HIGH SCHOOL... 7.50 Slower on the 1/8th (no electronics) 1. Reserved for full body cars with full fenders, hood, grille, top, windshield, and functional doors. 2. Must use Street Legal DOT approved tires. 3. Must have valid license plates and registration. 4. Mufflers required. MINIMUM PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS Each entrant must have competed at a MINIMUM of three events in the current season s SUMMIT Racing Series / SUMMIT Junior Drag Racing League program for the track represented. TRACKS SUBMITTING A ROSTER WITH INELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS MAY BE SUBJECT TO A COMPLETE TEAM DISQUALIFIATION FROM THE EVENT. All entrants are required to have current NHRA Membership and current Competition Number prior to entry to the event. Proof of both NHRA Membership and Competition Number must be available upon arrival at the event. All drivers competing in NHRA ET Categories (including cars, motorcycles or snow mobiles) that run 9.99 (6.39 on the 1/8 th ) seconds or quicker AND/OR 135 mph and faster on the 1/4, are required to have valid NHRA Competition License. All license applicants (excluding JDRL) must be at least 16 years of age and have a state issued driver s license beyond a learners permit.
MULTIPLE ENTRIES One driver will not be allowed to drive the same car in two different classes in the Summit Racing Series Championship One driver WILL be allowed to drive in two different Summit eliminators, if they drive two different cars. One driver will NOT be allowed to double enter in the same class. One driver will NOT be permitted to drive for two different tracks, even if it is in two different classes. One Summit Racing Series car will NOT be allowed to be shared by two different drivers. One Summit JDRL dragster WILL be allowed to be shared by two different drivers in two different classes, on the same team. TECHNICAL INSPECTION Technical inspection for the NHRA/Summit Racing ET Finals may be completed prior to the event by the local track technical inspectors. All tech cards and waivers must be signed and completed in full, prior to turning into NHRA registration. Tech cards must be filled out completely and legible. Valid NHRA Competition License, State Drivers License and Membership will be verified before the tech card will be accepted at NHRA registration. SUMMIT CHAMPIONSHIP RACE PROCEDURES First round potential bye runs will be a random draw. Subsequent potential bye runs will be based on reaction time from the previous round. In the event of a tie, the tie breaker will go to the best package. In the event there is still a tie, the potential bye will go to the racer that did it first. Bye runs will NOT carry over. They must be re-earned each round. No racer may have more than one bye run, unless no other option is available. Reasonable efforts will be made to keep team members from running against each other. Deep staging is allowed. Christmas tree will be on Auto Start. Starting system will be a 5/10ths full tree. Compulink CrossTalk feature will be used in Super Pro and Super Pro Motorcycle Buybacks: The E.T. Finals eliminator allows 1 st round losers to enter a re-entry round for $25. Participants that lose in 1 st round have the option to buy into a separate round for a second chance elimination. Those entries will run off against each other. The winners of this re-entry round are reinstated for Round 2 of the division championship. This round does not earn points. TRACK TEAMS SUMMIT Racing Series, and SUMMIT Junior Drag Racing League Track season points AND TEAM ROSTER must be submitted to the Southeast Division Office no later than the Monday, October 2nd. Final Team Roster may be amended by no more than 6 changes and these amendments must be finalized by 5:00 PM on Friday. Summit Racing Series Team size is 25 members. A track may request, but is NOT required, to bring a second team. All members of the second team must meet the minimum series participation requirements. Track jumping is NOT permitted. Racers must be verified as participating in Summit Racing Series events at that track. The first of the two teams must include entrants from a minimum of three (3) of the contested classes. (Sportsman, Pro, Super Pro, or Motorcycle) In order for a class to be represented on Team 2 it must be included on Team 1. The intent is to prevent a track from stacking a team in order to gain a competitive advantage. Examples: OK: First Team = Sprtsmn, Pro, SP, MC Second Team = SP OK: First Team = Sprtsmn, Pro, SP Second Team = Pro, SP Not OK: First Team = Sprtsmn, Pro, SP Second Team = SP, MC Not OK: First Team = Sprtsmn, Pro Second Team = SP, MC No more than 52% (13 of 25) racers may come from a single class.
Example: OK: Not OK: 13 SP, 11 Pro, 1 Sprtsmn 14 SP, 10 Pro, 1 Sprtsmn High School Championship: Each track may bring one (1) high school student for the High School Race Of Champions. The High School championship does not count towards the event s team championship points. Summit Junior Drag Racing League: Each track may submit two (2) teams consisting of 10 racers from the JDRL. These 10- member teams can be a combination of any of the contested classes. The Junior Dragster teams will earn points for a separate Team Championship, not in conjunction with the Summit Racing Series big car Team Championship. Sunday Summit JDRL Championship $40.00 Sunday Re-Entry Round $20.00 Thursday Afternoon Welcome to the Rock Gamblers Race Starting off the weekend on Thursday will be the yearly Gamblers Race. This year will consist of 3 classes and include 2 time runs to get you dialed in. The Electronics class will have a $50 Entry with a $25 buyback (First or Second Round; time permitting) and will pay $2000 to win, $600 R/U, $200 Semis, $100 ¼ s if a 64 minimum car count is reached. The Non Electronics class will have a $40 Entry with a $20 buyback (First or Second Round; time permitting) and will pay $1200 to win, $400 R/U, $100 Semis, $50 ¼ s if a 48 minimum car count is reached. Motorcycles will be $40 Entry and $20 Buyback (First or Second Round; time permitting) and will pay out 80% of the entries received. Friday Afternoon Total Package Money Race (NO TEAM POINTS) No Juniors on Friday This is a new feature for the division championship weekend. The race will be conducted as a dial-in best package race based on the COMBINED package of two runs. The race is $50 to enter. Of that, 50% will be paid back in purse. 25% will go to the event. And 25% will go to a POMONA TRAVEL FUND for the 5 racers that punch their ticket to the Summit Racing Series World Finals. THIS RACE WILL HELP PAY FOR THE DIVISION CHAMPION S TRIP TO POMONA. That person might be you! 2 classes of competition: Electronics and Non Electronics Motorcycles are allowed to participate in their respective category. (Street in non-electronics. Super Pro Bike in Electronics.) However, Motorcycles will NOT be paired side-by-side with cars at any time. The race will pay the top 5 racers. Total Package Money Race Race Format:
1. Round 1: Racers will place a dial-in on their car and make a pass. (Dial-ins must remain within the parameters of that cars class for the Summit Racing Series Championship.) a. Red lights are a disqualification. b. Break-outs are a disqualification. c. At the completion of Round 1, the top 16 positive packages from EACH class will be called back for Round 2. 2. Round 2: The 16 drivers from each class will make their second pass. Dial-ins may be changed from R1 to R2. a. At the completion of R2, the competitors will have their 2 runs added together to determine the final finishing order based on COMBINED positive packages. b. Should a tie exist the tie breaker will be the driver that had the best combined reaction times. Based on 150 entries per class, the winner would receive $1,875. And EACH OF THE 5 RACERS HEADING TO POMONA WILL RECEIVE AN ADDITIONAL $750 TO ASSIST WITH THEIR TRAVEL. That could be you.
