(Moved Margy Seconded Alison) President s Report March Well it s been an interesting year to date, with more rain than we can handle along with all the other equestrian sports we have had to again cancel our Dressage rider s clinic with Anne Slatford, and it would have been so handy to have had that clinic before the Championships. I would like to recognize the club and its volunteers, there were numerous comments made during the championship weekend on how amazing the ground crew where. Special mention to Margy who not only was knee deep in organizing the weekend but also found time to organize our riders an opportunity to ride at the Ranch before the comp. We now have a banner and a flag that I think we should use at all of our comps. New Members still coming on board which is great, the next comp will be low level weq at Mulgoa on the 14 th may which I am now informed is mother s day!!! Maybe a flower and choc for all mums competing on the day????? Then we have our Dressage day on the 28 th May, let s hope this day will go ahead without the rain Congratulations to all of our CEi winners on the day. HUGE congratulations to CEI team of 4 who won the supreme champion team of 4 on the weekend Sandra Richards, Carol Griffiths, Sue Skilling and Robyn Johnson (who also won the fastest cattle ride on the day). The competition was strong and it was magic to see our girls win. Show the trophy (where would you all like to display it)? I would like to encourage any of our members to attend the 1 st hour of any of our monthly meetings. I would like to nominate a new committee member Cherie Oxley who showed outstanding effort and commitment at the championships over the weekend, and I believe will be a great asset to the club. I would like to in future combine my x2 reports being the President and Working

Cei had good representation on the day including x2 cattle teams what an awesome sport for a horse to be able to compete over the x4 disciplines and be placed is exceptional, and trust me even though the numbers were low the competition was big, the clubs had put forward the best of their best. Cei were the host for 2017 Championships and we proved to the WEQ world we know how to run a great comp. Again the ground crew was amazing our riders were outstanding and the venue was just out of this world, it looked at one stage it was all going to have to be held indoors but we were lucky enough to have sunshine and fabulous weather on the Saturday, holding the 4 phases over the 2 days certainly made a different feel about the whole comp, relaxed for competitors and admin alike the expenses are double, but all things considered the hard work was well worth it with a very exciting weekend. Well now we have tried out the venue, it would be lovely to have more of it, I have been re assured by other clubs that a comp held at those grounds they would support it.so where to from now???? The grounds charge is approx. $2,500 and we need to be able to cover that with
the entries. We wait until closing date to see what can be spend on the day and organise accordingly then as the refunds start to happen it leaves us in a bad place. We were all under control with the expenses until the cancellations started, I would like to table a suggestion to you all for consideration and to be voted on at our next meeting. As part of conditions of entry NO REFUNDS but TRANSFERABLE eg another rider and horse can take your place in the same level (ride HC) if necessary It is becoming way tooo easy to get a dr cert or vet cert, the way I look at it is, you buy a ticket for any event sports concert or anything if you don t turn up you miss out, it s not the organisers fault You have up to the closing date to pull out, then you are committed. I m not suggesting we take it to the dressage COE but the WEQ days are smaller and if we want to move the days over to K ranch it makes a big difference if you lose 2 competitors as that s like losing 8 dressage tests. We had a raffle and a spin the wheel on the day which proved to be a good little money maker. I would like to put that money aside and have a fundraising effort started to from whoever and whatever you can get Ava had chocolates, Margy and I donated gifts so big or small we need the gifts to raise the $2,000 needed to invest in the electronic timer. I could not have been prouder on the weekend for the wonderful championships that CEI presented. So a Huge Thank you team we are pretty amazing I would like to submit a suggestion that the committee be invited to a mystery night out in June as our reward for all the hard work we do along with their partners. Set the date Lee I will collate the vollie hours and get them to you Judges Coordinator Report March WORKING EQUITATION 14 th May Intro & Prelim only No judges at this stage as most are busy with Mothers Day.
