Double points awarded for members This show is a qualifier for The National Welsh Championship Show 2018 to be held on August 5th 2018 at the Three Counties Showground Malvern New for 2018 Qualifiers for the South West Pony Association Championships to be held at the David Broome Event Centre August 30th to September 2nd 2018 Please note that whilst all efforts will be made to announce classes in advance it is the competitor s responsibility to be in the ring for their class on time. RULES 1 The Committee does not accept any responsibility for any accident, theft, loss, damage or injury to any person, animal or property at the show howsoever caused 2 Mounted Exhibitors and In-hand Exhibitors must adhere to horse walks & riding areas 3 Any accidents or injuries should be reported immediately to the secretary s tent where first aid will be available 4 Riders of horses must wear hats conforming to relevant British Standard for the activity 5 Exhibitors should ensure they are adequately covered by Third Party Insurance. Each exhibitor shall be solely responsible for consequences of loss or damage to or arising from any animal and indemnify WBC officials, agents, invitees and show ground owners against all liabilities, damages, action, claims proceedings, costs and/or expenses in relation to/arising from his/her entries at the show. 6 Please take all rubbish home. Competitors must not empty manure from lorries/trailers onto the show field 7 The judges decision is final 8 Any objection must be lodged with the secretary within 15 minutes of the end of the class together with a deposit of 10, returnable if the objection is upheld 9 The committee cannot be held responsible for any error in schedule/time and reserve the right to amend the same 10 At the discretion of the show committee classes may be split or combined according to the number of entries 11 Handlers of stallions and colts (excluding foals) competing in the In Hand classes must have attained their 14th birthday before 1st January in the current year 12 Handlers aged 14 years and under, of ponies in In-Hand classes must wear correctly secured skull/riding hat that meets the correct Entry Fees Entries by May 29 th 2018 6- Members 8 Non Members Entries on day 10 Novelty Classes 3 per class or 5 classes for 10

In the event of either having previously qualified the qualification will pass to the 2 nd reserve in the championship. Class 5 Section B Yearling, Colt, Filly or Gelding. * Class 6 Section B 2/3 year old, Colt, Filly or Gelding. * Class 7 Section B Mare (with or without foal), 4 year old or over.* Class 8 Section B Stallion, 4 year old or over. * Championship (Classes 5 8) Both the Champion and Reserve Champion Section B will qualify for the National Brightwells Section B In Hand Championship. In the event of either having previously qualified the qualification will pass to the 2 nd reserve in the championship. In the event of either having previously qualified the qualification will pass to the 2 nd reserve in the championship.

Class 13 Section D Yearling, Colt, Filly or Gelding. * Class 14 Section D 2/3 year old, Colt, Filly or Gelding. * Class 15 Section D Mare (with or without foal), 4 year old or over. * Class 16 Section D Stallion, 4 year old or over. * Championship (Classes 13 16) Both the Champion and Reserve Champion Section D will qualify for the National Brightwells Section D In Hand Championship. In the event of either having previously qualified the qualification will pass to the 2 nd reserve in the championship. Class 17 Best In Hand Gelding Welsh Sec A, B, C, D 4 years old and over * The winner of this class will qualify for the National Welsh Sarum Investments Ltd Gelding Championship. Classes 1 17 are qualifiers for the South West Pony Association M&M In Hand The Champion in each section and the winner of class 17 will go forward to the Overall Welsh Championship Champion 50 Reserve 25 Ring 1 (Small Indoor Lower) School Not Before 1pm Judge Ms Hannah Parr Class 18 Best Shetland Pony 1/2/3 year old, Colt, Filly or Gelding. * Class 19 Best Shetland Pony Mare or Gelding, 4 year old or over to be shown in hand. * Class 20 Best Shetland Pony Stallion, 4 year old or over. Must hold either a Shetland Pony Stud Book Society Licence or a Ministry of Agriculture Licence. * Championship (Classes 18-20) Champion and Reserve will go forward to the In Hand Championship Classes 18 20 are qualifiers for the South West Pony Association M&M In Hand

