Our core coaching team will be assisted on the mats by a team of fully vetted and qualified Level One and Two coaches from all over Ireland. JUDO GAMES AND FUN FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN First day morning session: 9.30am to 10.30am FUN fully inclusive session for younger kids, judo games and exercises. All three mats. Mat 1 (under 7s) mat 2 (under 8s) mat 3 (under 9s) Open to all younger players for 6 to 9 years of age Older minors (8 to 10) may stage for additional minors sessions.
MINORS & PRECADETS Three sessions day one, one session day two. Split into two groups (8 to 10 and 10 to 14) Two technical sessions (Newaza / Tachi waza) followed by randori & games. Open to all levels Older minors / pre-cadets and join development activities, such as kata, or CDP activities. Advanced players may also join cadet / senior sessions subject to lead coaches permission.
CADETS / SENIORS Three sessions day one, one session day two plus various CPD activities. 14 years and older Two technical sessions (Newaza / Tachi Waza) follow by randori on day one. Option to enter team competition in the evening. Open to all levels Number of international clubs sending players. Various CPD activities such a refereeing, coaching, kata, team competition and table officials course. National Dan grading on day two
SENIOR TEAM EVENT Male Senior team player must be over 16 years of age of age. (Max 8 teams). Female team player must be over 16 years of age. CPD ACTIVITY - KATA Delivered by one of the UK & Ireland s leading kata experts, Martin Savage. Martin has been eight times British champion in Kododan Goshin Jutsu, represented GB in three world championships and has won 17 British kata championship trophies in his long career. During the course of two days Martin will introduce Judoka of all ages to four kata. Kodokan Goshin Jutsu No kata self-defence techniques Go Sen No Kata the strategy of counter technique Nage no kata the first of the two Randori-No-Kata of Kodokan Judo focuses on throwing techniques Katame no kata the second of the two Randori-No-Kata of Kodokan Judo focuses on ground work techniques
CPD ACTIVITY REFEREE FOUNDATION Foundation level for those wishing to engage with the formal pathway to refereeing qualifications. Two hour practical session on the mat with an emphasis on adaption of the judo refereeing rules for the next 2017-2020 Olympic cycle. Qualified referees can use this training as part of their CPD requirements. Aspiring referees, subject to confirmation of suitability from the referee commission and the grading commission, may also gain experience of refereeing at the grading the following day under the guidance of qualified referees. There will be no additional charge to attend
CPD ACTIVITY COACHING Designed to serve as a re-validation coaching event recognized by the IJA s coaching commission. As a judo coach the success and popularity of the sport in Ireland is directly related to coaches efforts and successes. In order to maintain and build upon your knowledge, skills and competencies it is important that coaches embrace CPD as part of their coaching re-validation and coaching career pathway. The event will allow coaches to meet each other in a social setting, build relationships, share ideas and thoughts on coaching. There will be no additional charge to attend the coaching re-validation/continual professional development (CPD) event and all coaches taking part will receive a certification of attendance.
