QUALIFICATION / SPECIFIC RULES BSPS This show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society (B.S.P.S.) and all persons competing, showing or otherwise taking part in the B.S.P.S. Classes, whether or not members of the B.S.P.S., are subject to the Constitution and Rules of the B.S.P.S., including any disciplinary procedures and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the B.S.P.S. All rules as per the 2018 B.S.P.S. Rule & Show Handbook except for any new or amended rules as included in this schedule. Heritage classes 8 17 & 29-34 will be judged under B.S.P.S. Heritage rules. Riders in classes 12-17 & 29-34 may be any age except with regard to stallions. Riders must be 12 years old or over on 1 st January in the current year to ride stallions not exceeding 138cms or small breed stallions, i.e. Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, Welsh Section A and Section B. Riders must be 14 years and over on the 1 st January in the current year to ride stallions exceeding 138cms or large breed stallions, i.e. Welsh Section C & D, Dales, Fells, Highlands, New Forest and Connemara. The 1 st 4 th prize winners from each of the Open classes (1 17 & 33-35) will qualify for the Premier League classes to be held at the 2019 B.S.P.S. Summer Championships. Qualifiers will run from April 2018 and culminate in the NPS Supreme Dressage Championship Final to be held at the prestigious show venue Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, Addington, Buckinghamshire in April 2019. Stabling will be available. Each test will consist of six sections all of which will have their own Final. The two highest placed ponies in each section at each qualifying show will qualify for the 2019 Final. Sections are open to:- 1. Registered Mountain & Moorland breeds not exceeding 138cm 2. Registered Mountain & Moorland breeds exceeding 138cm 3. Registered British Riding Ponies 4. Part Bred Horses/Ponies registered with their appropriate Native Breed Part Bred Stud Book including Part Bred Arab ponies overstamped in the British Riding Pony Stud Book and ponies registered with the Sports Pony Stud Book. 5. Highest placed rider aged under 12 years on 1 st January 2018 6. Highest placed Junior rider under 18 years on 1 st January 2018 * Part Bred Native ponies and Sports Ponies over-stamped within the British Riding Pony Stud Book may only compete in one section per season. Qualifying rounds will be open to everyone from across the UK. All qualifiers will receive Sponsors cards. Horse/ponies must be ridden at the Final by the qualifying rider. Those qualifying for the Final must be fully paid up Dressage or Showing members of the NPS for 2019 in order to compete at the 2019 NPS Dressage Final. The Champion winners of each section Final for each Test will be required to perform a 4.5 minute freestyle to Music for the judging of the Overall NPS Supreme Dressage titles.