Class 21 Best Part Bred Welsh Horse or Pony in Hand, 1, 2, or 3 year old, Colt, Filly or Gelding. * The highest placed gelding will qualify for the National Welsh Sarum Investments Ltd Gelding Championship. Class 22 Best Part Bred Welsh Horse or Pony In Hand, 4 year old or over. * The highest placed gelding will qualify for the National Welsh Sarum Investments Ltd Gelding Championship. Classes 21 22 are qualifiers for the South West Pony Association M&M Part bred In Hand and the 2 highest placed registered WPB ponies under 148 cm and the 2 Horses over 148cm will qualify for the National Brightwells WPBR In Hand Championship. Class 23 Best Piebald, Skewbald, Spotted, Coloured Horse or Pony * 4 year old or over to be shown in hand. Class 24 Best Piebald, Skewbald, Spotted, Coloured Horse or Pony * Colt, Filly or Gelding, 1, 2 or 3 year old, to be shown in hand. Class 25 - Best Palomino to be shown in hand. * Classes 23 25 are qualifiers for the South West Pony AssociationColoured In Hand Class 26- Best Veteran to be shown in hand. * Class 26 is a qualifier for the South West Pony Association Veteran In Hand Championship Classes 21 26 + Shetland Champion and Reserve Champion 50 Reserve 25 Ring 2 (Large Indoor School) 9am Judge Ms Hannah Parr Class 27 - Mountain & Moorland Open Leading Rein Pony *

Registered Pure Bred Mare or Gelding, 4 year old or over, not exceeding 122cm. Riders not to have attained their 9 th birthday before 1 st January in the current year. This class is a qualifier for the South West Pony Association M&M LR Championship (Please see qualifying rules). The 2 highest placed Welsh Section A and B ponies will also qualify for the Brynseison Lead Rein Championship. Class 28 - Mountain & Moorland Open First Ridden Pony * Registered Pure Bred Mare or Gelding, not exceeding 128cm. Riders not to have attained their 12 th birthday before 1 st January in the current year. This class is a qualifier for the South West Pony Association M&M FR Championship (Please see qualifying rules). The 2 highest placed Welsh Section A and B ponies will also qualify for the Brynseison First Ridden Championship, Mountain & Moorland Mini Championship Open to ponies that have been placed 1 st or 2 nd in the Leading Rein and First Ridden Classes. Champion and Reserve will go forward to the Overall M&M Ridden Championship Class 29 - Mountain & Moorland Open Small Breeds Ridden Class. * Registered Pure Bred Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland and Welsh Section A and B Ponies, 4 year old or over. Riders any age. Riders of stallions must have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January of the current year. Section A and B ponies will qualify for the National Brynseison Section A and B Ridden Championship. In the event of either having previously qualified the qualification will pass to the next eligible pony. Class 30 - Mountain & Moorland Open Large Breeds Ridden Class. * Registered Pure Bred Welsh Section C & D, New Forest, Connemara, Fells, Dales and Highland Ponies, 4 year old or over. Riders of stallions must have attained their 14th birthday before 1st January of the current year. The 2 highest placed Section C and D ponies will qualify for the National Brynseison Section C and D Ridden Championship. In the event of either having previously qualified the qualification will pass to the next eligible pony. Classes 29 and 30 are a qualifier for the South West Pony Association M&M Ridden Mountain and Moorland Ridden Championship Open to ponies that have been placed 1 st or 2 nd in Classes 29 30 + Mountain Moorland Mini Champion and Reserve. Champion 50 Reserve 25

