The most important work users may do with their tyres is to keep the inflation pressure at recommended levels. Tyre pressure shall be measured when tyres are cold. Tyres get heated up during operation and pressure increases. Therefore, tyre pressure shall be measured before departing while the tyres are cold and shall be inflated, if missing. Under high loads, tyres shall be inflated with higher pressure. Tyres used with low pressure under high loads get stretched, heated and wear out rapidly. Rotation resistance and thus, fuel consumption increases.
