Concurrent enrollment in more than one class is encouraged. Classes are limited to 8 students per instructor. Classes for all ages and all levels are offered after school and on weekends. For beginners through advanced players, the schedule offers classes once, twice or three times per week. Juniors who advance to the intermediate class may try out for the competitive team tennis. Each student s ability will be determined by an instructor and moved accordingly to the correct class. Instructors are subject to change based on availability. Practice days are Monday through Saturday from 4pm to 6pm. Teams compete every other Sunday afternoon. Players will compete in singles and/or doubles matches. Week 1: Footwork Novice (ages 12 & under): These players know how to keep score, double-fault less than half the time, and can rally at a slow pace. Week 3: Backspin Satellite (ages 10-15): These players can rally consistently, seldom double-fault, can use strategies, and are developing sound footwork. They often play USTA Satellite Tournaments. Open (ages 13-17): These players often play USTA Open Tournaments. They are consistent, can force errors with their shots, can use a variety of spins, and have sound footwork and strategy. Advanced Beginner (2.0-2.5) - Learning to judge where the ball is going, limited court coverage, can sustain short rally at slow pace. Class Description: Intermediate (3.0-3.5) - Improved stroke dependability, but need to develop depth and variety, exhibit more aggressive net play and court coverage. High Intermediate (4.0-4.5) - Dependable strokes, directional and depth control on both sides, can use lobs, overheads, approach shots and volleys.
