INAS FID 5 TH FOOTBALL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010 South Africa Sports Association for the Intellectually Impaired hereby invites all countries qualified for the INAS-FID 5h Football World Championships 1. EVENT TITLE INAS FID 5 TH FOOTBALL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010 1.1 DATES Arrival: 21 August 2010 Departure: 12 September 2010 1.2 EVENT LOCATION Country: South Africa Province: Limpopo Province Cities and Towns: Polokwane Tzaneen Giyane 1.3 LOCATION Limpopo Province is in the North part of South Africa. The borders of Limpopo Province are: North Botswana and Zimbabwe East Mozambique South Mpumalanga, Gauteng and North West Provinces West Botswana The Kruger National Park is between Limpopo Province and Mozambique. Polokwane is the capital city of Limpopo Province where the Provincial Parliament is situated. Polokwane is about 360km from O R Tambo Airport in Johannesburg 1

1.4 AIRPORT O R Tambo Airport in Johannesburg Polokwane International Airport (direct from some countries, otherwise via Johannesburg) 1.5 TRANSPORTATION FROM JOHANNESBURG TO POLOKWANE (All transfers between airports are at the expense of the Team) There are connecting flights from O R Tambo Airport to Polokwane. A luxury bus transport can be arranged as an alternative but will be charged for. Rental vehicles are also available in Johannesburg Teams arriving at Polokwane airport will be provided with transport to their accommodation. 1.6 TRANSPORTATION IN POLOKWANE Mini taxi s and Private taxi s are available in Polokwane. Rental vehicles are also available in Polokwane. 2

2. SPORT INFORMATION 2.1 COMPETITION VENUES: i. ii. 2.2 TRAINING FACILITIES All training facilities will be in and around Polokwane. Municipality - 7 x Training fields Local Schools - 5 x Training fields Local Clubs - 2 x Training fields 2.3 DETAILS AND QUALIFICATIONS OF OFFICIALS TO BE USED SAFA (South Africa Football Association) will provide FIFA approved officials. 2.4 NATIONAL GOVERNING BODY OF SPORT SASCOC (South African Sport Confederation and Olympic Committee) approved this event and will give their support. 2.5 COMPETITION SCHEDULE 2.5.1 Two rest days between matches 2.5.2 Teams will take part in 4 groups 2.5.3 Groups A & C will play on the same day Groups B & D will play on the same day but a different day to A & C 2.5.4 There will be one match in the morning and one match in the afternoon. 3. HEALTH SERVICES 3.1 All cities and towns have Government Hospitals. 3.2 Private hospitals and medical doctors are readily available in all towns and cities. 3.3 The organizers recommend that all team members have health and accident insurance from their own country. 3.4 Health services for first aid and emergency medical assistance will be available at all matches and training sessions. 3.5 Physiotherapists will be available at matches only. They will be available after hours on request. 3.6 There will be Doping Control. 3.7 Tap water in South Africa is safe to drink. Bottled water will be supplied as needed. 3.8 The weather in Limpopo Province in August and September is winter and beginning of spring for South Africa with sunny days but usualy no rain. Temperature is usually between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius. 3.9 It is advisable to take malaria tablets before you arrive in South Africa 3.10 A medical doctor will be on call in each town / city 5

4. ACCOMMODATION 4.1 LOCATION AND STANDARDS Three different standards of accommodation will be provided. All meals will be included. A GROUP Hostel - Sleeping two eight, with bathroom in passage. In Polokwane B GROUP a) Rondavels - Sleeping two with en-suite bathroom b) Chalets - Sleeping four (two bedrooms, lounge and bathroom) c) Lodges/Overnight Accommodation - Two-sleeper with en-suite bathroom C GROUP Suites/Hotels - Two-sleeper with en-suite bathroom 6

5. CLASSIFICATION 5.1 All players must be registered with INAS-FID and have a valid registration number. Players must present themselves with Passport or photo identity and their INAS-FID Registration Card. 5.2 All verification of eligibility and issuing of accreditation cards for the event will take place as follows: Date: 22 August 2010 Time: 10:00 13:00 Venue: Event Nerve Center (ENC) Responsible: INAS-FID Eligibility officer, SASA-II Eligibility officer, Entries Secretary 6. SOCIAL PROGRAM 6.1 OPENING CEREMONY Date: 22 August 2010 Time: 17:00 Venue: Peter Mokaba Sport Center 6.2 OPENING FUNCTION Date: 22 August 2010 Time: 20:00 Venue: Peter Mokaba Sport Center Hall 6.3 CLOSING CEREMONY AND FUNCTION Date: 11 September 2010 Time: 17:00 Venue: Polokwane City Hall 6.4 EXCURSION Date: According to competition program Time: Half-day or full-day tours Venue: 4 x 4 Wild drive - Polokwane Bird and Snake Park including a demonstration and show Lion Breeding Centre Crocodile Farm Bela Bela Forever Resort (Water fun) (All are half day outings except Bela Bela - Forever Resort) 6.5 LEISURE AND RECREATION 6.5.1 Most accommodation options have a swimming pool. 6.5.2 You will find a diving and 50m swimming pool in city centre. 6.5.3 Tour to the Townships. 7

6.5.4 Teams will also receive documentation with different opportunities for leisure and recreation at their own cost, in Limpopo Province and also in the rest of the country if requested. Limpopo or South Africa websites can be visited. 7. TRANSPORT 7.1 Teams will be shuttled back and forth between O.R Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and Polokwane, in luxury buses, if requested but at their own expense. 7.2 Alternatively, teams can fly from O.R Tambo International Airport to Polokwane International Airport at their own expense, from where they will be shuttled to their accommodation by the hosting province. 7.3 Teams will be transported for practice sessions and matches in luxury buses, by the organizers. 7.4 Local public transport may be used at own expense. Public transport available includes minibus taxis and metered taxis. Note: Railway and bus transport facilities are limited (volunteers will assist teams in this regard). 7.5 Smaller vehicles will be available for emergencies (at organisers costs). 7.6 Information on Hire Vehicles will be available on request. International driving license must be applied for in country of origin. 7.7 VISAs Each country must make enquiries with regard to travel documents and Visas 8. LANGUAGE INAS-FID official language is English. All documentation will be in English Each team will have a volunteer who will also be able to assist with interpretation. 9. INSURANCE All teams are responsible for their own insurance to cover Travel, Health and Personal Property 11. ENTRY FEE 11.1 Member Counties are responsible for their own transport cost to Polokwane, South Africa and back. 11.2 Three different packages will be offered to Member Countries qualifying to enter their teams. (Packages will depend on the type of accommodation requested) 11.3 Packages will include: Accommodation, all meals and transport for the duration of the event, Excursions, all ceremonies and functions on the program. 11.4 Packages: A Group US$100 per day per person B Group US$105 per day per person C Group US$112 per day per person (Group B and C - 1 single room will be available for team management for each 3 players sharing) 11.5 INAS-FID Capitation fee of US$ 10 must be paid for all team members. 11.6 Transport from O R Tambo Airport and back (by luxury bus) - US$120 per person (not included in package) 11.7 Maximum of 30 people will be catered for through the package. Each person extra will be charged US$ 20 per day extra. 9

15. VOLUNTEERS 15.1 All teams will have a volunteer to assist them through the competition who will be accommodated with the team. 15.2 During the day each team will have at least two volunteers. 16.
