Entry Rules & Regulations 1. CONSIGNMENTS CLOSE WEDNESDAY, APRIL 13, 2016 AT 5:00 PM. DEADLINE IS DEFINITE. All entries must be received in the Black Hills Stock Show Office by April 13th! The Black Hills Stock Show Horse Sale Committee and Office Will Not accept telephone entries. The Sale Committee may accept or reject any consignment. Their decision is final. Receiving order does not determine sale order. 2. Photos are not required but may help sell your horse IF IT IS A GOOD PHOTO! Photos will be used at the discretion of the Horse Sale Com-mittee. Photos are not guaranteed to be printed in the catalog. A. All photos submitted with consignments for publication are at the risk and liability of the consignor. The Black Hills Stock Show shall not be liable for any copyright infringements. B. If a photo is submitted electronically or on a disc - it is not the responsibility of the committee to make sure it is compatible with our system. When in doubt send both disc/email and hard copy. Also, when submitting photos on a disc make sure it is a jpg or tif file and that the pictures are clearly marked with the horse s name. C. Recommendations for submitting photos: 1. If emailing photos, email to blackhillsstockshow@gmail.com Use jpg or tif format, 300 DPI is best Clearly mark the picture by cosignment name and horse name in the subject line 2. Send original photo that we can scan. Photos that have been printed on regular paper do not reproduce as well as the original. 3. First impressions are everything, so only the highest quality, most flattering, photos will be used. 4. Professional Quality pictures of the sale horse are encouraged and may be used at the discretion of the Sale Committee. 5. Helpful Hints: Horses can be saddled or at halter, but be mindful to have your horse standing square, with ears alert and forward. Try to stand your horse where the background is free of any object if possible. We will accept working shots of horses as well. 3. Consignment fee is $150 per head and must accompany this form. A video of each consignment must also accompany sale entry along with registration papers, signed transfer, and consignment fee. The video shall display the horse at a walk, jog, and lope and any discipline in which the horse is trained. Videos must be DVD or a youtube link. 4. All registration certificates must be in the consignor s name by consignment deadline, NO EXCEPTIONS. THE BLACK HILLS STOCK SHOW WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY DOUBLE TRANSFERS. 5. NO SUBSTITUTES. A $200 withdrawal fee will be charged for any horse that is pulled from the sale without a vet release. (this will be strictly enforced!!) 6. In addition to the Consignment fee of $150, the BHSS will charge an additional: 7% commission on horses selling under $2,500. 6% commission on horses selling from $2,500 - $3,500. 5% commission on horses selling over $3,500. 7. If there are multiple consignments, please indicate which horse would be a priority consignment. Horse Sale Committee will determine catalog order for the consignments. 8. Sale date is Sunday, June 12, 2016. The sale will begin promptly at 1:00 pm at the Kjerstad Event Center at the Central States Fairgrounds. Horses will be previewed from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Event Center at the Fairgrounds. BHSS reserves the right to change time and or location of the horse sale check-in, preview, and sale.
Entry Rules & Regulations 9. Check-in time is 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm Saturday, June 11th. ALL HORSES consigned MUST report to the check-in station at the West end of the Event Center on the Fairgrounds where they will receive their inspection and hip numbers by the Screening Committee. At the time of check-in, all sale horses must present a health certificate, not more than 30 days old, and a negative Coggins test, not more than six months old. Health papers and Coggins will be given to purchasers. Horses will be screened by the Screening Committee for, but not limited to thriftiness, soundness, disposition, and future usefulness. The Screening Committee will consist of at least three people. 10. Horses rejected at screening will not be sold. The consignment fee will not be refunded. All blemishes must be noted on consignment form. 11. Blood and/or urine testing may be done at the discretion of the buyer within twelve (12) hours of the horse changing ownership. 12. All mares that will be sold as bred must have a Vet Certificate issued within ten days of the sale stating that the mare has been checked and is with foal, otherwise the mare will be sold as open. 13. Stalls will be available on the Fairgrounds for sale consignments. The sale will be held in the Kjerstad Event Center at the Central States Fairgrounds. It is the responsibility of the consignor to have his or her consignment(s) present at the Fairgrounds at sale time. Horses will be tied prior to sale at the Kjerstad Event Center. Consignor must furnish feed, water and care for horses until the horse(s) are sold. 14. Final consignment numbers will be at the discretion of the BHSS Horse Sale Committee. 15. All horses consigned to the sale must enter the sale ring, unless screened, and must be sold to a buyer with check written and pre-sented to the clerk for payment. If the animal does not enter the sale ring, a no sale fee will automatically be assessed against the animal plus any applicable fees. 16. All leg wrapping or any other wrapping must be removed prior to entering the Sale Ring. 17. No one will be allowed in the Sale Ring except ringmen and a bonafide seller for the horse. 18. NO SALES - All consigners that No Sale will be charged a flat fee of $200. 19. It is the obligation of the SELLER to notify the auctioneer of any No Sale before the horse leaves the Sale Ring. 20. Number system will be used. Buyers must obtain and sign terms of purchase agreement. 21. The Black Hills Stock Show Management, Central States Fairgrounds or their Employees will not be responsible for any injury to or loss of any animal or accidents thereby or any injury or loss of life to any participants or spectators during the Sale. 22. The Black Hills Stock Show Horse Sale Committee reserves the final and absolute right to interpret these rules and regulations and arbitrarily settle and determine all matters, questions, or differences in regard thereto, or otherwise arising out of, or connected with, or incident to, the Sale. 23. Each consignor accepts the responsibility of guaranteeing his own horse(s) to be in sound, healthy condition and has the privilege of giving additional guarantee on his horse(s) at the time of their sale in the Sale Ring. The Black Hills Stock Show Horse Sale Committee does not act as an agent for or represent either the buyer or seller but merely provides an environment for binding together buyer and seller for the purpose of sale transactions. If an adjustment needs to be made, it must be made between the purchaser and the consignor. 24. All consignors will be held to Terms & Conditions of Consignment whether or not you read and/or sign the contract. 25. If the nominated horse is not accepted for the sale, the entry fee and all related paperwork will be returned to the consignor.
