18 This show is affiliated to the SHB of Great Britain. Rules as per the 2016 handbook. The organisers of the show have taken reasonable precau ons to ensure the Health & Safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effec ve, everyone must take all reasonable precau ons to avoid & prevent accidents occurring & must obey the instruc ons of the organisers and all the Officials & Stewards. Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain require all exhibits in the Hunter Classes to be registered. Numbers to be stated on entry forms. All classes are subject to SHB (GB) Regula ons. Any horse taking part will be liable for dope tes ng. hats must be worn. Owners and riders must be current members of SHB (GB). Show Hunters must be registered in their correct weight class, but if a Judge considers an animal to be up to more than the specified weight he will transfer it to a higher weight class. If a horse s registered weight is altered a er the closing date of entries, it must s ll appear in the class for which it is entered and the revised registra on cer ficate must be shown to the Judge and his permission sought to appear in the higher weight class. If a horse changes ownership a er the closing date of entries, it must be re-registered in the name of the new owner before it is eligible to be shown, although it may not be possible to change the details printed in the catalogue. Day Ticket = 35 (this en tles compe tors to compete at a maximum of 2 show s in the year it covers owner and rider membership together with horse registra on for that show). If the class is a qualifying class for RIHS, in order for the qualifica on to be valid, applica on for full owner/rider membership and horse registra on must be received in the SHB(GB) office within 14 days. Classes 45, 46 & 48-52 are qualifying events for the Royal Interna onal Horse Show. The two highest placed horses in the Lightweight, Middleweight, Heavyweight, Small and Ladies (side saddle) Classes will qualify to enter at the RIHS. No horse lower than second will qualify. AMATEUR STATUS: A person is an amateur for showing purposes when showing ridden hunters if she or he does not: a) Engage in livery, buying, selling, dealing or hiring horses as a means of deriving a main source of income since 1st January 2017 b) Accept remunera on whether it be monetary or goods in kind for employment in connec on with horses in a racing, showing, livery stables or riding school. (Instruc on at Pony Club or Riding Clubs excepted) since 1st January 2017 c) Show a horse owned or sponsored by a company or commercial form or a horse for which his or her immediate family accepts livery or training charges from a person outside the immediate concern since 1st January 2017 d) Show a horse which a professional rider has ridden in any ridden hunter or ridden Sport Horse class during the current year, with the excep on of working hunter classes & ladies hunter classes unless the horse has subsequently re-registered under new ownership. e) Show a horse which is exhibited by a professional rider at the same show (except in a working hunter class on the same day). f) An amateur working hunter may not be ridden by a professional rider in a working hunter class on the same day. Professional show persons may not enter the Amateur ring whilst the class is in progress. A professional show person is another term for a professional producer and as such a professional groom who works for a producer can enter the ring to groom. g) A professional rider must not ride or exercise an amateur s horse on the day it is compe ng in amateur classes. For Novice Hunters the rule states. not having won a prize of 60 or a total of 200. Amateur Home Produced Horses which are either stabled at home or in a D.I.Y yard and which since 1 st January 2018 have not been shown by a professional during the current season or stabled in a professional yard at any me in 2018. Must be ridden by an Amateur. This does not exclude the Amateur Owner Home Produced riders having lessons at any me with an instructor, providing the horse remains stabled at home or in a D.I.Y yard. Working Hunters Grade A Showjumpers and Advanced Event Horses are not eligible to enter. Any horsewhich has qualified as a Grade A Show Jumper or Advanced Event Horse as at 1 January in the current year is not eligible to compete in Working Hunter Classes. The maximum total points available is 100. This is made up of: Jumping points = Max 40 points, Style & Presence whilst Jumping = Max 20 points, Ride/Manners = Max 20 points, Conforma on = Max 20 points. Fences should have a natural appearance and not be easily dislodged. The manner of going to be taken into account. No change of rider or tack is allowed (unless a horse is ridden under side-saddle, in which case, in order to allow the judge to ride, the saddle may be changed for the riding phase only). A rider can ride up to two horses in the jumping phase but then must select only one horse to take forward into the ride and conforma on sec on if so required (no change of rider is allowed). No hind boots or bandages of any descrip on are allowed in the collec ng ring, warm up or in the actual class. On comple on of the jumping phase, ALL CLEAR ROUNDS and any other horses the judge may require should be asked to return to the ring. If a horse posi vely stops, ceases to go forwards at any me during its jumping round, or turns its quarters to a fence, or has a complete turnaround these cons tute refusals. If a horse jumps the incorrect fence out of a pen or lane it will be eliminated. Horses displaying con nued disobedience, or horses leaving the ring whether mounted or dismounted, will be eliminated. Penal es: First Refusal - 15; Second Refusal - 20; Third Refusal Elimina on; Jumping Knockdown - 10 (BS rules apply for the defini on of a knockdown); Fall of horse or rider - Elimina on.
