If splashed into the eyes, flush with water for 15 minutes or until irritation subsides. If irritation persists, consult a physician. INGESTION: If ingested, DO NOT induce vomiting. Consult a physician immediately. If ingested, material may be aspirated into the lungs and cause chemical pneumonitis. SECTION 5 FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Appropriate Extinguishing Media: Foam, water spray (fog), dry chemical, carbon dioxide and vaporizing liquid type fire extinguishing agents may all be suitable for extinguishing fires and circumstances related to the situation. Firefighters should use standard protective equipment and in enclosed spaces, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). Use water spray to cool fire exposed surfaces and to protect personnel. SECTION 6 ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES NOTIFICATION PROCEDURES: In the event of a spill or accidental release, notify relevant authorities in accordance with all applicable regulations. US regulations require reporting releases of this material to the environment which exceed the applicable reportable quantity or oil spills which could reach any waterway including intermittent dry creeks (please refer to your local and/or state regulations on spill reporting for alerting the proper local authorities). Page 4 of 10 EMERGENCY PROCEDURES: Land Spill: Stop leak if you can accomplish it without risk. Recover product by pumping or with suitable absorbent. Use booms if necessary to dike spill. Water Spill: Stop leak if you can accomplish it without risk. Confine the spill immediately with booms. Remove from the surface by skimming or with suitable absorbents. Seek the advice of a specialist before using dispersants. Water and land spill recommendations are based on the most likely spill scenario for this material; however, geographic conditions, wind, temperature, (and in the case of a water spill) wave, current direction and speed may greatly influence the appropriate action to be taken. Note: Local regulations may prescribe or limit action to be taken. The previous mentioned measures are recommendations only, thus local experts should be consulted to maintain spill remediation compliance. Supplied air respirators with an escape bottle may be appropriate when oxygen levels are inadequate, gas/vapor warning properties are poor, or if air-purifying filter capacity/rating may be exceeded. Page 8 of 10 CHRONIC/OTHER EFFECTS: For the product itself: Prolonged or repeated skin contact with this product tends to remove skin oils, possibly leading to irritation and dermatitis; however, based on human experience and available technological data, this product is judged to be neither a corrosive nor an irritant by OSHA criterion. Product contacting the eyes may cause irritation. Product has a low order of acute oral or dermal toxicity, but minute amounts aspirated into the lungs during ingestion or vomiting may cause mild to severe pulmonary injury and possibly death. In accordance with current OSHA Hazard Communication Standard criterion, this product does not require a cancer warning. This is because the product is formulated from base stock which is severely hydro-treated, severely solvent extracted, and/or processed by mild hydro-treatment and extraction. SECTION 12 ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION The information given is based on data available for the material, the components of the material, and similar materials. ECOTOXICITY: Material -- Not expected to be harmful to aquatic organisms. MOBILITY: Base oil component -- Low solubility and floats and is expected to migrate from water to the land.
