Guest Pass Fee Passes purchased within 30 days of joining may be applied to the joining fee of a new membership. Maximum purchase of 6 day passes per year. Children under 13 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Youth (<13 yrs.): $5; Teen (13-17): $8; Adult (18+): $11; Family: $20. PAYMENT OPTIONS Monthly E.F.T. Draft Monthly Electronic Funds Transfer Draft is a payment plan that allows a member to pay for a continuous membership in equal monthly payments that are automatically deducted from one s checking or savings account for as long as one belongs to the Y. This payment plan does not lock you into a set period of time, but does require 30 days written notice for cancellation. Due to widespread credit card fraud, credit card draft is no longer available. Other Payment Plans Memberships can also be paid-in-full at time of application using cash, check, major credit and debit cards. Annual membership payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. In the event that a member does not use his/her membership to the extent that was anticipated, no refunds or credits will be issued. Gift Certificates Gift certificates are available for purchase at the member service desk at all three branches as well as online at nwcty.org/gift. 2 All payments must be made at the YMCA s Membership Service Desk only and a computer receipt must be provided.

AGE POLICY In all areas of the YMCA, children under 13 need to be supervised by an adult (18+) unless in a YMCA program. Must be 13 years of age and older to enter and use the Fitness Center. REFUND POLICY Membership fees may be refunded if you move from the Y s service area or due to medical reasons. Refunds are from the date of notification forward, not retroactive. Program Fees will be refunded in the event the Y cancels a class due to insufficient enrollment or facility conflict. If you wish to withdraw from a program the following will apply: 1. All refund requests must be made in writing. 2. If you notify the Y before classes begin, class fee paid less $10 service charge. 3. If you notify the Y after one class meeting, 75% refund less $10 service charge. FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY To Give Back and Provide Support to Our Neighbors. 4. If you notify the Y after two class meetings, 50% refund less $10 service charge. 5. No refund will be approved after three class meetings. 6. Refunds will not be given to participants who fail to use membership or attend classes. 7. All refunds will be processed through our Business Office. Y LITERACY VOLUNTEERS Y Literacy Volunteers provides tutoring services at no charge to both students and tutors of Litchfield County. Services include: one-on-one or small group tutoring, ongoing training for tutors, English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), pair support and continuous collaboration with local libraries. PLANNED GIVING Many friends of the Y choose to help extend the Y s influence beyond their own lifetimes by sharing some of their personal assets. They accomplish this by making a planned gift to the Y s permanent endowment fund. The endowment fund is a powerful permanent legacy to further the work of the Y. WINCHESTER YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU The WYSB has been serving the children and families of the Winchester/Winsted area and surrounding communities for over 35 years. Currently serving over 700 children, we strive to make our area a better place for all families through programs and counseling. WYSB services include art therapy, counseling & case management, therapeutic recreation, as well as, our therapeutic day camp, Rising Star Camp. YMCA WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM This 12-week program is designed to help those who are seeking a healthier weight achieve their goals by making small, modest changes to their daily behaviors and by forming sustainable, healthy habit. REGISTER TODAY & START THE NEW YEAR OFF RIGHT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE Financial assistance for Membership and Programs is available to qualifying individuals and families. Awards are determined on a sliding scale using total household income. There are three ways to receive financial assistance: 1. Income based membership application, 2. Y Cares Membership Assurance Program (free 6 month Membership for existing members losing full-time employment) 3. Financial Assistance application. Applications are available at the membership service desk of each branch. In 2016, over $235,100 was provided to children & families in Northwest CT. Y CARES MEMBERSHIP ASSURANCE PROGRAM Y members who have had an active Y membership in good standing for the past six months and lose their full-time employment are eligible for the Y Cares Membership Assurance Program, which grants them a free membership for up to 6 months. USE ANY YMCA IN NEW ENGLAND Your membership can be used for facility use only (no programs) at any YMCA in New England at no extra charge. Many participating YMCAs have no restrictions on visiting Y members, however some restrictions may