Qualification Requirements : 1. Holder of the nationality of the participating team. 2. A participant must be nominated by the pertinent Club and / or National Taekwondo Association that is recognized by the World Taekwondo and/or by their National Olympic Committee. 3. Holder of the following belts: Holder of Taekwondo Dan certificate for Seniors. For Juniors and Cadets from 1 st Kup and above. 4. All Athletes who wish to participate in any World Taekwondo (WT) recognized event must have WT Global Athlete License (GAL) and Coaches must have Global Official License (GOL). The WT Global License is a mandatory requirement for all athletes and officials (Coach, Referee, Official, Doctor, Physio & Executives) who wish to participate in any World Taekwondo (WT) recognized event. 5. An athlete must be born to be eligible for participation as follows: 2005, 2006, 2007 for Cadets 2002, 2003, 2004 for Juniors 2002 and before for Seniors 6. The age limits for each division is based on the year, not on the date, when the Championships are held. 7. All competitors must prove their age by presenting their passport or identification card at the official weigh-in. Membership to an MNA will be checked by the organizer. 8. For the athletes that are underaged, a written consent must be submitted (please find enclosed on the last pages) at the registration, signed by parents or legal guardians, accepting their participation and all parts of the official invitation. System of Competition : Single elimination tournament system.
Contest Time : Cadets: 2 rounds of 2 minutes each with a 30 seconds break Juniors: 3 rounds of 1.30 minutes each with a 30 seconds break Seniors: 3 rounds of 2 minutes each with 1-minute break between each round. The contest time per round is a subject to change, depending on participation Protests : Protests must be made as per competition rules by the official coach within 10 minutes after the end of the pertinent contest to the Technical Delegate. Protest fee is 200 and nonrefundable. The decision of the Referees Chairman is final. Limit of Athletes & Deadline : Limit of athletes 1000. The deadline to register athletes for participation and to send in all relevant forms is set at 15 January 2019, 23:59 CET. Registration must be done via WT GMS System. (https://worldtkd.simplycompete.com). When the limit of 1.000 athletes has been reached the registration will automatically be closed. Registration Notice : Registration of a contestant is only valid once the World Taekwondo Europe Bank Account has received the entry-fee payment in full. Any athlete registering on-line who does not take part in the competition and who has not been removed from the entry list before the deadline (15 January 2019) OR when the limit of 1.000 athletes has been reached, is liable for paying his/her entry-fee in full. (For any athlete not presenting at registration, his/her team or official will be liable for ensuring full payment has been received, prior to the team s participation). The entry fee is non-refundable. Each Team is required to present a copy of the bank transaction, as proof of entry-fee payment at the Registration Centre. Any team unable to present a copy of the Bank transaction will be required to pay in cash to the Organizer Representative responsible onsite. If a team does not show up at the event and has not requested a participation cancellation before the deadline, it will be requested to settle the payment of the entry fees in full (100%). Protector & Scoring System: At the championships PSS DAEDO (GEN2) will be use. The Organizing Committee will provide DAEDO trunk protector and DAEDO E-headgear. Participating contestants are required to bring their own groin guards, forearm guards, shin guards, mouthpieces, gloves and sensing socks for their personal use. Athletes in CADETS should also bring their own Head protector with face protector (red/blue/white colour only). Recognized Brands : Participating contestants are required to wear WT-recognized doboks and WT-recognized protective equipment, otherwise access to the field of play will be rejected. Anti-doping Regulations : The WT Anti-Doping Rules, and where necessary the Code of the World Anti Doping Agency, shall apply throughout the competitions. Compulsory anti-doping tests will be carried out for all finalists, while random tests will be conducted among the quarter- and semi-finalists who failed to advance to the (semi-)final. The WT and/or WADA may carry out random out-of-competition testing prior to the championship. Therefore, all participating contestants are required to submit their latest and most accurate Athlete Location (Whereabouts Info) Forms to the WT. The 2019 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods available at: https://www.wada-ama.org/en/resources/sciencemedicine/prohibited-list Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) : Athletes who take any substance or medicine listedin the Prohibited List of the WT Anti- Doping Rules and Anti-Doping Code of World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) for therapeutic purposes are requested to visit the website of WADA and make online filing of their TUE applications on ADAMS http://www.wada- ama.org/en/adams/ and report to the WT Sport Department at marcoienna@worldtaekwondo.org by no later than 13th January 2019. It is the responsibility of each registered team to ensure and guarantee that all competitors have an Athletic Insurance (specially for participation in sports events) which has to be presented during the onsite registration. Without sufficient insurance coverage, national teams/clubs will not be allowed to compete. Please fill out the Personal Indemnity Forms and return them to the Organization Committee before 11 January 2019. Each participant (athletes, team officials, etc.) has to fill out the indemnification form.
