Prepare At-A-Glance ASAP. (Gayle sends it out with membership dues in August. Meeting minutes will continue to be sent out to all members once prepared. New Member Certificates we are in need of more. Angie will be in charge of printing them.
Secretary: Absent Directors reports. 2 nd Vice President/ Judges Committee: For VP the main thing would be the signs. I believe the feedback was awesome. I am assuming we are going to continue doing them this way. Please let me know if there are any other comments or concerns about them. Judges committee is still going through some changes. I will contact MaryAnn Aguis about scholarships so Unity can promote them for us. We also need a list of all our events for the year. If you can send that to me that would be great. They are going to promote all events for us. Once again I am sorry that I can t be there. Please let me know if you need anything else from me. It was decided that we will continue using the signs prepared by Exulting Images. It was proposed that the studio who brings the most students receive the signed schedule boards as a Studio Sprit Award to be given at Encore. Thanksgiving Convention November 23-25, 2012 Orlando, Fl, Breakout Convention/Competition February 23-24, 2013 Parliamentarian: Maryann provided Heather with a copy of the By-laws via e-mail. By-laws need to be updated to reflect the ages as passed in November 2011. Minis & Twinkling 6 8, Jr. & Rising 9-12, Teen & Jr. Miss/Mr. 13-15, Sr. & Miss/Mr. Treasurer: The following reports were given. Profit & Loss dated 7/1/11 6/21/12, Breakout Convention & Competition February 2011, Merrill Lynch dated 11/1/11 5/31/12, Scholarship Account dated 11/1/11-6/6/12, Budget Reconciliation 7/1/11-6/30/12, Proposed Budget dated 7/1/12-6/30/13 as well as list of delinquent dues. Anyone wanting to view reports is welcome to contact Gayle Ellerbe. Convention Manager: Annette has suggested a change to the Friday class schedule as is was very difficult last year to have the stage room set up for competition in the morning break it down and set up for class in the afternoon and break it down again to set up for Royal Festival that night. The proposed schedule is to have T/S R/S Competition (9:00 1:00) and Royal Dance Festival (2:00 5:00) Dinner (5:00-5:45) Classes (5:45 8:00 Minis) (5:45 9:30 Jr., Sr. /Prof Level.) Saturday and Sunday classes will remain in the morning- afternoon.
Past President: Breakout Competition/Convention needs to be promoted more. Nancy Dunn will prepare and send out postcard to area studio as the event approaches. New FDM brochure is needed, Nancy will contact Mike of Exulting Images and Miriam will assist Nancy will ideas. DCTES & CBS: Workshop will be September 22-23, 2012 at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Fl. Suggested classes are Lyrical, Jazz and Progression. Heather is working on faculty now and will have schedule out to members in August. Bring A Friend. 1 non-member tuition free with paid member. John Lehre Dance In Concert September 22, 2012 7:30PM don t miss this incredible concert!! The LehreDance style is based on three main elements of movement. Circularity, 3- Dimensionality, & Momentum. These combine to create a form best described as Organically Athletic integrating the approach and fluidity of modern dance with the excitement and energy of jazz dance to create an expressive, engrossing style of movement. A greeter will be available on Saturday to direct teachers and CBS students in the proper direction of classes. Faculty committee: November Faculty needs to be contracted by June 28 th February Faculty needs to be contracted by September 25 th Jr. & Sr. Miss/Mr.: Registration and Rules/ Regulations forms will need to be updated as ages have changed since last year. Suggestions of calling teachers on stage when finalists are on stage as done during scholarship award presentation. Miss/ Mr. Dance Interview question will be ask during the adjudicated classes this year.
Scholarship: Judges committee is responsible for contracting judges and MaryAnn is charge of getting teachers along with Kelly s help for scholarship. Membership letters to support the Royal Scholarship will be sent out in August. Entry fee for scholarship will increase to $45.00 motion placed on the floor by Ronnie Duurloo and 2 nd by Mary Ann Aguis and approved. Gayle moves that we contribute $1000.00 out of the General Fund to the Scholarship Fund., motion was 2 nd by Sally Blackwood and approved. Banquet: Encore: Liz Bevilacqua will be honored this year at Thanksgiving Convention. Basket Raffle with continue. Members please remember to bring a basket as each studio attending is asked to bring a basket. Theme has not yet been decided yet. Mary Ann will decide on a theme once she goes shopping and sees what items she can purchase on sale. Winners of Friday s competitions will again perform at banquet. Kathy Follensbee has asked that anyone who has an interest in stepping in to take on the duties of Encore to contact her. Thoughts of using pre-printed sheets on clip board with a cover sheet in place of the notebook for faculty to write down their outstanding students # s in. BreakOut Convention/Competition: Overall Division winners (12-13+) are invited to perform at November banquet. We need to make sure they get an invitation. Mary Ann Cataldo will handle this. Solo fees need to be increased. Seating is issue during the competition. Is it possible to have a raised stage? Or maybe adjusting the chairs. Will check with Annette/Laura for their thoughts. Merchandising: Items will be restocked and ready for November.
Old Business: Grab N Go lunch will be omitted and FDM will once again offer student lunch on Saturday in November and Sunday in February. Tuition rates will be adjusted for reflect food function prices. Vendor proposal is needed. Annette needs to let us know how many vendors we have room for in Orlando. Main Attraction revamping was tabled for Summer Board discussion and thoughts were we would take the remainder of this year off and continue to ask for suggestions from members on how we should move forward with reintroducing Main Attraction.
