I N T E R N A T I O N A L S K A T I N G U N I O N Communication No. 1797 Decisions of the ISU Council The ISU Council met on June 7-9, 2013 in Vienna, Austria. The following were among the decisions taken by the Council during the meetings. 1. Membership a) Armenia The Council accepted the change of name of the ISU Member federation to Figure Skating Federation of Armenia (previously Armenia Skating Federation). The Council acknowledged that the President of the Figure Skating Federation of Armenia is Ms. Melanya Stepanyan and the General Secretary is Ms. Lilit Mnatsakanyan. However, the Council concluded that the requirements for ISU membership in the Speed Skating Branch are not fulfilled and decided to suspend the ISU membership for the Speed Skating Branch of the Figure Skating Federation of Armenia with immediate effect. b) Provisional Members Cyprus, Grenada, Morocco The Council reviewed the membership status of the provisional Members, the Cyprus Skating Federation, the Grenada Figure Skating Association and the Association of Moroccan Ice Sports. The Council concluded that the minimum requirements for full membership were not yet fulfilled and/or that there is not sufficient evidence that the Skaters of these provisional Members competed in International Competitions. The Council decided to maintain the provisional membership status of these 3 federations and to review their status again during its Council meeting in June 2014. 2. Definite Allotment of 2014 ISU Championships In accordance with Rule 127 of the ISU Regulations, the Council has definitely allotted the Championships for 2014 as follows: Speed Skating: Essent ISU European Speed Skating Championships Norges Skøyteforbund to be held in Hamar, Norway on January 11-12, 2014 Essent ISU World Sprint Speed Skating Championships Japan Skating Federation to be held in Nagano, Japan on January 18-19, 2014 ISU World Junior Speed Skating Championships Norges Skøyteforbund to be held in Bjugn, Norway on March 7-9, 2014 1

Provisional Allotments 2015 ISU Championships In accordance with Rule 127 of the ISU Regulations the Council has provisionally allotted the following ISU Championships: Synchronized Skating: ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships Skate Canada to be held in Hamilton/Canada April 10-11, 2015 Speed Skating: As announced in ISU Communication 1742, the Dates of the 2015 Speed Skating Championships were subject to adjustments pending a review of the Speed Skating part of this Calendar. A basic new Standardized Calendar has been worked out by the Speed Skating Technical Committee and accepted by the Council. The basic new time line is as follows: Week 2: ISU European Speed Skating Championships (unchanged) Week 7: ISU World Single Distances Speed Skating Championships Week 8: ISU World Junior Speed Skating Championships Week 9: ISU World Sprint Speed Skating Championships 2

Week 10: ISU World Allround Speed Skating Championships The corresponding dates are being reviewed with the organizing Members concerned and published once a consensus has been found. New Provisional Allotments 2016 Championships Speed Skating: As announced in ISU Communication 1742, the ISU was reviewing the Speed Skating part of the Standardized Calendar and in ISU Communication 1779 it was pointed out that the ISU reserves the right to change the Standardized Calendar. In the meantime, a basic new Standardized Calendar for ISU Speed Skating Events has been worked out by the Speed Skating Technical Committee and accepted by the Council. While the Minimum Total Technical Score must be reached separately in each segment (not a total of the two segments), the Minimum Total Technical Score for each segment may be reached at different competitions. *) the required minimum Total Technical Score for the Short Program/Short Dance and the Free Skating/Free Dance segment to participate in the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships can only be obtained in registered International Junior Competitions/Championships. 7. Judges Draw ISU Figure Skating & Synchronized Skating Championships 2014 The annual Judges Draw for the 2014 Figure Skating & Synchronized Skating Championships shall be held on October 9, 2013 in Zurich/Switzerland. 5

Declaration for Competitors and Officials entering ISU Events (Rule 131) The Council agreed to amend the Declaration form that was included in ISU Communication No.1628 by adding a new paragraph VII) stating the following: VII) I agree that the ISU shares with my National Anti-Doping Organization all my personal data with relevance for the Athlete Biological Passport according to the WADA Operating Guidelines. New offices ISU Secretariat Lausanne - Real Estate Investment The Council unanimously decided to accept an offer to buy office space for the ISU Secretariat in a building in Lausanne. The purchase of these offices will ensure sufficient office space for the ISU Secretariat in the medium and long term and also constitutes a diversification of the ISU s investments. The move to the new offices is planned for late 2015 only and the details will be communicated in due course.
