GENERAL INFORMATION Arena location : This competition will be located at: Aréna Shawville 215 rue Lang Shawville, Québec J0X 2Y0 Téléphone : 819-647-3801 Rink Dimensions The rink dimensions are : 85 x 185 Responsibilities Skate Canada, Québec Figure Skating Federation, the regional association and Shawville Figure Skating Club take no responsibility for damages or injuries suffered by the skaters. As a condition of, and in consideration of their entries therein, all competitors and their parents, or guardians, shall be deemed to agree to assume all risks of injury to the competitors person and property resulting from, caused by or connected with the conduct and management of the competition. The participants will release any and all claims, which they may have against the officials, Skate Canada, the Quebec Section, Shawville Figure Skating Club, the volunteers and their officers and their entries shall be accepted on these conditions. Conduct of Competitors 1) Competitors are bound to obey implicitly the instructions of the officials in charge of the competition. 2) A competitor who, directly or indirectly, expresses himself in an improper manner regarding the officials or their decisions or regarding the marking of the judges may be suspended and/or excluded from further competition. Restrictions The committee reserves the right to limit the number of participants in each category. The decision of the committee is final. Registrations Each skater must sign and return the completed registration form indicating the category(ies) in which he/she wishes to participate. Teams must complete the appropriate form. Shawville Winter Invitational C.P. 326 Shawville, Québec J0X 2Y0 Entries filed after the closing date specified in the announcement may be accepted only at the discretion of the committee in charge. Registration Fees 50 $ Per event 40 $ each additional event 55 $ per team The cheques must be made payable to Shawville Winter Invitational and dated at the latest January 25, 2016. Any cheque dated after January 25, 2016 will not be accepted. There will be no refunds after the deadline unless the event is cancelled or registration withdrawn before deadline date. A $40 fee will be applied on all NSF cheques. Deadline for testing The deadline for testing is the same as the deadline for registration. Calculation of results CPC For Canskate, the results are calculated seperatley, because skaters don t compete against each other for a ranking. Awards are given based on the level of performance obtained. (Participation, Bronze, Silver or Gold). Same system but with ranking for STAR 4 and Teams. Music Each skater must provide two (2) CDs at registration. Registration All skaters must register upon their arrival at the arena a minimum of one hour before the beginning of their scheduled event. At that time they will hand in to the person-in-charge: two (2) CDs, clearly identified with their name, category, priority (1 or 2) and the length of their program. The Committee will be responsible for the music until the end of the competition. Certified coaches, who are members of Skate Canada, must register; presenting their photo ID cards (no exceptions) and they should wear them at all times. A completed Level 1 is required for all coaches except new coaches (photo ID as proof of eligibility required). Admission Compétition Invitation Shawville 2016 / Shawville Winter Invitational 2016 4

Adult : 5 $ Weekend Pass : 8 $ Free : less than 12 years old. A skater and one chaperone will receive free entry. Certified coaches will receive free entry on presentation of their photo identity card. Prizes Medals shall be presented to the top three places in each event in accordance with the rules. In the case of only two entries, each entry will be awarded a medal. In the case of only one participant, the skater will receive a medal. For the Patinage Plus and STAR 1-3 skaters, they receive a ribbon and certificate as per their level attained. For the STAR 4 skaters, medals will be presented to the top three places as per the standings of the performance and all participants will receive a certificate as per their level attained. Trophy A trophy will not be given to the club with the highest points. Competition Schedule A tentative schedule will be sent to coaches and clubs after the deadline date for registration. Formation of groups If the number of participants allows more than one group, the split will be done by age, as per the Skate Canada rules. ANNEXE 2- STAR SKATING- INDIVIDUAL ADMISSION For all categories, skaters must be eligible under the Skate Canada rules of section 5000. The skaters must not register in a STAR category after being registered in «Championnats A ou B de Section» and/or «Sous-Section» of current year for the same discipline. Skaters registered in Championnats B de section may not participated in the Finale régionale de patinage STAR in the same discipline for the current year. Current