Identification. Manufacturer Fumex AB Verkstadsvägen 9 Skellefteå, Sweden Tel: + (0)90-80 Email: info@fumex.se Technical specification. Design Exhaust hose reel ASEM, see Fig... Product name ASE. Year of manufacture 0. Area of use Fumex ASEM is a motorised hose reel intended for evacuation of exhaust gases and prevents obtrusive hoses lying on the floor. The hose reel takes up little space and can be mounted on the ceiling or wall. Explosive gases must not be removed! To preserve the validity of the product warranty, it is forbidden to modify or re-engineer the product during the warranty period without first obtaining prior approval from Fumex. This is also applicable to any spare parts used which do not comply with the manufacturer's specifications. Damage that is not due to normal use of the product will result in: - the warranty being voided. - the EC(CE) declaration of conformity being voided. Fig.. Declaration of conformity Fumex hereby declares that the motorised hose reel ASEM complies with all applicable provisions in directives and standards as follows: - Machinery Directive 00//EC - EMC Directive 00/08/EC - Safety of Machinery EN ISO 00: 00 - Electrical Equipment of Machines EN 00- For signed declarations, please contact Fumex. ASEM consists of brackets (), cross members (), duct connection (), retractor reel device (), hose () and motor () with manual knob (). See Fig. &.. Function Fig. The exhaust hose reel is designed for use as a suction device for vehicle exhausts. Contaminated air is sucked into the hose by a separate fan which is connected to the duct connection. The retractor reel device then adjusts the amount of hose that is spooled out/in.

. Technical data. Electrical installation o0 (), (8) 9, () () 8, (8) 0, () () 89, (8) 09, () 9 A lockable safety switch (for example, SSB 0) must be used for infeeding so that safe servicing can be carried out. The motor is supplied with 0 V N ~ and installed according to the circuit diagram (see section.. Circuit diagram electronics).. Safety Note that electronic equipment is always sensitive to static electricity, high humidity and temperature, as well as network disturbances. 0 9 90 9.. Activation The product is safe to use. It is designed in such a way that hazardous parts only occupy restricted areas. Even so, if the product is not used correctly or as intended, it may be hazardous to the user or cause damage to the product. The user should therefore be informed and trained to handle the product s safety features. To minimize work-related accidents and injuries during use, risk reduction has been carried out as follows: - built-in safety in the design. - technical protection such as barriers, etc. - information for use such as user instructions and labels, etc. o0 o00 Fig. The machine/system may only be used in perfect technical condition and in accordance with the user instructions. Hazards If any safety-related changes to the system or its operational functions arise, the system must be shut down immediately and this must be reported to the person in charge. In addition to the user instructions, national and local safety and accident prevention regulations must be followed when operating the product. When guards, barriers or hoods need to be removed for maintenance, repair or adjustment work, the machine/system must be locked in order to minimise the risk of accident. This is described in greater detail in chapter. Electrical installation. Note that moving parts in the system always pose a risk (e.g. cutting, clamping or gripping points). * Excluding hose. ** Temperature resistance depends on the hose selection. For other temperatures, contact Fumex

Preparation for use. Qualifications Work on the machine must always be carried out by authorised personnel. Repair or alteration of the machine s electrical equipment may only be performed by certified electricians or persons being directly supervised by certified electricians, in accordance with national electrical regulations.. Electrical equipment The electrical equipment in the product must be inspected regularly. Any defects such as loose connections or crushed cables must be rectified immediately!. Transport and storage Protect the machine s parts from rain, snow, aggressive atmospheres and other harmful effects.. Installation and assembly.. Assembly Assembly may only be carried out under consideration of these assembly instructions and applicable regulations.. Remove all the packaging from the product... Hose selection Select the appropriate hose length, see table, and below. If you are using your own hose, the optional AESM is available which is a custom hose fitting kit and complies with the safety requirements for the product. For information relating to ASEM see section 8 Accessories. Remove the roller from the pallet and install it onto the ceiling/wall using correctly dimensioned fastening elements.. Check the roller and the ventilation ducts properly, so that foreign objects are not present. Remove any such objects immediately.. Seal and install the ventilation duct directly against the duct connection on the roller or use a sleeve between the duct and roller (see chapter 8 Accessories).. Check that the seals and connections on the roller and the ventilation duct are tight.

Operating instructions. Installation and startup.. Before startup Before startup the device, read the instructions provided in chapter. Safety... Assembly and operation Any faults must be rectified before operational startup.. Check that all electrical connections are correctly performed according to the circuit diagram in section.. Circuit diagram electronics.. Turn on the power supply.. Check that the rotation of the motor corresponds to the marking (, Fig. ), on both the motor and switch (for example, ASEM ).. Draw any reducers (, Fig. ) through the hose connection (). Fit the hose () with hose clamps ().. Secure the hose by first placing the rubber cloth () around the hose. Then insert the hose clamps () through the holes () and around the rubber cloth to lock securely.. Adjust the limit position for retracting using a set screw (, Fig. ). If the motor stops before the hose is rolled up in the correct position, make an adjustment by turning the set screw to +. If the motor retracts the hose too far, run the hose out slightly and then adjust by turning the set screw to -. Repeat until the limit position is correct. 8. Fit the nozzle. 9. The hose reel is now ready for operation! When the power is off, pull the manual lever (, Fig. ) out to rotate the hose in or out. Fig.. Then adjust the limit position for unrolling with a set screw (). The direction of the roller s hose connection must be as shown in Fig., when fully unrolled. If the motor stops before the hose connector is in the correct position, make an adjustment by turning the set screw to +. If the motor rotates the connection too far, run the motor back slightly. Then adjust by turning the set screw to -. Repeat until the limit position is correct. Fig. OK Fig.

Troubleshooting. Troubleshooting guide Section. Electrical installation must be taken into account when troubleshooting is required! Problem. The hose does not stop in the correct position.. The motor is not capable of retracting the hose.. Leakage sound in bearing. Possible cause The limits are set incorrectly. Hose or nozzle is too heavy. The negative pressure in the system is too high. Bearing worn out. Actions Adjust the limits, see.. Assembly and operation. Install ASEMS 0, see section 8 Accessories. Lower the negative pressure (max. 00 Pa). Change bearing. Care Instructions. Activation Disruptions caused by lack of or faulty maintenance may result in high costs for the machine. The checklist for maintenance is designed for normal use of the machine. The recommended intervals are approximate and refer to the time after the first startup. Depending on the changing operating conditions between the different systems, the intervals for recommended maintenance may differ. The user should therefore determine their own maintenance intervals. Please remember that only original spare parts may be used. When replacing damaged fasteners, only those of identical quality (strength, material) and type may be used.. Safety instructions Troubleshooting with an active power supply is extremely dangerous and should therefore only be carried out when absolutely necessary. In which case, only trained and qualified personnel must be used. Make sure that the roller is not in operation when maintenance work is performed. The machine is locked by ensuring the safety switch is in the off position with a lock, see. Electrical installation. Also place a warning sign on the switch. Make sure that all moving parts are secured to prevent unintentional movement.. Maintenance.. Checklist maintenance Device Interval Item Inspection module Maintenance instructions Date Daily. Hose Check that the hose is intact. Replace if necessary. Hose reel Every three months.. Hose connections Hose reel Check the fastening on hose connections. Look for leaks, damage and wear.
