Eligibility - Test and Pre-requisites Competitors wishing to enter events during the 2017-2018 skating season must meet the following test and age prerequisites/deadlines: COMPETITIVE STREAM Test requirements requirement Before midnight of the closing date of entries Before July 1 st preceding the competition STARSKATE/ADULT STREAM/PRE-JUVENILE AND JUVENILE Test requirements requirement Before midnight of the closing date of entries Before July 1 st preceding the competition Any skater entered in an age-restricted category for which they are not age-qualified shall be disqualified and not permitted to change categories after the start of the competition. Entry fees shall not be refunded. Competition Entry Fees COMPETITIVE STREAM: $90.00 per part short or free program - Pre-Novice, Novice, Junior and Senior STARSKATE STREAM (STARSkate, Pre-Juvenile, Juvenile, Adult, Special Olympic): $ 55.00 Element events $ 55.00 per entry Star 1 Free Skating $ 75.00 per entry Star 2 and 3 Free Skating $ 90.00 per entry Star 4 to Gold Free Skating (including Adults) $ 90.00 per Pre-Juvenile and Juvenile Singles events $ 90.00 per entry Interpretive (including Adults) $ 90.00 per person per Interpretive Couples event $ 90.00 per entry Special Olympics PLANNED PROGRAM SHEETS Planned Program Content sheets must be submitted to the LOC by April 6, 2018 at the latest. Refunds, Exhibitions and Skating Up REFUND OF ENTRY FEES: Entry fees shall be refunded only if the event is not held or if the entry is withdrawn before the date of closing of entries. If only one skater is entered in an event, that skater has the option to compete in the next highest event (whenever possible), skate an exhibition or withdraw from the competition. The LOC will contact the skater and the skater will have 48 hrs to convey their decision back to the LOC and this decision shall be final. If an answer is not received, the event will be cancelled. If there are fewer than three participants in an Interpretive event with age divisions, then this Interpretive event will be combined with the same level of Interpretive event with a different age division. Skaters wishing to skate an exhibition will be charged the regular skating fee. This fee will include feedback from the judging panel via the ISU report card. No medals are awarded for exhibition skates. Schedule The schedule of events will be made available on the Skate Canada NB website. Electronic mail will also be the primary method of communication with Skaters and Coaches. Competition at all SCNB sanctioned events shall NOT commence before 8 am or be scheduled to conclude any later than 10 pm (4 pm on Sundays). Note that the Technical Representative and the LOC reserve the right to cancel events for reasons of logistical constraints. Any such decision will be communicated accordingly to the membership via email and/or the Skate Canada NB website.