Draw of lots : All athletes in Seniors will be seeded according to the most updated and published WT Global Ranking. The draw sheets and brackets will be available one (1) day before the start of the competition of the respective category. The draw will be carried out for all weight categories electronically (after the weigh-in is completed). Weigh-in : The weigh-in of the athletes takes place one (1) day prior to the start of the respective weight category they compete in. During the weigh-in, the male athlete shall wear underpants and the female athlete shall wear underpants and brassiere. However, the athlete may weigh in nude if he/she wishes to do so. Random Weigh-in : Random weigh-in will be conducted according to WT rules. On the day of the competition, at 06:00 am the randomly selected athletes will be published on the organizer s website, on the organizer s facebook page and on the OVR s website. Only those athletes selected for the random weigh-in need to be in the venue at 07:30 hrs. Transportation & Accommodation : Round trip airfare shall be borne by the participating teams. Transportation and Accommodation will be only organized for the International Referees and for the Technicians. Participating teams (athletes, coaches, officials), will undertake their own Transportation and Accommodation arrangements. Accommodation (Hotels) information on the final page of the Invitation. Visa : If your Team Members need visa to enter Cyprus, please return the completely filled-in Visa Details form to the Organizing Committee until of 20th December 2018 and be sure to inform the OC of the location of the Embassy to which your team will apply for visa. The Organizing Committee cannot guarantee entry into Cyprus and can only offer assistance. It is the responsibility of each MNA/Club to apply for and secure the correct entry visa for Cyprus.
Condition for Participation: Proof of membership by valid National Federation passport with WTE / WT membership. All contestants have to proof their age and nationality by presenting their passport or identification card at weigh-in. Those who are not recognized as adults by law in their own country must submit a passport or identification card together with a written consent (liability declaration) of their parents or lawful guardian accepting the participation and all parts of the official invitation. Liability: All competitors of the Cyprus Open participate at their own risk. The registration application implies that the contestants agree all responsibility for themselves and to release all others from all and any liability which may directly or indirectly results from the Cyprus Open. Equipment: WT- recognized PSS+E-helmet shall be provided for all competition areas and all weight divisions (cadets, juniors and seniors). Only WT recognized Equipment Cadets, Juniors and Seniors: WT- recognized PSS protector and Head gear scoring systems. Groin / forearm / shin guards and gloves are compulsory and must be brought by the contestant. Mouth piece is compulsory! Referees: All referees will be contacted and invited by the Referee Committee of Cyprus. Hotel and Full Board accommodation will be provided for international referees from 31 January to 03 February. (4 nights only). Coaches: The minimum qualification requirements for coaches are as follows : 1. All Coaches must be at least 18 years of age. 2. All Coaches / Trainers must be holders of the World Taekwondo Europe Coach License or the respective CU Coach License (granted by participation in a CU Coach Seminar). Coaches / Trainers that do not have the CU Coach License shall pay a 200, - ( euro paid on spot) penalty at the registration desk. 3. Coaching is not allowed wearing dobok. Sport Entry : Team entries will only be accepted through the WT online registration system (https://worldtkd.simplycompete.com) and registration is only possible with a valid WT Global License & WT Event Pass. The GMS administrator wil be notified via e-mail once the online registration is open. Entry Fee: 1. 100.00 for each contestant via bank transfer. Entry Fee must be transferred to the account below until the deadline by the 15th of January 2019 without any costs for the organizer. 2. If the athlete registered online (https://worldtkd.simplycompete.com) does not take part in the competition for some reason, but he / she has not been removed from the list of participants before the deadline (15.01.19), his / her team official must fully (100%) pay his / her entry fee for participation. 3.
