COMMERCIAL PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES PRESENTED BY BO NESS HILL CLIMB REVIVAL LIMITED

INTRODUCTION Welcome to the Bo ness Hill Climb, Scotland s first true motor racing venue. Now entering it s eighth year, The Bo ness Speed Hill Climb is firmly established on the UK Historic motorsport calendar. This years event on the 5th and 6th September promises to be the most exciting yet and has attracted Global media coverage with Motors TV running a 96 minute special programme, which will be shown early in October. Such interest is hardly surprising, when you consider the rich history that surrounds the Hill Climb and the event will continue to feature a fantastic line up of cars and competitors from all over the UK, a Classic Car Show with trade stands and an Aerial display. We are working hard to establish a truly memorable experience for the anticipated large crowds at the same time providing a meaningful marketing platform for your business to gain exposure and sales. The ongoing success of the event needs your commercial partnership support and I can assure you that my team will strive to ensure that any level of involvement you have, will represent value for money and deliver a return on investment. Thank you for you support. CHAIRMAN, BHCR

Photo Bill Henderson Sylvia Black at Bo ness, June 1953 THE HISTORY Photo Jesse Alexander Bo ness has a great history of motorsport in Scotland and some of the greatest hill climb champions have performed at Bo ness My brother drove there, as did I, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Sir Jackie Stewart Photo The Ford Motor Company Jim Clark Once driven by the two giants of Scottish motorsport Jim Clark and Sir Jackie Stewart the Bo ness Hill Climb is Scotland s first true motor racing venue and one of it s most illustrious motorsport events. Jackie Stewart Ron Flockhart Dating back over 80 years, the first official event staged in the Kinneil Estate was a combined car and motorcycle meeting held in June 1934. That meeting was such a success that the track was quickly developed from an unsurfaced estate road into a proper motor sports venue with safety banking, covered paddock, a return road and spectators grandstands holding numerous meetings, both for cars and motor cycles up until the outbreak of war in 1939. More improvements were made to the track after racing resumed in 1946 resulting in the grant of an International License and this led to the staging of the inaugural RAC British Hill Climb Championship at Bo ness on 17th May 1947. In the late 40 s and early 50 s crowds of up to 10,000 would flock to see some of the best drivers of that era take on the daunting Courtyard and notorious Snake Bend. Participants at this time included a young Stirling Moss in 1949 driving his 996cc Cooper; Four-time British Hill Climb champion, Ken Wharton; local Le Mans winner, Ron Flockhart; and Peter Stubberfield in his well known and much developed Bugatti T35B. The running of the event was taken over in 1959 by The Lothian Car Club and their first meeting featured another notable up and coming young driver called Jim Clark who drove both the big Border Reivers Jaguar and also his successful Le Mans Lotus Elite. The LCC meetings continued to be popular with both with drivers and spectators alike throughghout the early 60 s. Then in 1966 Bo ness Town Council announced they were selling the land at the top of the hill to a housing developer and so the final meeting was held in June 1966. It would be another 42 years before the historic track at Kinneil would hear the roar of a racing car again. Joe Fry Photo Bill Henderson Ken Wharton

THE REVIVAL THE 2015 BO NESS HILL CLIMB 5 TH AND 6 TH SEPTEMBER 2015 THE OPPORTUNITY For 2015 we have introduced a suite of commercial partnership options, all of which are designed to deliver fantastic branding exposure. In 2008, a group of dedicated enthusiasts (the Bo ness Hill Climb Revival Ltd) reopened the racing track with the help of Falkirk Council and staged the first competition in the picturesque grounds of Kinneil Park for more than 40 years. Since then the revival has grown in size and stature, attracting more and more families with over 7,000 visitors attending last year s event. Held over two days, the Bo ness Hill Climb features upwards of 80 competitors and spectators are witness to some truly rare and exceptional cars of all ages including legendary marques such as Lotus, Bentley, Morgan, Aston Martin, Austin Healey, Jaguar, Cooper and Triumph competing in different categories depending on their vintage. As well as the racing, there are many other attractions to entertain including; the annual BHCR Classic Car Show, which last year saw almost 200 cars on show; action in the sky with an aerobatic flying display; demonstration drives from some top UK racing drivers; plus food outlets along with memorabilia and trade stands. Each year the BHCR committee strive to make the revival bigger and better and with your help, we believe the 2015 event will be the biggest and best yet.