include a visit limit or a small guest fee. Our state licensed and NAEYC accredited program brings out the best in children. The Y provides safe, reliable, and convenient child care in a stimulating environment. Our teachers incorporate the Y s core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in daily lessons. Children who are enrolled in Childcare and are Program Members receive 50% off all YMCA Programs. Children who are enrolled in Childcare and are Facility Members receive 10% off all YMCA Programs. PRESCHOOL Children in our preschool program benefit from large and small group activities,allowing them to express their creativity and build their social skills while developing literacy, math and science concepts. Children also build and explore their physical strengths in our gym and on our playground. Our preschool is led by a Connecticut certified teacher who possesses many years of experience. Children are assessed continually, and guided toward developmental benchmarks. INFANT / TODDLER Our highly skilled and caring staff provide early care and education for children 6 weeks - 3 years. We provide your child with a program that focuses on each child s developmental level. Through a variety of daily activities, each child will have an opportunity to explore his or her environment while building a solid skill set for later learning. Each infant is assigned a primary caregiver responsible for all daily activities, feedings, etc. Children are kept on their own unique schedules and we work closely with parents to foster new skills and reach developmental milestones. The Toddler program consists of developmentally appropriate daily activities for two-year-olds, such as circle time, outside time, art and sensory time. Toddlers learn through play and teacher-directed projects. 4 BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM ENROLL NOW! The Torrington Y before and after school program is for children 5-12 yrs. The program offers children fun and educational activities, as well as always important time for homework. The plan is to have that perfect mix of fun while serving as an extension of your child s school day. Our highly qualified staff facilitate the children s learning through a variety of active and quiet activities. Children also have the option to swim twice per week. Early school dismals included if registered. All payments must be made at the YMCA s Membership Service Desk only and a computer receipt must be provided.

NINJA TRAINING CENTER COMING IN EARLY 2019 Come have some fun while you challenge yourself in the New Year as the Y unveils its brand new Ninja Training Center at its Torrington branch. The Center consists of a design that will put you, your kids, your friends to the test and have each learning new skills. You ll undoubtedly walkaway with an incredible sense of accomplishment. From swinging, climbing, running, rolling, crawling, jumping and all in between, a whirlwind of challenges await that combine fitness with adventure. It s an experience like no other in Northwest Connecticut! KINDERNASTICS Ages 3-5 Years. Learn the basics of tumbling and cartwheels in our fun preschool class. Balance beam is introduced as well. 30 minutes. Torrington: Saturday 9:15 am CARTWHEELIN KIDS (BEGINNER) Age 6 and Up. Learn the basics of tumbling and cartwheels in our fun gymnastics beginner class. Balance beam skills are included as well. 45 minutes. Torrington: Saturdays. 9:45 am 6 VERTIMAX EXPLOSIVE TRAINING FOR YOUNG ATHLETES Ages 11-18 Years. Increase your explosive power, agility, lateral acceleration and decrease your injury risk with our safe jump training system. Our VERTIMAX technology is a sophisticated jump training platform with bands that attach to various points to the body for resistance. Using movement s specific in sport, these bands of resistance help influence total body power and acceleration for athletes. But that s not all, participants will learn strength and conditioning exercises as well. Maximum 4 participants per session. 30 minutes. Introduce your child to a variety of fun activities including soccer, obstacle course, basketball, trampolines and hocky in this age appropriate, 45 minute class. Learn more challenging skills like round-offs and back hand springs. Participants must have completed Cartwheelin Kids to attend this course. Torrington: Saturdays 10:30 am TINY TUMBLERS Ages 1 to 3 years. Toddlers learn to twist and roll on their own teaching independence and confidence while building strength and flexibility. Mats are used to roll, twist and flip while a balance beam is offered as well. Torrington: Wednesdays 11:15 am Thursdays 2:00 pm AFTER SCHOOL GYMNASTICS Ages 3-12. Have some fun after school as you learn the basics of gymnastics and progress accordingly. Option to bus child direclty from school. Snack provided. TEEN OFFSEASON STRENGTH & CONDITIONING Ages 13-18 Years. This 8-week program meets twice per week with one of our experienced and talented certified personal trainers with a focus on helping young athletes become bigger, faster and stronger during the offseason.
