I would personally like to welcome all our new families and thank you for joining our league club. Welcome back to all our existing families. It has been a busy start to the season for our committee working hard behind the scenes to secure sponsorship, advertise for players, recruit coaches, hold our meet, greet and registration day, run pre season canteens and organise equipment plus much, much more. Thank you committee members and volunteers. I am looking forward to another year of growth for our club and seeing all our players improve as individuals but more important as a team and to have plenty of fun learning and playing the fantastic game of rugby league or league tag. I would like to call out early that Magpies is a family club and prides itself on how our players, coaching staff and supporters conduct themselves at training and on game day and we don t tolerate poor behavior. Remember we are here for the kids to ensure they have fun and to encourage and praise them, while respecting the referees and officials, and acknowledging our coaches volunteer their time. A friendly reminder that all players must be registered (including payment) plus submit their medical card prior to competing in a match. Interim arrangements will see the U6 and U7s train together, U9 and U10s train together U9LT and U11LT train together and U13LT and U15LT training together. Coach in the spotlight Jeff Davey U15s LT Why do you enjoy about coaching? Seeing the kids improve as individuals, together and having fun. How can parents help? Getting the kids to training, assisting at training or game day, assisting with club duty days. What NRL team to do you support? Roosters What type of music do you listen to? All types of music on the radio. What do you like doing when you are not coaching footy? Outdoors - camping, fishing, motorbike riding Coaching children is extremely satisfying through seeing the kids grow as individuals and as a team and knowing you have contributed to that growth. Please talk to Nathan Allan if you are interested in coaching as experience is not critical and we can arrange for coaching development including a NRL accredited junior rugby league training course. Parents required to fill team support roles Jeff Davey In order for training and games to run as smoothly as possible and for Magpies to comply with CRL safety and administration requirements we need volunteers for the following roles: Assistant trainers (no qualification required) - assist the coach with drills at training and pre match. Team Manager (no qualification required) - assist the coach in team organisation and administration. League Safe Runner (online qualification) - requirement to enter the field of play to deliver water and messages to the players. Sports Trainers (2 day face to face training) - each team is required to have a Sports Trainer on duty for the match. Wagga Magpies requires additional Sports Trainers preferably a parent from our U6-U10 teams. Training for this qualification will take place in Wagga Wagga 18 &19 March 2017. Magpies will pay for the course cost. 2

Amanda and Sharon have been busy purchasing stock and coordinating the running of the canteen while actively working in the canteen during the pre season rugby league events. The canteen is a major fundraiser for our club contributing to the operating expenses and allowing us to keep our registration at a low price.
