Whangarei Kart Club presents: SUMMER SLAM 2 DAY FUN MEETING. 10 TH AND 11 TH JANUARY 2009. Invitation meeting for members of Auckland, Mount Wellington, EBOP, BOP & Whangarei Clubs. As this is a Club Invitation Meeting there is no minimum requirement for a Licence Rating. KartSport New Zealand Permit 0843F

Summer Slam 2009 Supplementary Rules. Permit 0843F Competitors must be members of Whangarei, Mount Wellington, EBOP, BOP or Auckland clubs. Timetable: Friday: Track available for testing from 1pm until 4pm only. $5.00 Fee applies, please sign indemnity at the track. Saturday 10 th January 2008 and Sunday 11 th January 2009 7.00 a.m. Gates open 8.00 a.m. Scrutineering of karts plus confirmation of entries 9:15 a.m. Scrutineering and Confirmation of entries close 9:35 a.m. Drivers briefing 10 a.m. Tuning run of respective classes 10:45 a.m. (approx.) Racing commences 4:50 p.m. (approx.) Racing finishes After racing is over. Social time at club rooms Engine technical Inspections where applicable On Sunday Prize-giving Venue: Anderson Raceway, Austins Road, Maunu, Whangarei. Track Length: Approximately 380 metres. Minimum of five entries per class. Number of laps and number of heats may be changed on the day dependant on the number of entries in each class. The number of laps for the final on Saturday and Sunday will be 20 if time permits. Race Fields: Maximum of 16 karts as per Track Rating. There will be no over subscribed fields. The first 16 entries for each class will be accepted. Direction of racing: Clockwise on day one and anti-clockwise on day two subject to Clerk of the Course approval. Race Format: The meeting is run over two days. Note: Drivers entering for only 1 day of the 2 days will be required to be scrutineered and gear Checked as per the timetable and will be run rear of field for the days racing. Day one, Saturday: Day two, Sunday: Run over 4 heats predetermined grid draw system Run over 4 heats. First 3 heats predetermined grid draw system Heat four lowest points from 2 days to the front. At conclusion of the final heat worst performance over 2 days racing is dropped, providing class winners. (Seven heats count). Points System: National Points System 1 point for 1 st, 2 points for 2 nd, 3 points for 3 rd etc. DQ rule G9B.5, DNS rule G19b.3 Transponders: AMB system will be in use for the weekend. Supplementary Rules: (1) No kart engines are permitted to be run before 10 a.m. and after 5 p.m. on both days unless permission is obtained by the Convener from the local Authorities. (2) All air cooled engines except Cadet and Raket 120 must have 2 complete rows of purpose built noise suppression rubbers, heat silicon cord or silicon sealant fitted to the fins. (3) Motor vehicles are not permitted to be parked in the Pits Area unless directed to do so. (4) A high standard of behaviour is expected of competitors and crew at all times. The Convenor and/or KartSport New Zealand officials reserve the right to remove any person including spectators from the complex that are deemed to have behaviour that could bring the Whangarei Kart Club and KartSport New Zealand into disrepute. (5) No alcohol can be consumed on the grounds by anyone including spectators until after racing is completed on each day. Pit sizes are approximately 3 metres x 3 metres and will be allocated on first come first served. Food: Breakfast, lunch and refreshments will be available on both days. Prizes: for overall 1 st 2 nd and 3 rd in each class. In addition there will be random product prizes for competitors in each class. Flag Marshals: To be provided by first 3 on grid for clockwise direction and by first 4 for anti-clockwise direction. Entries must be received before 5 p.m. on Saturday 4 th January 2009. Entries may be accepted after this date at the Convenors Discression for classes that reach minimum numbers by close of entries and up to the track limit only. General information: The track is situated on Austin Road which is on the left near the top of Maunu hill. When travelling from Auckland turn left towards Dargaville at the second set of traffic lights inside Whangarei city on the main road north. Approximately 7 kms turn left into Austin Road. Fees: $60 per class entered covers the two days racing. There is no reduction of entry fee for entry on only one of the two days. Please note there will be NO EFTPOS facility over the weekend.

INDEMNIFICATION I acknowledge and agree to accept as a condition of entry that the FIA-CIK; Motor Sport New Zealand; KartSport New Zealand; the Whangarei Kart Club; Whangarei District Council; all sponsors and all or any members, officials or assistants of any of the above named and or known organisations, or their respective servants, officials, representatives, or agents shall not be under any liability whatsoever for any death or bodily injury, loss or damage which may be sustained or incurred as a result of my participation in the race meeting or event, howsoever such death or bodily injury, loss or damage is caused not withstanding that such death, injury, loss or damage may have been contributed to or caused by the negligence of the Inviting Club or KartSport New Zealand or any of their respective officials, servants, representatives or agents or by any other person. DECLARATION I declare I have a current KartSport New Zealand Competition licence with a rating applicable to the class entered. Non rated drivers are eligible to compete. I declare I am conversant with current KartSport New Zealand rules, regulation and sporting codes governing kart racing, and that I will abide by any supplementary regulations which apply and the directions and rulings of the Chief Steward of the day without losing my right to protest or appeal. I declare that I have no medical condition that may impede my ability to drive a kart in competition or practice. I declare that should I at the time of this event to be suffering from any disability of any kind whether permanent or temporary which is likely to detrimentally affect my control of my kart or my fitness to drive, I will not participate. I declare that will not make use of drugs or of prohibited methods such as are defined by the Intoxicating Liquor and Drug regulations of KartSport New Zealand. I declare that I give consent to the details contained on this entry form being held by KartSport New Zealand and/or the Organising Club for the purpose of the promotion and benefit of the event concerned, and KartSport in general.
