DESCRIPTION The Arlberg valley is the first barrier for North west weather in the Alps. This guarantees plenty of snow all season long. Along the Arlberg valley, several ski resorts such as Saint Anton, Zurs, Zug, Lech, Oberlech, Stuben and Saint Christof offer a vast off piste skiing area. All these resorts are linked by a ski bus, which makes this area ideal for a star ski safari. BASE AT SAINT ANTON The hotel Edelweiss*** is a family cosy hotel ideally situated just 500m from the resort centre. Bars, restaurants and local amenities are just 50m away. The nearest ski lift is approximately 300m from the hotel. Facilities: Lobby, Reception,? Restaurant,? Bar, Solarium,?and after skiing you will appreciate the free access to the sauna and the steam room.
Meals: Buffet breakfast and three course evening meal and salad-buffet with a vegetarian option.? Rooms: Spacious Austrian twin rooms with bath or shower and wc, telephone, cable TV and radio. ITINERARY Day 1: Welcome meeting at Hotel Edelweiss Participants and guides meet at the bar at 6 PM. Verification of the individual equipment and distribution of the group equipment when needed. We also will organise a beacon training. Diner and night at the hotel. Day 2: St Anton After a coupious breakfast at the hotel, we will warm up in St Anton and explore «Vordere Rendlespitze» area. Day 3: St Anton - Zürs After breakfast at the hotel, we will start directly from St Anton using the famous Valluga cable car in order to drop to Zürs ski area. We will come back to St Anton at the end of the day using the skibus. Day 4: Stuben - Langen Ski Stuben classical powder run and discover the back side of the resort after a short skinning! Then we will enjoy a Wild and vast run going to Langen village s train station. Fun return using a train that deliver you right by St Anton down town Day 5: Zug - Lech Oberlech Let spend the day exploring the best off-piste itineraries of these 3 ski resorts. It a great pleasure to ski this area from one village to the other on a very typical tyrolean athmospher. Day 6: St Anton - St Christoph From St Anton we will traverse to Stuben. A short skinning will allow us Day 7: St Anton - Pettneu A funny day, we will take a train to reach Sonnenkopf ski area and discover the other side of the tunnel! Day 8: End of Safari

Click here to identifiy your ski level ACCESS TO THE UNTRACKED ITINERARIES From the top of a ski lift, we traverse, hike or skin a little away from the resort to find the secret passages that reward us with the finest skiing anywhere on earth, virgin slopes and majestic peaks, with descents up to 2000 meters vertical (over 6000 vertical feet). Your guides will adapt the daily program according to your skills and mood. INCLUDED IN THE PRICE 9V GUIDE: Registered professional mountain guide U.I.A.G.M. or a ski instructor, specialist of the Arlberg valley. ACCOMMODATION: Half-board for 7 nights in Edelweiss*** hotel in twin room. MEALS: Breakfast and dinner are provided by our hotels and are made with fresh dairies and local ingredients.
