Winter Revival Jan 28 & 29 (10:00 and 1:30 both days) Come join us for revival meetings with Kenny Baldwin. Invite your friends, family and churches to join us. You won t be disappointed by this dynamic speaker! Field Trips Important Notice We would like to remind you that for the safety of our children, only parents/guardians who already have a completed Volunteer form on file in the office will be permitted to chaperone field trips with our students. We must run background checks on every person planning to attend a trip. These were processed at the beginning of each school year, which was the reason for the many reminders to complete the form. Should an event arise that a chaperone becomes unable to go on the trip, only another person with a Volunteer form on file would be permitted to take that person as chaperone, and our office would have to be notified at least a day in advance in order to verify such. We hope you will understand the importance of adhering to these policies in order to ensure that your children are safe at all times. Policy Change on Morning Tardies We are committed to academic excellence and regularly see the negative impact of tardiness from an educational perspective. However, we also understand that unexpected circumstances arise from time to time, causing a student to be late to school. When the tardiness becomes habitual, however, it creates problems for students and teachers, alike. Realizing that tardiness is not always the fault of the student, we are implementing a change to our morning tardy policy. Effective immediately, families will be charged a fee for multiple unexcused tardies in a quarter. The fees will be applied as follows: Upon 4 th unexcused tardy of the quarter - $20 fee Upon 8 th unexcused tardy in a quarter, $30 fee Upon 12 th unexcused tardy in a quarter - $40 fee Upon 16 th unexcused tardy in a quarter - $50 fee If a student is tardy unexcused more than 18 times in the quarter, they will also receive a suspension. This carries an academic consequence because they will receive zeros on all work while they are in suspension. Please understand that the purpose of this change is not for the school to make money but to encourage parents to ensure that students arrive at school on time daily without punishing the students for something that may not be their fault. If the tardiness does happen to be the student's fault, the parent has the freedom to deal with the issue at home. Just a reminder that school hours at 7:50-3:10, which means that all students are expected to arrive at CCS daily by 7:50. Robotics Club Update We are proud of our Robotics Club members, who made it to the CCRC (Cyber Robotics Coding Competition) finals, which took place on December 8. There were 12 schools that reached the finals. Each school brought 2 teams of two. CCS came in 5th and 13th out of 24 teams. John Dreyer and Daniel Adcock were our 5th place team. Liam Kelley and Alexander Mon were our 13th place team. Congratulations, boys, and thanks to Mr. Roberts for leading them! Dress Code Reminder Please remember to double check your child s uniforms over the break. Now is the time to order new skirts or pants if they are too small or too short in order to avoid your child receiving a slip. You may view the dress code by [Clicking Here]. Also, please remind your daughter that rolling up a skirt that would otherwise be the appropriate length in order to make it shorter than the required length (middle of the knee) is considered intentional disregard for a school rule and may be treated more harshly than a green slip reminder.
