Welcome to Nidelv Welcome to Nidelv and one of the oldest yards in Norway. For close to 80 years we have been building boats in exactly the same way: By hand and with our hearts! Materials, designs and tools have changed, but for us it has always been the same: Building boats that we are proud of! 7
The first Nidelv The first Nidelv boat was launched as early as 1929. It was built by Nils Nilsen who at the time already had 18 years experience as a boat builder. A genuine love of his trade and a desire to develop more and better boats led to the foundation of The Nidelv Yard. In the beginning Nidelv found its customers especially among the many ships officers in the Arendal area. The pleasure boat allowed for a popular means of recreation during long holidays. The boat also raised their status in the maritime community of Arendal. The Nidelv boats were in a class of their own in terms of craftsmanship and quality, and soon customers from all over Southern Norway were arriving. 8

10 Nidelv makes history
Nidelv started using GRP construction as late as in 1966, and two years later the Nidelv 24 was launched. The boat is regarded as the greatest success in the history of Norwegian pleasure boats. The last Nidelv 24 was delivered in 2001 and had hull number 3013. The Nidelv 24 legacy is carried on in our Classic series. (Please request separate brochure, or check the web for details) Nidelv 18, launched in 1975, was also a great success, and was the forerunner for a whole series of Sport Cruisers in years to come. With the introduction of 590 Sport in 2005 we could once again offer a compact day cruiser in the below 20 ft. class. For many this will be the first new Nidelv they acquire. It will probably not be the last! 11
Nidelv is a boat builder s yard! Over the years boat building has gone from building boats one by one to customers exact specifications to becoming subjected to the harsh demands of production-society s conformity. Any departure from standard specifications has been regarded as too costly, and has been weeded out. This is why you can buy mass-produced boats made in factories. Boat factories Nidelv is a boat builder s yard. We still build each boat by hand. Times have changed, but we have managed to stay focussed on what is most important for us: Building boats that we are proud of! We are convinced that this vision has made us successful in prosperous times, and kept us afloat when the market has dried up. We know that many of our customers share our experience. Unique boating pleasure Since we are a yard where each boat is built by hand we can offer you choices the boat factories can not. We believe that the pleasure of owning a boat increases when it is exactly the way you want it. At Nidelv the pleasure starts before the boat is built. Enjoy choosing fabrics for upholstery and cushions, choose between different woods and corian, choose the extent of equipment, hull colour and engines.. until it is exactly the way YOU want it. In short: Have it your way! We are happy to be of assistance if you require any help during the process. 15

Boating safety Unique boating pleasure is much more than looks and speed. It is also about the boat being user-friendly and safe. A part of safety is reliability and the certainty that the boat and equipment conform to maritime quality standards. Another dimension is that you are in safe hands in case anything should happen. We require our dealer network of and service facilities to help us provide our customers with unique boating pleasure also AFTER the boat has been bought and paid for. 17

Made for use! Our boats are built by hand, not just assembled at a factory. This provides a sense of quality in craftsmanship and installations that makes the boat feel safe and sturdy even before you leave the jetty. We are boating people as well and we have experience of what works onboard. If you have some prior experience you will soon see if a boat is a mere piece of decorative furniture, or if she is made to be used. User friendliness is also about everyone on board feeling safe, in harbour or at sea. All the fancy equipment in the world is of little use if the hull is sub-standard. First of all a boat must be seaworthy. All our boats have safe sea keeping abilities. 19

The owner of this boat has already ordered a 780 SSR. Talk about boating pleasure! Ready for Take Off? Some models can be delivered in the Super Sport design. This is a special sports package featuring free choice of hull colour, Super Sport insignia on boat and cushions, and free choice of engine size. On the 725 we even offer a specially designed Super Sport windshield. Our hottest option is called Super Sport R, and SSR for short. The hull is finished in the metallic colour of your choice, and there are special SSR insignia on boat and cushions. The boat comes with the full monty, and for SSR only the biggest is good enough. This year the 725 SSR features the Volvo D6 350 diesel with DPR-drive and 337 hp, or Volvo V8 5,7GXI producing 320 hp. Top speed: More than 50 knots! 20

Nidelv Sport Welcome aboard Nidelv s Sports-series, and real boating pleasure. Designing a boat interior is a challenging undertaking. How to fit a maximum of relevant functions into a minimum of space and avoid a cramped feeling? Or spoiling the boat s lovely lines? Or reducing seaworthiness? It is an interaction between weight distribution, beam and draft, hull angles and user friendliness. Naturally there is less hardware on an 18 ft. boat than on 28 footer, but it is still a question of priorities. All Nidelv boats are designed and built by boating people. All our solutions have been tested by ourselves. New solutions and ideas are developed and tested on an ongoing basis, and often in collaboration with our customers. We are proud to present the Nidelv Sport Series 2007! And if you require more space we recommend a closer look at Nidelv 320 Cruiser. 23
