After the Fisher Cats allowed the Thunder a pair of runs to tie the game in the top of the eighth, Guerrero smacked a two-out solo homer to the patio at the hotel to lift the Fisher Cats to a 5-4 victory. The blast made a winner out of Danny Barnes, who allowed an inherited runner to score as part of the two-run eighth inning. K.C. Hobson added a three-run blast, part of a four-run first inning that erased an early 1-0 Trenton lead. The Fisher Cats are 5-0 against the Thunder at home this season, and go for a second straight home sweep today. TONIGHT S STARTER: John Anderson toes the rubber in the series finale with the Thunder. He struggled his last time out, giving up five runs on 10 hits over five innings in Reading on Monday. The Phils won the game, 5-1, as all five runs scored in the fifth inning. Anderson had allowed just 3 earned runs over his previous 12 innings. He beat the Thunder on April 29 to the tune of one run on one hit over seven innings. THERE S NO PLACE LIKE HOME: The Fisher Cats once again lead the league with 13 victories at home after Saturday s victory. It was the team s sixth win in their final at-bat at home this season. They are hitting.291 as a team, averaging 4.9 runs per game at home. They have also hit 20 of their league-high 27 homers at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. UTTER DOMINANCE: Blake McFarland, quite simply, has been one of the best relievers in the minors this year. He had another perfect inning on Friday for his fourth save. He s retired 37 of the 42 hitters he s faced on the year, giving up 4 hits and 1 walk in 12.1 innings. The only run he allowed came on a balk. He s also retired the first hitter in all 11 outings while stranding all nine inherited runners. PILING UP THE HITS: Jon Berti had yet another double as part of a two-hit Saturday night. He is hitting.432 this month with 16 hits in 39 at-bats. He also has seven doubles on the month. He hit.206 with 13 total hits in April. STILL STREAKING: Dwight Smith Jr. was 2-3 with a walk, a double, and a run to push his on-base streak to 24 games. He has also hit safely in 11 in a row at home. On the season, he has reached base in 26 of 27 games, and hit safely in 25 of those games.
