ENTRIES CLOSE MAY 9, 2018. All entries POSTMARKED after May 9 th will be subject to a late fee of $30 per horse. Entries not RECEIVED on or before May 30 th will be charged a late fee of $45. Please note, these late charges will be enforced for everyone. Entry, drug and stall fees must be paid in full at time of entry and accompany entry form. FAXED ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. During the show, for horses that are already entered, post entries must be made one session prior to the class being entered. No splitting of fees on any entry blank. In the event of a cancellation necessitated by severe weather or other emergency, entry fees will not be refunded. The term entry may not be used when an owner qualifies more than one horse in a championship class. Enter one horse which might be shown and you may make a substitution with another qualified entry at no charge. Championship qualifications Exhibitors must enter and show in the respective section for each championship. Cross entering is allowed between the Classic Pleasure and English Pleasure Divisions and Classic Pleasure Driving and Pleasure Driving Division, if shoeing requirements are met. SCRATCHES An exhibitor failing to scratch an entry at least one hour prior to the session in which the class is scheduled will be assessed a $25 scratch fee. All scratches must be made on the official scratch form and signed by the secretary. Money for qualifying classes is not refunded but may be put toward another class. Management reserves the right to cancel or combine or split any class. Class changes will be posted in the Secretary s office.

BILLING FEE A $25 fee will be charged to any exhibitor or farm who must be billed after the show. RETURNED CHECK FEE There will be a $50 handling charge for all returned checks and/or declined credit cards. REFUNDS Refund request made before the closing date of entries, May 9, 2018 will be made in full. Entry fees will be refunded due to an injury/casualty to a horse or exhibitor, or an immediate member of the exhibitor s family only when the exhibitor provides the show secretary with a veterinarian or doctor s certificate no later than the start of the show. Stall fees and office fees will not be refunded for any reason after the close of entries May 9, 2018. ENTRY FEES: Qualifying Classes $30 Championships $50 Academy Classes $25 DRESSAGE CLASS FEES: $40 per ride USEF FEE: Every horse participating shall pay a $23 Federation fee ($15 shall be the equine drugs and medications fee). SHOW PASS FEE: $45 NON-SHOWING HORSES: There is a $50 charge per horse for horses that are stabled on the grounds and not entered and shown in any classes. HORSE STALL FEES: $135 TACK STALL FEES: $135 SHAVINGS: $8 per bag (Pre-orders contact Sandy Sessink) MORGAN ENTRIES. Horses in this division must be registered with the American Morgan Horse Association Inc., the Canadian Morgan Horse Association, or thebritish Morgan Horse Society, and must be entered under their full registered name or, if under one year of age, be eligible for registration. Horses must be entered under the names of the owner(s) or lessee or record with the AMHA, CMHA, or BMHS. A copy of the registration papers showing recorded ownership or proof of least must be submitted with entry form at the time of making entry. Competition management is responsible for notifying exhibitors of this requirement. Owners, trainers, and riders must be members of AMHA. SADDLEBRED ENTRIES. A copy of registration papers showing proof of ownership or a copy of the registration papers with a Certificate of Eligibility to show issued by the American Saddlebred Registry must be submitted be presented to the horse show office before a competition number will be released. Owners, riders, drivers, trainers must be members of ASHA.Membership applications will be available in the show office. FRIESIAN ENTRIES: Individuals signing the USEF Entry Agreement (i.e. rider, driver, handler, agent of an owner, and trainer) for horses competing in the Friesian division must be members of the International Friesian Show Horse Association or pay a non-member fee to IFSHA for each competition. Also all Friesian horses in Friesian classes need to be registered with an IFSHA # not just Friesian registration papers. MORGAN AND SADDLEBRED ENTRIES: No stripping in any championship classes. PONY ENTRIES: Day and time of measuring will be announced at the show. Ponies without permanent USEF measurement cards must be measured before they are shown. DRESSAGE/WESTERN DRESSAGE: All dressage classes will be held in the dressage ring located by Gate 1 on the Eastern States Exposition grounds. The footing is sand. Warm up footing is sand or grass. Stabling in D and F barns is recommended due to their proximity to the dressage ring. Each competitor is responsible for supplying management with correct USDF numbers for rider, horse, and/or owner or a non-member identification number. Scores count towards Adequan/USDF All-Breeds Awards. PRIZE MONEY DISTRIBUTION A trophy and eight ribbons will be awarded in all classes. Prize money will be mailed to the owner within 30 days of the last day of the show. Prize money checks must be cashed within 30 days of the date issued. FOOTING The coliseum show arena is 100 x 200 and is sand footing. The outside show, dressage & warm up rings are sand footing. Carriage is grass footing. Dressage footing is sand. Warm up footing is sand or grass. