DC Report - Georgina Hasell & Lee Paterson Kyneton Pony Club is buzzing with energy at the moment! Thanks to everyone who helped paint jumps, chop up fallen timber, restore the jumping arena, clean up the shed, go to the tip and cook lunch. It was terrific to see so many families helping at our working bee even though the weather was so awful. Well done to you riders who painted jumps - you did a great job and I know that you had fun too! There are still some more jump poles and wings to paint so if you missed the fun bring some old clothes and shoes so you don t feel left out of our dynamic and energetic team! Time to read about our exciting partnership with the adult riders and the joint working party, which is working extremely hard behind the scenes to improve our grounds. They have been meeting on a regular basis and have been busily seeking quotes and writing grant applications. Catch up with Lee Paterson, Kate MacRae, Andrea Tanner and Rohan Taylor to find out more and learn how you can get involved in this exciting initiative to make our grounds sensational! Have you heard Rochelle Kennedy s exciting news? She s running on two legs, & not using horsepower. How much determination and dedication does it take to get to be the best in your sport and to earn the privilege and responsibility to represent your country? We are all so proud of you Rochelle and wish you all the best for your future representing Australia. Congratulations to a wonderful sportswoman. Thank you for being such an inspirational role model to us all! At our next rally you will be working with Anne Hall, Dressage; Terry Campbell, Cross-country ; Amanda Berry, equitation ; and Kirsty Williams, Bareback riding. You will also have two new instructors, Sue Turner - Show-jumping and Kristen Galea who will be doing flatwork. Please welcome them to our club and show your enthusiasm and good sportsmanship so that they all want to continue to work with you again. Can everyone please check that your cards are signed and graded correctly for our Combined Training Day? Remember if you wish to be graded or re-graded please email Georgina SEVERAL DAYS BEFORE the rally so the grading committee can watch you ride on Sunday. Feedback about the day s activities is always useful, but please remember that when we have six or seven groups it is hard for each group to show jump at each rally. Please be patient. You will get a turn! Wanted for future rallies a vacuum cleaner with reverse setting for pumping up the giant ball. Horse volunteers for our farrier s theory lessons and demonstration at July rally. Look out for Polocrosse Victoria coming to you at Kyneton Pony Club soon! Have a great rally, Lee and Georgina If you are working towards your C certificate - GREEN and ORANGE groups - and you took a green booklet home can you please remember to pay Jill Weeks $10 at the uniform shop. Please bring your float boots, exercise bandages (if you have any) and a rug to the next rally for your C test preparation. The Development and Vision for a Better Equestrian Facility at Rollinson Reserve Georgina suggested I update all our members on the behind the scenes work for new facilities for the Rollinson Reserve. Kyneton Pony Club and The Kyneton Adult Riding Association have formed a committee to help develop new equestrian facilities for the reserve. This is an exciting collaboration and we are hoping to achieve better riding facilities for all riders who use Rollinson Reserve. The committee started last year with Lee Paterson, Kate MacRae & Heather Kennedy meeting with Murray Robertson, Lyn Keyes and Deb Swanwick from the Kyneton and District Adult Riding Club and Merell Webb Liddle representing Riders with disabilities. Since heather Kennedys resignation, the committee has now been joined by Rohan Taylor and Andrea Tanner. In the initial meetings we identified the big item priorities. This includes new club rooms, levelling and resurfacing the show jumping arena, creating a new flat 60 x 50 metre sand arena, and the resurfacing of the small area behind our existing dressage arena. The committee has now started to seriously apply for grant moneys for these big money items. Kate, Lyn, Rowan and Andrea have been very busy this week applying for a Bendigo Bank Community U grant! We also need new show jumps and an upgrading of the cross country course, but are looking at the larger picture items at this time. One of the suggestions for the Cross Country course is to ask companies or businesses to sponsor a jump. If you have any thoughts and suggestions that will help the committee please speak to Lee Kate Rowan or Andrea. We would really appreciate your input. We are also looking to develop a fundraising committee to
