Flanigan World Record "I shoot world-class records. I need world-class products." Patrick Flanigan World Record Holder Exhibition Shooter. Flanigan World Record July 6, 2005. Patrick Flanigan carefully places his right thumb and fingers tightly over 11 clay targets. It s a long stretch. Bending his knees, and with a mighty swoop, he tosses them all high in the air. What happens next is unbelievable. The targets separate and fall quickly. With his Winchester Super X shotgun clutched tightly in his left hand, he deftly shoulders the semi-automatic and proceeds to break all 11 targets before they hit the ground. He has just set the world record of 11 hand-thrown clay targets, individually shot without assistance (one target per cartridge)! The Super X is no ordinary shotgun. It s the only semi-automatic shotgun in the world that swings and cycles fast enough to break every target. Patrick could not have broken the world record without it. The extremely short piston stroke also limits the amount of combustion gases that get into the receiver for cleaner, more reliable operation. The wide extractor claw and partially recessed bolt face pick up the cartridge from the magazine, holding it firmly whilst presenting it to the chamber at the correct angle. On extraction, the case is again held securely until right At the end of the bolt stroke, when the empty case is smartly ejected. This tried-and-tested design allows you to extract the un-fired cartridge even if it hasn t yet fully entered the chamber. Controlled Round Push Feed Bolt. Extractor s innovative design.