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS The Massachusetts Department of Public Health requires that no equine over 6 months of age is permitted at any horse show in the Commonwealth unless it is accompanied by a negative Coggins Test which was conducted within the previous 12 months. Foals under 6 months of age shall be exempt from the requirements provided that the foal is with its dam and the dam is accompanied by an official negative Coggins test. It is also required that all the horses must have a certificate to prove the Eastern and Western Equine Encephalitis vaccination has been administered. At Federation licensed competitions, horses entering the grounds must be accompanied by documentation of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) vaccinations within six months prior to entering the stables. Horses not in compliance with this rule may be required to leave the competition grounds upon request by competition management. Please refer to USEF GR845 Equine Vaccination Rule for complete rules on compliance. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE The grounds will be open to exhibitors and horses at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018 until SUNDAY, June 10, 2018. Any early arrivals of supplies or

horses prior to Monday, June 4, 2018, will be subject to a $100 charge by Eastern States Exposition. STABLING 620 permanent stalls with doors are available at a rate of $135 per stall. Show management cannot guarantee the same stall location from year to year. There will be no additional stabling. Due to the stabling limitations, early entries are advised. No initial bedding. BOX SEATS Will be available during the entire course of the show at the rate of $125, for six (6) seats. CAMPERS & HORSE TRAILERS Campers or horse trailers with living quarters will be parked in the area designated by the management. Camper stickers will be issued at the gate by Eastern States. The fee is $240 for Monday, June 4, 2018 through Sunday, June 11, 2018; $325 for campers requiring 50 amp service. Fees are paid at the show office. Early arrival campers can move in on Saturday, June 3, 2017 and/or Sunday, June 4, 2017 but must pay a $15 per night early arrival fee at the gate; $50/night for 50 amp service. Driver s License Statement - GR901.29 Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. (If your competition bans motorized vehicles, please contact our office for further instruction.) LUNGING of horses is not permitted in the coliseum. QUIET TIME will be in the coliseum the first hour after the conclusion of the afternoon session. LADIES CLASSES All entries in ladies classes will be eligible to show back in their respective amateur championship if they were qualified by an amateur. LIMIT RIDER CLASSES All entries in limit rider classes will be eligible to show back in either their respective limit rider or age group championship. FIRE & SAFETY REGULATIONS The following regulations must be adhered to in accordance with the Town of the West Springfield Fire Regulations and Public Safety Code. 1. No smoking allowed in barns or coliseum. Strictly enforced. 2. No open flames allowed in any building. 3. All fabrics used as backdrops and/or display must be flame retardant. 4. Burlap material is not allowed for display. 5. Bark much is not allowed for display material. Large Wood chips or coarse bark mulch may be used in barns but shall be kept damp at all times. 6. No motorized gasoline/diesel vehicles. 7. All exits and fire lanes shall remain free and clear at all times. 8. No excessive accumulation of litter or rubbish. 9. Class Hold Policy- The exact time schedule, so that everyone can plan accordingly, will be posted and announced no less than 30 minutes prior to each session. To facilitate this, a standard two minute hold will be granted only to those people who sign up in writing at the show office at least one hour before the session. Those needing a more substantial hold must make arrangements with the show manager at least 90 minutes before the session.
