If you are struggling (D, F) you may be removed at the coaches discretion from an upcoming performance/activity in order to focus on your grades. You may not travel with the team/miss school. Attitude/Actions If, at ANY time, the coaches see or are told that a cheerleader is not acting in a respectful and responsible manner (i.e. acting rude or disrespectful, using offensive or abusive language, smoking, in possession of or using alcohol or illegal drugs) the coaches will report it to the Athletic Director and school disciplinary action will be followed. A parent meeting will also take place and the cheerleader may be released from the team. Athletes in the Rocky Mountain Cheerleading Program will follow the rules and guidelines of Rocky Mountain High School and the Poudre School District regarding behavior, drugs and alcohol. Absences/Tardies All Athletes are required to attend ALL scheduled practices. You are expected to be on time and present for the entire event, unless prior arrangements with a coach have been made. Only the coaches will make the decision as to whether an absence or a tardy is valid. If absences or tardies become a problem the cheerleader may be asked to leave the team. The following are examples of valid reasons to have an athlete absent from practice vs. invalid reasons. Valid Absences: Death in the family School related function that reflects a grade A contagious illness with a doctor s note Invalid Absences: Work Sickness/not feeling well Social function Too much homework Too busy Please have a parent email the coach as soon as you know of any absences. If it is an emergency, a parent must call or text the coach.