This class is a qualifier for the South West Pony Association Open LR Championship (Please see qualifying rules) and the 2 highest placed registered WPB ponies will qualify for the National Welsh Greenlands Insurance Ridden WPBR Championship Class 32 - Open First Ridden Pony * Mare or Gelding, 4 year old or over, not exceeding 122cm. Riders not to have attained their 10 th birthday before 1 st January in the current year. This class is a qualifier for the South West Pony Association Open FR Championship (Please see qualifying rules) and the 2 highest placed registered WPB ponies will qualify for the National Welsh Greenlands Insurance Ridden WPBR Championship. Class 33 Open Lead Rein Pony of Show Hunter Type * Mare or Gelding, 4 year old or over, not exceeding 122cm. Riders not to have attained their 9 th birthday before 1 st January in the current year. This class is a qualifier for the South West Pony Association SHP LR Championship (Please see qualifying rules) and the 2 highest placed registered WPB ponies will qualify for the National Welsh Greenlands Insurance Ridden WPBR Championship.. Mini Show/SHP Pony Championship Open to ponies that have been placed 1 st or 2 nd in the First Ridden, Leading Rein and Show Hunter Lead Rein Classes only. Champion and Reserve will go forward to the Ridden Championship Class 34 - Mixed Height Open Show Pony. * Mare or Gelding, 4 year old or over, not exceeding 148cm. Riders must be the correct age for the height of the pony they ride. This class is a qualifier for the South West Pony Show Pony Ridden Championship (Please see qualifying rules) Class 35 Mixed Height Open Pony of Show Hunter Type. * Mare or Gelding, 4 year old or over, not exceeding 153cm. Riders must be the correct age for the height of the pony they ride

This class is a qualifier for the South West Pony Veteran Ridden Championship (Please see qualifying rules) Class 37 - Best Welsh and or Arab Part Bred (No lead reins permitted). * Riders to be the correct age for the height of the pony they ride. This class is a qualifier for the South West Pony Arab Ridden Championship (Please see qualifying rules) and the 2 highest placed Welsh Part Bred Ponies will qualify for the National WPBR Greenlands Insurance Ridden Championship. Show Pony/Hunter Pony Championship Open to ponies that have been placed 1 st or 2 nd in classes 34-35 + Champion and Reserve Mini Champions Champion 50 Reserve 25 Ring 2 (Large Indoor School) Not before 1pm Judge Ms Laura Grey Class 38 Best Hunter. * Mare or Gelding, 4 year old or over, exceeding 148cm to be ridden This class is a qualifier for the South West Pony Hunters Ridden Championship (Please see qualifying rules) Class 39 Best Riding Cob. * Exceeding 148cm but not exceeding 155cm. to be ridden This class is a qualifier for the South West Pony Show Cob Ridden Championship (Please see qualifying rules)

Class 40 Best Piebald or Skewbald, Coloured Horse (to include Palamino, Dun and Cremello) * 4 year old or over to be ridden This class is a qualifier for the South West Pony Coloured Ridden Championship (Please see qualifying rules) Class 41 Best Riding Horse. * 4 year old or over, exceeding 148cm. This class is a qualifier for the South West Pony Hack/Riding Horse Ridden. Class 42 - Best Racehorse to Riding Horse * 4 year old or over, exceeding 155cm, riders to be 15 years or over on the 1 st January in the current year. Horses must compete under original name registered at Wetherbys and used while in training. Horses be registered in Wetherbys main stud book and a copy of the passport must be supplied to the Show Secretary. Classes to be judged in a Riding Horse format and may be ridden or required to give an individual show or both. Must be plaited, no stallions. This class is a qualifier for the South West Pony Show X Race Horse Ridden Championship (Classes 38 42) Champion 50 Reserve 25 Novelty Classes will take place in the first available ring Approx. 2.30pm Judge Mr David Thomas Class 43 - Best Young Handler, Age 7 to 11 years. * Class 44 - Best Young Handler, Age 12 to 15 years. * Classes 43 and 44 are qualifiers for the South West Pony Young Handler Championship (Please see qualifying rules) Class 45 - Best turned out Horse or Pony. Riders any age.

Class 46 Pony with the nicest tail. Class 47 Pony with the prettiest face. Class 48 Pony with the loveliest eyes. Class 49 Pony the judge would most like to take home. Class 50 Best Thelwell look alike. Class 51 Best Fancy dress. South West Pony Association Championships Qualifying Rules This show is a qualifier for the South West Pony Association Championships to be held on 30 August 2 September 2018, at The David Broome Event Centre, Crick, Monmouthshire. NP26 5XP To qualify for the Championships: 1. Enter one of the qualifying classes [marked with a *] 2. Be one of the two highest placed exhibits not already qualified within the first four and receive a qualification card. 3. Complete the entry form on the qualification card. 4. Register on-line at www.showingscene.com within 14 days of qualification 5. Upload this card using our on-line management system at www.showingscene.com Please Note: Registration fee for 2018 is 30 to include all members of the family and equines owned by the family.
