guevara followed up the MAC Tournament title with the program s first MAC West title and a 16-win conference season, the second most conference victories in program history in 014. During her time with the Chippewas Guevara has compiled 130 wins in the last eight seasons, including four consecutive seasons of at least 0 wins from 011-14. Her 130 wins at CMU are already second-most in program history, while her 60-54 victory at Miami (Oh) on January 14, 015 marked career victory No. 50. Guevara has guided 1 All-MAC selections, including two-time first-team selection Crystal Bradford. Bradford also became the program s first MAC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in 014. In 015, Bradford was selected seventh overall in the WNBA draft by the L.A. Sparks. Her first round pick made her the highest ever selection in the MAC and first ever in program history. Also among the honors received under Guevara s tenure are two MAC Freshman of the Year honors, three MAC Sixth Players of the Year awards and six MAC All-Freshman selections, as well as the program s second MAC Tournament MVP in Crystal Bradford. Bradford is also the only player in program history to earn WBCA Region 4 All-American nominee honors, claiming the distinction in both 01-13 and 013-14. In addition, 10 players have joined CMU s 1,000-point club under Guevara, five of whom currently rank in the program s top 10 in career scoring. In 014 Bradford, Taylor Johnson, Niki DiGuilio and Jessica Green appeared in the 1,000-point club, making CMU just the 1th program in NCAA history to feature four 1,000-point scorers on the same roster. Other highlights during Guevara s tenure include setting a single-game attendance record with 5,195 fans against Georgetown on Nov. 5, 010, defeating the highest ranked team in program history, No. 1/14 Purdue on Dec. 11, 011, an upset of No. 3 Louisville on Dec., 010, both the final win in Rose Center and the first win at McGuirk Arena, back-to-back trips to the MAC Tournament and the first title since 1984, four-straight 0-win seasons and four-straight postseason appearances. The Chippewas faced the toughest non-conference schedule in the country in 013-14, including The Sue Guevara File Years School Record MAC Record (finish) 1996-1997 Michigan 15-11 7-9 (t-8th) 1997-1998 Michigan 19-10 10-6 (t-3rd) 1998-1999 Michigan 18-1 8-8 (t-6th) 1999-000 Michigan -8 13-3 (nd) 000-001 Michigan 19-1 10-6 (5th) 001-00 Michigan 17-13 6-10 (t-9th) 00-003 Michigan 13-16 3-13 (t-10th) 007-008 Central Michigan 7- -13 (6th West) 008-009 Central Michigan 18-14 9-7 (4th West) 009-010 Central Michigan 1-18 8-8 (3rd West) 010-011 Central Michigan 0-11 11-5 (nd West) 011-01 Central Michigan 0-16 8-8 (3rd West) 01-013 Central Michigan 1-1 1-4 (3rd West) 013-014 Central Michigan 0-1 16- (1st West) 014-015 Central Michigan 13-18 7-11 (6th West) Game Notes - 19 Twitter @CMUWBBALL

10 games against teams that played in the 01-13 postseason and four games versus teams ranked in the top 5. CMU played No. Duke at the Paradise Jam and visited No. 7 Kentucky, No. 4 Notre Dame and No. 17 Purdue during the regular season. CMU s non-conference schedule prepared it for a Mid-American Conference season in which it started 1-0 and finished 16- to claim the first MAC West title in program history. In 01-13, the Chippewas faced the third-toughest non-conference schedule in the country, taking on likes of No. 5 Notre Dame, Purdue, Green Bay twice, St. Joseph s and South Dakota State. The non-conference schedule prepared the Chippewas for MAC play where they started 8-0 for their best start since the 1983-84 campaign. During the 011-1 season, Guevara s team went on a seven-game win streak, the longest since the 1987-88, to make an appearance in the MAC Tournament championship game. CMU came within 1.5 seconds of advancing to the NCAA Tournament, but No. seed Eastern Michigan scored a layup just before time expired to claim the conference title. The 010-11 0-win campaign marked the program s best season since 1990-91 (1-8). The 10.5-game improvement in 008-09 (18-14) from Guevara s first season is the third-largest in MAC history. Prior to CMU, Guevara served as an assistant coach at Auburn for three seasons under Nell Fortner, head coach of the gold medal winning 1998 World Championship and 000 Olympic teams.
