Stewards ordered that all bets placed on Go Charlie Go be refunded and all successful bets placed on the race with bookmakers be subject to the following deductions. 1st Thermosa 0 cents win 9 cents place 2nd Beechal - 7 cents place 3rd La Petite Belle 5 cents place Trainer Ms C Greig was advised that a warning would be recorded against the barrier manners of Go Charlie Go. La Petite Belle Near the 400m hung out across the heels of Beechal and was checked. Outward Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Raced greenly when under pressure in the straight. Lost off hind plate in running. Geng Slow to begin.
Labrusco Hung out rounding the home turn losing ground. Laid in under pressure in the straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying a poor post race recovery. Trainer Mr B Cavanough was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required before the gelding is permitted to race again. Malabugilmah Laid in under pressure in the straight. Anabsolutemiracle Slow to begin. Race 2: Maiden Handicap 1200m: Oziecho A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame 3/5 in the near hind and to have swelling over its hip. Trainer Ms N Hudson was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required before the gelding is permitted to race again. Bring the Joy Blundered passing the 900m Casula Lad Began awkwardly Chrissy s Dream J Adams was reprimanded AR137A(5)(a)(i) for using his whip on consecutive strides prior to the 100m. Lightning Lass Raced wide throughout and was beaten 27.39L. Trainer Ms C Chapman was advised that a warning for being uncompetitive would be placed on the mare s record. Marada Raced wide throughout. Wee Lassie Checked on jumping when crowded by Marmalade Express which began very awkwardly and shifted out. Bel Rosso A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled for the 2nd time. Trainer Mr L Bryant was advised that the gelding would now be barred from racing in Australia for life. Race 3: Class 1 Handicap 1400m: Bolly Laid in under pressure passing the 100m. Harry Invictus A post race veterinary examination of the gelding which was beaten 47.95L failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Trainers representative Mr P Slattery was advised that the gelding would be required to prove its competitiveness in a barrier trial before being permitted to race again. Festival Of Light steadied in the early stages when crowded by Teppum. All Ellie Raced wide in the middle stages. Laid in passing the 200m and bumped with Star of Tickets. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be displaying a poor post race recovery and a suspected case of the thumps. Trainer Mr B Thompson was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required before All Ellie is permitted to race again. Teppum A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame 1/5 in the near hind leg. Trainer Mr C Lundholm was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required before Teppum is permitted to race again. Velvet Glove Ms R Murray was fined $300 AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for using her whip 10 times prior to the 100m. Race 4: Class 3 Handicap 1600m: Cricklewood rounding the home turn was steadied after hanging out onto the heels of Quirion.
Pedro s Zariz Slow to begin. Pretty Pine A pre race veterinary examination passed the mare fit to start. Ms A Denby (Mishani Istana) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding (AR137a) in that passing the 1200m she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of Blinkin Fast which was carried in onto Pretty Pine which was checked and taken in onto Cricklewood which was crowded. Ms A Denby s license to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence 26/10/18 and to expire on 2/11/18 on which day she may ride. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame 1/5 in the near for leg. Trainer Mr G Lunn advised that Pretty Pine would now be spelled. Acting on this assurance no action was taken. Baradine Bound Slow to begin. Strike Zone Hung out passing the 700m. Race 5: Class 2 Plate 1200m: Recital Near the 900m was checked after improving onto the heels of Coop n Demp. Sons Of Bourke Near the winning post was steadied when crowded by Bell Serenade (J Adams) which shifted out. J Adams was reprimanded (AR137a). Humboldt Slow to begin. Near the 1100m was steadied when crowded by Mckellars Love which shifted out. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Tallyman Near the 700m commenced to hang out carrying Drawn to You very wide on the track and continued to hang out until near the 400m losing considerable ground. Trainer Mr B Thompson was advised that Tallyman would be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards before being permitted to race again. Race 6: Cup Day Sprint Open Handicap 1100m: Under the Thumb Slow to begin. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the straight and near the 100m bumped with Our Dasha when attempting to shift out to improve. Invincible George Checked on jumping after beginning awkwardly and shifting in onto Moloasses. Near the 800m and again near the 700m was checked after hanging out onto the heels of Our Dasha. Our Dasha On straightening raced in restricted room and was held up until near the 300m where it was able to be shifted out into clear running to improve. Bright Future Raced in restricted room in the early part of the straight. In the final 100m had difficulty obtaining clear running. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Race 7: 2018 Coonabarabran Cup Open Handicap 1600m: Itsa Fait Accompli M Squires was fined $200 AR137A(5(a)(ii) for using his whip on 10 occasions prior to the 100m. M Squires was also reprimanded AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for using his whip on consecutive strides prior to the 100m. Schedule When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding rider C Lever stated that his mount travelled only fairly through the run and when placed under pressure just prior to straightening it didn t respond to his riding and failed to run on as expected. C Lever added that he was of the opinion that the gelding may have resented the kick back on the track today. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slower than usual recovery. Lonely Orphan Slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination of the mare which was beaten 17.87L failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Trainer Ms L Jeffries was advised
that a warning for a poor performance would be recorded against the mare.
Dapperized Was a late scratching at 4:00pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice when found to be lame 1/5 in the near foreleg. Ms G Williams was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required before the gelding is permitted to race again. Baroque Girl Slow to begin. Austin Laid in on straightening and bumped with Miami Dade. Race 8: Benchmark 66 Handicap 1400m: Not for Export Broke down and restrained out of the race passing the 900m. Upon immediate inspection by the club s veterinary officer it was discovered that the gelding had sustained a compound fracture to the off fore cannon bone and after being sedated was humanely euthanised. The relevant section of track was inspected by Stipendiary Steward Mr S Cullen who reported no areas of concern. After taking evidence from trainer Mr D Lunn and rider Ms W Peel the inquiry was adjourned to a date to be fixed to allow Stewards to obtain veterinary and stable treatment records for Not For Export. Beale Street Rider J Adams was reprimanded AR137A(5)(a)(i) for using his whip consecutively prior to the 100m The Frick Shifted out abruptly near the 900m to avoid the broken down runner. Not Wanted Began awkwardly. Hampered and carried wider near the 900m to avoid the broken down runner. Zatigeroo Checked rounding the home turn when Sea Lady (G Ryan) shifted out when not clear. G Ryan was reprimanded AR137a. Summary of whip use: Stewards noted the following riders exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100m under AR137A(5)(a)(ii): Race 2: J Adams 6 times prior to 100m.
