Baldwin Street Middle School How will you SHINE? e-banner Newsletter 26 October 2018 From the Princials On Wednesday, October 31, BMS students are allowed to wear costumes in recognition of Halloween. We ask that students follow the guidelines below: 1. Costumes must be in good taste and follow the appearance code standards of modesty. 2. Come prepared with a change of clothes in the event a costume is deemed inappropriate. 3. Please, no blood, gore, fake weapons, etc. 4. Students must be able to sit at their desks without the costume causing a disruption to class. 5. Masks, wigs and hats must be removed during class. 6. If make-up or hair coloring is used, it must be done so at home and left there. Don t bring it here. 7. PE activities will be held as normal, so please plan accordingly.

Message from the Media Center The fall Scholastic book fair is coming to BMS November 12-16! We will be open Monday through Thursday from 8am to 2:45pm, and Friday from 8am to 12:30m (closing and packing up after lunches). The book fair will also be open Tuesday and Thursday evenings during Parent/Teacher conferences. This is a great opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping or to add to your family s home library. Please checkout our book fair homepage for additional information and hours, and to access the online shopping tool. All online sales using that link will benefit our BMS library. The Fall Concert showed a high level of musicianship and was well received by our audience. Our next performance will be at our Winter Concert on Monday, December 10 at 8:00 p.m. Monday we will be wrapping up our fundraising event with Century Resources. We are selling chocolates, treats, and holiday related items. Order forms will are due this Monday, October 29. No money is due at this time. Items will be shipped during the week of November 13. Please consider supporting our choirs. Today we are kicking off our HPS Choirs Apparel Sale. Students and families have the opportunity to purchase t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants and window clings. This is not a fundraiser as items are priced low. Order forms given out in class today. Please make checks out to Hudsonville Choirs. These items make terrific gifts for your choir students! If you would like to keep your order a secret, please send it to the main office with a note indicating that it is a gift. Show your choir spirit by purchasing some HPS Choir clothing! BMS Musical The students of Baldwin St. Middle School will be presenting Disney s The Little Mermaid Jr. at the Hudsonville Fine Arts Auditorium. Performances will be Friday, November 16 and Saturday, November 17 at 7:00 p.m. as well as Sunday, November 18 at 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased via the HPS website. Come join your favorite characters: Ariel, Flounder Sebastian, Scuttle, Ursula and others as they take us Under the Sea.

Band Blast 6th Grade Families and Students: Congrats on a GREAT first concert last Tuesday! Thank you for all who attended in support of your students! JAZZ BAND IS HERE! We continue practice this week Monday afternoon from 3pm to 4pm in the band room. There is no registration fee and students can come and go as they please from rehearsal to rehearsal. The Hudsonville Band Boosters are continuing our annual KeyCard Sale. Books are $25 and students that sell 6 or more books will receive a free book at the end of the sale and a $15 Meijer Gift Card for over 10 books sold. We are also continuing our Little Cesar s Pizza Kit Sale! Information went out at the beginning of the month and orders are due THIS WEDNESDAY on Halloween.
