Welcome... Thank you for spending the time to engage in our 2018 Spring Sale at Paringa. We genuinely appreciate your enquiry and support of our repeat customers. Looking back on the last 12 months, Paringa bred bulls have found new homes in every state and territory. And tailor made bulls for customers have successfully reached their destinations across the country. Our goal as a bull breeder is to be dedicated, disciplined and well researched, and 100% focused on our customers, while helping them increase on farm profitability. At the same time we do not lose sight of the farm to fork eating experience in meat quality. As Seed stock producers, we believe it is our role to: 1. Select animal populations using a selection response Index that includes key profit drivers: calves born alive, fertility, feed efficiency, carcase merit and longevity. The ABI and $Profit Indexes are the best and most simple way to account for the most heritable economic traits. 2. Develop beef programs that utilise the benefits of heterosis and beef differences. Our Stabilizer with $Profit will produce more per Heterosis/ha than any other. 3. Only work with high ranking populations, as the best of the best. This Black Angus group is one of the highest ranked bull team in Australia on Breedplan, the result of a planned breeding program. 4. Understand feed efficiency and fertility drivers. We have been selecting for this for over 20 years, with the best information available to us at the time. For example, rather than entering cattle in a feed efficiency test, we have used a selection index that includes feed efficiency, or selected new genetics that are already ranked for FE. Breedplan & $Profit Systems Breeding systems that rank animals in their population on heritable economic traits are our most powerful tools, particularly indexes. But if the parameters are wrong then they can be damaging. By submitting our data into both systems keeps everything in check and balanced, and keeps us as seed stock breeders accountable; traits such as Intake, Cow Maintenance and Maternal calving ease. An added advantage of $Profit system is the extra cow sense behind it, not published in the data set here; with no breed bias it aims to assist traits to move in the right direction and recognises the all breeds potential. $Profit is also a global database comparing our animals to another 1.4 million others. Breeding Indexes Why? Breeding indexes are the most powerful tool for the commercial producer. Once we understand what an Index takes into account, in terms of traits, it takes the guesswork out of analysing the data set yourself. Genomics, on farm measurements and a bit of cow sense are all vital inputs into breeding indexes. SPRING 18 BULL SALE OFFERING This is the first major offering of TCA Visionary progeny to sell, after selling a handful in the Autumn Online sale. They were very well received, and we think you will like this Spring line up of Visionary bulls too. Just wished we had used him earlier! Check out our commentary in the Reference sire section of the catalogue to learn more about his many excellent features. Note N71 is a stand out son of Visionary in this sale group, with Stud Potential. GAR Sunrise, G188 and two unique sons of McPhee Trophy offer exciting options for Angus programs. Worth noting that this year s Paringa Angus offering are 100% Genomics tested and parent verified. While hard to fathom in our part of Victoria, we have been trying to gauge the ramifications of the prolonged and wide spread drought. This in turn has led us to the decision to reduce the number of bulls being offered at this year s Spring Helmsman Sale at Yea. However in addition to the high end sale bulls, we will have plenty of paddock bulls available into October, in particular a great selection of high ABI and $Profit Black Angus bulls, on a first in first served basis. Which in the hope our northern friends get much needed rain; there will be a good selection of bulls still available before joining season. Checking out our super Stabilizer sires Paringa Moneymaker L809 has come up trumps this year after proving himself across commercial operations in NSW. Not far behind is Wolf Pack and Apollo, who s sons are also phenomenal this year. Again this year we will be holding our Ballarat on property bull sale in October, with 30 black bulls available by Helmsman Auction. Sale Information SALE DATE AND PRIOR INSPECTION Selling will commence at 1pm, on Thursday 13th September, 2018. Bulls may be inspected from 10am on the morning of the sale, or at another time by arrangement with the agents or vendors. SELLING SYSTEM Sale of animals will be conducted under Helmsman auction terms and conditions. Please register with the selling agents to obtain a buyers number if you are considering making a purchase. Successful purchasers are requested to give written advice to the selling agents regarding transport arrangements at the conclusion of the sale. REBATE A 2% rebate to all outside agents who attend the sale with buyers or register introduction in writing 24 hours PRIOR to the sale. PHONE BIDDING - Now Available Please contact selling agents or vendors to make arrangements prior to sale day. GST All animals are sold exclusive of GST. INSURANCE All due care is taken in the delivery of the animals purchased however buyers are responsible for the insurance of animals against injury or death from the fall of the hammer. Insurance is available on the day or arrangements can be made prior to the sale. We strongly recommend taking out insurance on bulls for the first 6 months and especially during joining. DELIVERY Deliveries can be organized by the vendor or the purchaser but please advise the selling agents of your requirements on sale day on buyer sheet including full contact details. INDEPENDENTLY ASSESSED On the 6/7/2018 sale bulls were independently structurally assessed and measured for scrotal and temperament by Jim Green. Sale bulls have passed strict criteria on temperament, structure and weight for age, with scrotal palpations. Raw weights and scrotals available on sale day.