Year: 1 July 2015 au 30 June 2016 Skaters have the right to register in a higher category. Skaters have the right to register in two categories in the same discipline (e.g.preliminary and Junior Bronze in singles). Skaters enrolled in Jeux du Québec régionaux may not register in a STAR category for the same discipline. STAR 1 Competitors must not have passed any part of the Senior Bronze free style test (the competition is for skaters who do not have more than three single jumps). The elements are evaluated according to standards (merit, bronze, silver or gold). STAR 2 Competitors must not have passed any part of the Senior Bronze free style test(designed for skaters who do not have more than five different single jumps). Vocal music is not permitted. The individual elements, skating skills, performance / execution (focus on holding the line and shape) and the components are assessed according to standards (merit, bronze, silver and gold). Ladies -Men - A program with a duration of 2 minutes (+ / 10 seconds) STAR 3 Competitors must not have passed any part of the Senior Bronze Free Style test. (Designed for skaters who have not yet mastered double jumps and train for the Junior Bronze Free Skate test.) Vocal music is not permitted. The individual elements, skating skills, performance / execution and interpretation are evaluated according to standards (merit, bronze, silver and gold). (Designed for skaters who have passed the Preliminary Free Skate Test and train with double jumps, but are not yet ready to move to Pre-Juvenile or pass the Senior Bronze Test.) Vocal music is not permitted. The 5 STAR competitions are scored according to the CPC and skaters are graded. Four components are noted: skating skills, transitions, performance / execution and interpretation. Spins shall not be designated at a higher level than B. Ladies-Men Who have not reached 10 years as of July 1 preceding the competition. A program with a duration of 2 minutes ( +/- 10 seconds) Ladies-Men - Who have not reached 13 years as of July 1 preceding the competition. ANNEXE 2-STAR-DANCE Mixed couple Partners of same sex (One skater executes steps of male, one skater executes steps of female) GOLD Test: At least on partner must have completed the Gold dance test, but neither must have completed the «Diamant» dance test Two given dances as per the technical package for preparation of STAR competitions (SKATE CANADA) SENIOR SILVER Test: At least one partner must have completed the Senior Silver dance test, but none must have completed the Gold dance test. Skaters have the right to register in a higher category than their qualifications. INTERPRETIVE-SINGLES Men GOLD Test: Passed the Gold Interpretive Test. Maximum time of 3 minutes for program Women SILVER Test: Passed the Silver Interpretive Test, but no Test at a higher level. Maximum time of 3 minutes for program BRONZE Test: Passed the Bronze Interpretive Test, but no Test at a higher level. Maximum time of 3 minutes for program INTRODUCTORY Test: Passed the Introductory Interpretive Test, but no Test at a higher level. Maximum time of 2 minutes for program PRE-INTRODUCTORY Test: No Interpretive Test passed. ANNEXE 4-CANSKATE-Étoile ADMISSION For all categories, skaters must eligible under the Skate Canada rules in Section 5000. The skaters can be registered in Patinage Plus or Patinage STAR as per Skate Canada, but no test or no part of a STAR test can have been passed.(danse, skills or free style). The skaters have private or semi-private lessons with a professional coach between September 1 and March 31. TECHNICAL INFORMATION This competition is a circuit and the skaters execute their performance to music provided. Contact leannesmart@hotmail.com for the music. The preparation kit for competitions must be consulted to see the required circuits, the standards and the required music. No element can be added to the circuit. Helmet is obligatory for Etoile 4». ANNEXE 6-Team Events- STAR ADMISSION. For all categories, skaters must be eligible under the Skate Canada rules in section 5000. Skaters have the right to register in a higher category than their qualification. A team must consist of at least 3 skaters at most 4. Each skater will be allowed to do a maximum of two elements. Any substitution of skaters must be approved by the technical representative of the competition. 50% of the skaters of the team must have passed the required test to register for event. Teams can be formed by skaters from different clubs. The elements will be skated in the order announced. Each element will be executed twice, but the best will be counted. TECHNICAL INFORMATION Age : No Age limit for these categories TEAM SENIOR SILVER / GOLD Test : Passed the Senior Silver or Gold free style test. TEAM JUNIOR SILVER Test : Passed the Junior Silver free style test, but no test at a higher level. TEAM SENIOR BRONZE Test : Passed the Senior Bronze free style test, but no test at a higher level.
