Locating Tournament Results Smile or frown it s exciting to see the results of a tournament in which you have just played! After you finish your last board in a tournament, other tables of players may not have completed all the boards. If allowed by the Tournament Director you may kibitz at those tables while you are waiting for the tournament results to be posted. As soon as the tournament is complete, the results will appear immediately on your screen or you may return at a later time to check the results. There are 4 different ways to find Tournament Results: 1. Results immediately posted when a tournament is complete 2. Look for Completed Tournaments on BBO 3. Using My BBO to find the Results of Tournament 4. Finding the results on the Web Please Note: Before proceeding, you will find it much easier to locate a tournament if you have the number and name of the tournament as well as the date of the tournament, such as #248 Pairs Intermediates Only Tuesday on 05/07/2013. If you are interested in reviewing a specific board or boards, it is also a good idea to have noted the number of those boards, such as Boards 3, 4, and 8. 1. Results immediately posted when a tournament is complete Tournaments results will be posted after everyone has completed the tournament. A popup window will appear and you will be able to see the results.
Using the eg above. Top portion, provides you with an overview of the tournament, providing you with name, host, number of tables played. Middle portion shows your results posted, how you did overall and your score. The last section shows the leaderboard. Here everyone is ranked according to their score, with the winning pair ranked as number 1. The second-ranked winner is number 2, etc. Names are the user names of the partners or individuals. Each partnership/individual is ranked according to the tournament scoring. Score is calculated by BBO software and based on the percentage of boards won and lost. For example, the partnership who came in first in this tournament is Ximen_C + Hoshimi with a score of 30.42 IMPS. Madtrumper + Okmaga came in 4 th with a score of 12.26 IMPS. Negative numbers are negative scores when compared to the field of players in the tournament. (See Tournament Scoring and How to Score a Duplicate Bridge Hand.) Points: As the above example was a free tournament, no masterpoints were awarded; When points are awarded a points column shows up showing the Masterpoints (see eg on Page 6). MptforINT awards Masterpoints. As a reminder, in an individual tournament, you will see a list of the individual players and their rankings. In a pairs tournament, you will see 1) the overall leading pairs, 2) the rankings of the N/S pairs, and 3) the rankings of the E/W pairs. Scroll down to see the N/s or E/W sections. 2. Look for Completed Tournaments on BBO For a short time after (15 min) the tournament has been completed, you can find results in BBO under Completed Tournaments. You need to know the Tournaments host ( eg. BILManager or MptForINT) to find the results.
3. Using My BBO to find Tournament Results. BBO will store the last 100 tournaments played by each individual on their website. To access these tournaments, log into BBO and go to My BBO. Hands and Results stores the last 100 tournaments and hands that one has played. Hands can also be saved using Hand Editor.
Under Recent Tournament you will find a list of the recent tournaments you have played. By clicking on the green buttons below you can sort the columns to your preference. Clicking on results of a particular tournament will bring up the results pop up page. Clicking on My Hands allows one to compare each hand and see how others played them. To review a particular hand, highlight the hand and the board will show up to the right.. Clicking on the arrows, will take through each card played. To see how the other tables played and hand, click on Other Tables. One can sort the criteria for viewing the hands by clicking on the green buttons (Results, We, They, We IMP s, They Imp s)
Other Tables: Highlight the table you want to review and the bid and play of the board will show up to the right 4. Finding the results on the Web. Results of Tournaments and Hands played can also be found on the Web. Using you browser go to: http://www.bridgebase.com/myhands/index.php To access and review a list of hands played over a period of time, enter your user name, select the dates and click on Get hands. To review tournament and results click on Click here for the results of recent tournaments
2. List of all the Tournaments played on BBO, by Club are listed. To view results find BIL. All tournaments that are sponsored by BIL are listed under the category. BIL (BilManager and MptForINT) List of Tournaments: A list of the Tournaments for the last 7 days are stored on the BBO Website. From here one can access the traveller and the results for each tournament. Through the Traveller, one can see the results for all the tables per board played. You can also access the movie of each hand. NOTE: Clicking on Movie will open in Web format (Mac friendly), to use LIN, you must have downloaded the Windows version of BBO (New members do not have access to Windows version any longer).
Using the Traveller: The Traveller is a useful tool, to see at a glance how everyone else bid and played the Board. It provides a one page glimpse at the results for all the tables. Playing in tournaments is a good way to improve Bridge Skills. Studying, reviewing and comparing results is a good way to learn. Happy Bridging
