Rules Advertising 1 RULES 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. 1.2 No national prescriptions will apply. 1.3 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence. 1.4 The sailing instructions will consist of the instructions in RRS Appendix S, Standard Sailing Instructions, and supplementary sailing instructions that will be on the official notice board located near the race office in UYCAs. 1.5 If class rules does not require higher standards ISO-Norm 12402-5 (or equal) is the minimum requirement for personal floating devices. 2 ADVERTISING Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority. If this rule is broken, World Sailing Regulation 20.9.2 applies. [DP] 1

Eligibility and Entry Fees Schedule Measurement Sailing Instructions 3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 3.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the Tempest class that have paid their annuals fee as a NTA or ITA member. 3.2 Late entries will be accepted till the end of registration. 4 FEES The entry fee is 350,- for transfer to UYCAs (IBAN AT59 3436 3800 0001 9406; BIC RZOOAT2L363) until entry closing date (June 8 th, 2018) 420,- till the end of registration. 5 SCHEDULE 5.1 Registration: Friday, June 29 th, 2018, 16:00 20:00 hrs, Saturday, June 30 th, 2018, 10:00 13:00 and 14:00 18:00 hrs 5.2 Equipment inspection and event measurement: Friday, June 29 th, 2018, 16:00 20:00 hrs, Saturday, June 29 th, 2018, 10:00 13:00 and 14:00 18:00 hrs Sunday, July 1 st, 2018, 10:00 12:00 hrs 5.3 Dates of racing: Sunday, July 1 st, 2018: Practice Race Monday, July 2 nd, 2018 Friday, July 7 th, 2018: Racing 5.4 Number of races: A maximum of nine races will be sailed. Not more than three races will be sailed per day. 5.5 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the practice race is Sunday, July 1 st, 2018, 14:00 hrs. The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race is Monday, July 2 nd, 2018, 11:00 hrs. 5.6 On the last scheduled day of racing no warning signal will be made after 15:00 hrs. 6 MEASUREMENT 6.1 Each boat shall produce a valid measurement certificate. 6.2 A boat shall comply with RRS 78.1 at Sunday, July 1 st, 2018, 14:00 hrs. 7 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS The sailing instructions will be available at the registration. 2

Venue The Courses Penalty System Scoring Support Boats Berthing Haul-out Restrictions 8 VENUE 8.1 The Union-Yacht-Club Attersee is located in the city of Attersee am Attersee on the west side of the lake. 8.2 The racing area normally is close to the club. 9 THE COURSES There will be sailed Windward-Leeward Courses specified in the Sailing Instructions. 10 PENALTY SYSTEM 10.1 Appendix P (Special procedures for rule 42) will apply. 10.2 Appendix T (Arbitration) will apply. 10.3 Decisions of the international jury will be final as provided in RRS 70.5. 11 SCORING 11.1 The number of races scheduled is 9. 4 races are required to be completed to constitute a series. 11.2 (a) When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat s series score will be the total of her race scores. (b) When from 5 to 7 races have been completed, a boat s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. (c) When 8 or more races have been completed, a boat s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her two worst scores. 12 SUPPORT BOATS Support boats shall not be allowed. 13 BERTHING Boats shall be kept in their assigned places while they are in the harbour. [DP] 14 HAUL-OUT RESTRICTIONS Boats shall not be hauled out during the regatta except with and according to the terms of prior written permission of the race committee. [DP] 4

Diving Equipment and Plastic Pools Radio Communication Prizes Disclaimer of Liability 15 DIVING EQUIPMENT AND PLASTIC POOLS Underwater breathing apparatus and plastic pools or their equivalent shall not be used around boats between the preparatory signal of the first race and the end of the regatta. [DP] 16 RADIO COMMUNICATION Except in an emergency, a boat that is racing shall not make voice or data transmissions and shall not receive voice or data communication that is not available to all boats. [DP] 17 PRIZES World Championship Trophies will be attributed to the three first crews, the other ITA trophies will be attributed as per their own rules. Trophies to the best three crews given by the Austrian Tempest Association. Commemorative gifts will be distributed to all competitors at registration. The best crew of each sailing day receives a special prize. 18 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta. In addition, the disclaimer shown on the online entry and to be signed at registration, is valid. 5

