Verse for handwriting competition September Oh I wish that summer would stay longer, And autumn not come so fast. Oh I wish that August would last forever And not run away to the past. Those days of ice creams and sun and fun, When shorts and tee shirts are all we need. When the heat beats down every day And we can relax and sunbathe indeed. But now we dig out our hats and gloves And scarves and sweaters and boots, For autumn is coming oh too fast And taking the hot summer away. 23