LIFT PASSES: 6 days ski pass for all the ski resorts we cross. TRANSPORTATION: All transportation along the route during the safari. SAFETY KIT: Shovel, avalanche probe and avalanche beacon are Lent to each participant for the week, must be worn under your jacket and turned on at all times while skiing. If you have your own bring it! EXTRAS RESCUE INSURANCE: Compulsory for all trips in Europe, even those that only ski at the resorts, for mountain rescue, assistance, transportation to nearest hospital, etc. Contact us for more information! TRIP INSURANCE (Check your credit card policy): May be subscribed privately for cancellation before the trip or interruption due to accident and repatriation. LUNCHES & DRINKS: Often group members will pool their money for lunch and wine at the dinner table. Lunchs are often picnics on the mountain when sunny, enhanced by specialities brought by the participants to be shared. Or home cooking in mountain, but when the weather is bad it is very nice to stop on a small dry and warm hut for a traditional meal. Guide lunch is to be offered by the participants. SINGLE ROOMS (35 per day): A little extra privacy each night for individuals traveling alone who would like a little extra space. WIDE SKIS W/ TOURING BINDINGS (35 per day) : For the ultimate fun factor, we'll get you set up on a great pair of powder skis with touring bindings and skins. You may use your own alpine ski boots with these bindings. AVALANCHE AIR BAG RUCKSACK: (15 per day): 30 years of research and development have made the
ABS airbag system what it is today. A sophisticated and proven system that aims to prevent burial in an avalanche and help victims pulled along by the snow mass to come out as unharmed as possible. ABS backpacks are recognized worldwide. TRANSPORTATION FROM AIRPORT TO HOTEL (100 to 150 per person). From/To Innsbruck, or Zurich airport. For groups, we can send a taxi or a minibus to take you directly from the airport to the hotel. Reserve in advance. GROUP EQUIPMENT (PROVIDED BY 9V) SAFETY KIT: Including shovel, avalanche probe and avalanche beeper: Must be worn by each participant at all times off-piste. If you have your own, please bring it. Indicate whether or not on booking form. SAFETY AND RESCUE EQUIPMENT: Each guide will have all that is necessary for the safety of his group in his rucksack : radio or mobile phone, first aid kit, tools for repair, space blanket, rope, shovel, avalanche probe...). The guide may ask you to carry such equipment in your rucksack. If you are an experienced mountaineer with your own equipment, bring it with you. WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TOURING SKIS: 9V guides use and recommend wide skis that make all kinds of deep snow fun, allow you to carve on piste and on any hard snow, are light enough to use with touring bindings to go uphill with skins in order to garanty access to untracked snow. CLOTHING: Remember that most of your time will be spent in ski wear. At any time of the season, weather can be sunny and warm, or bitterly cold, windy, snowy or rainy. If properly equipped, you'll enjoy the skiing, whatever the weather. We ski in all conditions. Bring bad weather gear with you, as during major snowstorms we ski fantastic powder in the forest. Plan to have extra clothing and gear in your rucksack each day, which will enable you to adapt to
all changes in temperature and weather. Temperature varies with altitude about 10 c. per 1000m. Therefore, the difference in temperature between the valley and the summits will be about 20 c., and even more considering wind chill factor. DAILY RUCKSACK: Small rucksack for daily necessities. 32 liters will be a good choice. Inside your pack you should have: - Goggles with double anti-fog screen orange for bad weather and mirror lens for sun.-scarf or neck-warmer to protect against wind, cold, sun or powder.-sun screen for lips and face (high protection). - Pocket knife for picnics. - Foil Blanket in case of accident (or even chair lift breakdowns). - Spare glove if you fall often! - Beverages, dried fruit, nuts, chocolate, muësli bars... - Shovel and probe. If you have your own, bring them. Your guide may give you such equipment to carry on. - Optional: Camera, video or binoculars. SPECIALITIES FOR THE GRAND 9V BUFFET : On Sunday, lunch will be made up of all the specialities brought by the participants, from the homeland or elsewhere. All will be spread out on a table to share. They must be transportable in your rucksack and edible without cooking or drinkable. This lunch will be one of the finest meals you can imagine. Share your favorite local specialities. HOW TO REACH HOTEL EDELWEISS - A 6580 - ST ANTON AM ARLBERG, AUSTRIA BY CAR: From Switzerland, go to Zurich and take highway A1L. Take Exit 3 onto the A14/E60 to FeldkirchBludenz, then you can easily reach Arlberg-Bundesstrasse and enter St Anton Village. Edelweiss hotel is located on the main street, 300mts from the gas station, close to the Church. BY PLANE: Innsbruck is the closest airport from St Anton (1 hour). Munich and Zurich international airports are both 2 1/2 hours away from St Anton. AIRPORT TRANSFERS - From Innsbruck, there are regular shuttle buses running to the resort.
