The Mocs Club is using the day to launch its Drive for 25 campaign. The campaign aims to raise $25,000 in scholarship funds for UTC student-athletes to which an anonymous donor has generously agreed to match. CAN FOOD DRIVE - NOV. 28 AND 29 Fans who bring one canned food item to the women s basketball game on Tuesday, Nov. 28 or the men s game on Wednesday, Nov. 29 can purchase one ticket at half price. UTC HOSTED FINAL FOUR FOE Louisville, a Final Four participant, earned a No. 5 preseason ranking in the AP Top 25 and was No. 4 in the USA Today Coaches Top 25. The Mocs fell 75-49 to the Cardinals. FAMILIAR FACE ON VISITOR S BENCH A familiar face will be in an unfamiliar place. Mocs Former head coach Wes Moore will pay a visit to the Roundhouse but will be sitting on the visiting side with his NC State Wolfpack. This will be his first trek back to Chattanooga since his departure following the 2013-14. The Wolfpack is ranked 17th in the Associated Press preseason poll and 16th in the USA Today Coaches preseason poll. SEASON OPENER AGAINST LEE UTC will open the season against Lee in the first regular season matchup between the two schools. It will be an exhibition game for the Lady Flames, however. TOURNAMENT TIME Chattanooga will travel to Virginia after Thanksgiving for the Cavalier Classic. UTC will take on Saint Louis and Central Michigan. It will be the first meeting with both teams. Before the New Year, the Mocs will travel to the Bronx, N.Y., for the Fordham Holiday Classic. UTC will face MTSU for the 45th time and first since 2008. Following that first round matchup, the Mocs will take on either Maine or host Fordham. Chattanooga fell to Maine in the 2016 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Memorial. UTC and Fordham have never met.

SOCON TOURNAMENT The Southern Conference Tournament will return to the U.S. Cellular Center in Asheville, N.C. The women s tournament begins March 1 and runs through March 4. REGULAR SEASON TITLES The Mocs have won 21 regular season SoCon titles including the last five. Sharon Fanning won the first three beginning in 1984. Craig Parrott won two in his tenure. Wes Moore, the winningest women s basketball coach in SoCon history, led the Mocs to 12 in 15 years. Jim Foster has won the regular season in each of his four seasons at Chattanooga. SOCON TOURNAMENT CROWNS The Mocs are winners of 18 SoCon Tournament crowns. Fanning won the first three. STAFF CHANGES Katie Burrows was named the sixth head coach of the Chattanooga women s basketball team on May 25, 2018. She took over from Jim Foster who announced his retirement in April. Burrows is the second former UTC student-athlete to become the head coach. Sharon Cable Fanning-Otis played for UTC in its first season as a senior. She became the head coach in the third season, leading the team from 1977-1987. Burrows led the Lady Mocs to four straight SoCon regular season and tournament titles and four NCAA Tournament appearances. BLACK STEPPING UP Debbie Black spent her first season as the Mocs Director of Operations. This year she was promoted to assistant coach. TOWNS PROMOTED Ka Vonne Towns, in her second year on staff, was named the Director of Operations. GILBERT BECOMES A COACH Aryanna Gilbert will be the Mocs graduate assistant coach as she completes her final year of graduate school. MOCS RETURN EIGHT LETTERWINNERS Chattanooga returns eight letterwinners to its lineup this season including starters Molly Melton, Lakelyn Bouldin and Arianne Whitaker. BURKS RETURNS TO LINEUP AFTER INJURY NaKeia Burks suffered a knee injury early last season and redshirted the year. She makes her return to the lineup this season as a redshirt junior. UTC ADDS FIVE NEWCOMERS Chattanooga signed four freshmen last season and added a walk-on this fall. Abbey Cornelius from Hardin Valley Academy and Eboni Williams from Hoover High School were the first two signed. UTC then added Morgan Hill from Minneapolis South and Pare Pene from New Zealand. After the school year started, the Mocs had walk-on Liz Wood join the team. INTERNATIONAL PLAYER ON THE ROSTER Pareunuora Pene came the farthest to join the Mocs. She traveled from Rotorua, New Zealand and is the second international player to join UTC s roster. Jenaya Wade-Fray was from Bermuda and represented Great Britian in the Olympics. LONG-RANGE BOMBERS The Mocs have made at least one 3-pointer in 597 consecutive games dating back to December 1999. Chattanooga reached the 500-game mark against Butler on November 15, 2015. 45 SEASONS UTC begins its 45th season of play as a Division I team and has had just six coaches in it s history. The Mocs are 858-453 over that time, averaging just under 20 wins per season. Career by the Numbers DOUBLE-DOUBLES...Season...Career Arianne Whitaker... 0... 3 DOUBLE-FIGURE SCORING...