Liability, Images, Data: The clauses, that apply to all regattas General Recordings in sound and vision Minors Data Other Competitors commit with their entry and/or participation to follow the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2017-2020, the rules of good seamanship and any other valid rules for this event as well as the regulations of the Austrian Sailing Federation and the legal standards and participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk in accordance with RRS 4 and accepting the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions. The organizing authority, its associates and appointees accept no responsibility for any loss, damage, injury or inconvenience incurred, howsoever caused ashore and afloat, for example those of crew, material and financial loss, as far as permitted by applicable law. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta. In its entirety competitors agree to dispense with the assertion of claims for damages. The onus of presentation and the burden of proof in terms of the occurrence of damages is incumbent upon the competitors. The organizing authority excludes liability for lost property or damage caused by third parties as well as unpredictable or unusual damage. Competitors agree that recordings in sound and vision may be taken (person and boat/material), published for media coverage and promoting the event and the organizing clubs. Declarations for underage competitors have to be signed additionally by their legal representative or by a representative, who is authorized in writing for this particular case. Competitors agree on the utilization of their personal data by OA in order to promote the aims of the club. Data must not be passed on to third parties. The organisation of the event begins well in advance. Refunds of entry fee and travel expenses will not be provided. In exceptional cases (parts of) the entry fee (amounting to saved expenses) might be refunded - not in cases of force majeure. Changes of the Notice of Race or other rules (eg sailing instructions) remain reserved, but will be announced in time. All prizes (especially property and memory prizes) expire, if they are not taken during the prize-giving ceremony. Unless the RRS published by ISAF apply Austrian law is valid. All disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the local court in STADT with jurisdiction as regards the subject matter. A boat is only entitled to compete, if all crew members have personally signed these terms and conditions before the first start. 7

Worth knowing for our guests Registration Youth accommodation Camping Children s playground Adequat clothing The facilities of UYCAs are free available for guests which are registered for a regatta in the UYCAs for three days before and three days after the regatta (trailer and boat). For a longer duration of stay please ask and register in the office (sekretariat@uycas.at), this is only in exceptional cases possible. If you arrive prior to the event please inform us obligatory that our harbormasters are available with the key for the gate and crane. In the youth accommodation of UYCAs are limited places. Registration is required before closing date for the event. At registration in the office we ask for the payment of 10,- per night for teenagers ( 15,- per night for adults) for bedlinen, shower and cleaning. For regatta guests arriving by camper, caravan or tent there is a campsite with a limited number of parking spaces in the club as well as sanitary facilities. The use is only possible after an appointment per E-Mail to sekretariat@uycas.at and is possible only during the regatta or training event. The arrival is possible one day before the event and departure must be till noon after the event. Fee per night and camper, caravan or tent: 10, - A children s playground and a beach volleyball court exists in the UYCAs area. We kindly ask our guests to not visit the restaurant and terrace in swimwear. Worth knowing for our guests TRAILER SOMMERLAGER Arrival Site map The best way to reach the Union-Yacht-Club Attersee is via A1 motorway. Leave A1 at exit St. Georgen im Attergau. At the end of the motorway s exit turn left to direction Attersee. Follow the road until you are in the village of Attersee and turn right at the T-crossing in Attersee to direction Unterach am Attersee. About 1 km later, you reach UYCAs. There is a pedestrian crossing in front of the club. In the information E-Mail we ll send you a code for our gates. You can open the gate to the parking area and the Tor Süd (situated shore-based on the right side of the street). Through the Tor Süd you ll come to the trailer parking area and to the rigging ladder. Please prepare everything there before you move to the berth or to the crane. For an organised flow of the event please park your trailer and car at the provided parking areas.
