Aloha, Kia ora, Talofa, La Ora na, Malo e lelei, Gidday On behalf of Panamuna OCC I would like to personally welcome you to Race 6 of the South Queensland Zone OC1/2 V1 Ski and SUP series, meal, presentation of trophies and OC1 prize draw. This regatta will be run over 2 days the OC1/2 series event from Mooloolaba Spit and on Sunday an OC6 mixed aggregate age beach changeover fun race for ages 15 and over. As per AOCRA guidelines the distances will be an 8km short course and a 16km long course with junior races throughout Saturday. If the weather gods are with us the long course will be run from Point Arkwright (Andrews St Beach Access 86) to Mooloolaba Spit Beach or Moffat Beach to Mooloolaba Spit. Race registrations for both days are to be completed online at www.aocra.com.au with the cut off Wednesday 6 December 2017. A BBQ, drinks and coffee van will be available until 12 noon on Saturday. Meal tickets will be given to competing senior paddlers at registration for the post-race series meal. DAY TWO Sunday 10 th December 2017 OC6 INAUGURAL CLUB TROPHY - MIXED BEACH CHANGEOVER RACE Race rego : 7.00am Briefing: 7.30am Race Start: 8.00am The beach changeover race will start and finish at Mooloolaba Spit Beach - 4 km course 3 laps each x 2 =24 kms Minimum of 2 females in the canoe. A team consists of 9 paddlers with 3 paddlers changing at each change. Winners to be decided on the combined time divided by number of crews. ~~Depending on crew numbers we may run 2 races~~ 15yrs and over mixed aggregate age relay Under 320, Over 320 Please email relay crew names to panamunasecretary@gmail.com by Saturday 2 nd December if necessary we will try to make up crews with extra paddlers keen to race but unable to form crews FEES & NOMINATION INFORMATION SATURDAY - Senior OC1/OC2/V1 = $20 per person per race Ski and SUP = $20 per person per race + $8 registration Junior = $10 per person per race SUNDAY OC6 15yrs and over mixed aggregate age beach changeover race = $15 per paddler for the day Registration in advance for all paddlers will be online via the AOCRA website www.aocra.com.au. No registrations will be accepted on the day. Late fees will apply after midnight Wednesday 6 th December. $100 per adult for registrations after cut off day $50 per junior registrations after cut off day These fees will be paid to the host club in same splits as normal fees In addition the RACE DIRECTOR has the discretion to deny the late registrations to paddle if there are concerns about safety boat ratio ANYONE WHO IS REGISTERING LATE OR HAVING TROUBLE REGISTERING WILL NEED TO CONTACT CONNIE WITHRINGTON on 0422 937 483 4
COMPETITOR ELIGIBILITY Paddlers are reminded of AOCRA S rules and regulation regarding participating in AOCRA sanctioned events. Individuals (OC1/V1) and teams (OC6/V12) are only permitted to take part in said event if recognised as sanctioned competitor/s, which means: 1. The individual/team has registered and paid for the event through the AOCRA website, 2. The individual/team captain, have signed in at the registration desk and provided racing canoe number, 3. The individual/all team members, are current financial member/s of an ACRA affiliated club, and 4. The individual/all team members, are current financial member/s of AOCRA. Due to insurance implications, if the above criteria is not met, you are to stay off the race course. Non-competing paddlers are not to use the event courses for training, coaching or recreational paddling in club or personal craft while competitors are on the course. JUST A REMINDER THAT THE WINNER OF THE OC1 WILL BE ANNOUNCED FOLLOWING THE MEAL AND PRESENTATIONS ON SATURDAY 9 TH DECEMBER 2017 SQ Zone Committee SQ Zone is pleased to announce that again we will giving away another OC1 at the end of this OC1/2 Race Series. To be in the running to win the Canoe the following conditions apply: Be member of a SQ Zone Affiliated Club. One race entry entitles you to one entry to win the canoe. You must also be present at the last Regatta to win the canoe. Paddling Promotions together with Outrigger Zone have generously provided sponsorship towards this year s OC1, the winner will have a choice between an ANTARES or ARES OC1 complete with travel covers.
