Toolstation Western Football League Bulletin Number 11 Latest News Ground Hop Weekend: There was marvellous weather throughout the weekend for the annual seven match Toolstation Western League Ground Hop. Starting the event off in Division One at Lakeview on the Friday evening in front of 247 spectators saw Keynsham Town take all the points with a 1-0 win against Bishop Sutton helped by an injury time goal by Ben Harris. Saturday morning started off at Bowdens Park which saw many of the Hoppers in the crowd of 222 enjoy their full English breakfast laid on by the home club. Cheddar sprinted in front with goals from Callum Ham and Billy Vaughan to finally win 2-1 against a battling Portishead Town. The Hop moved on to the Athletic Ground for a match which saw Wells City succumb to a 5-2 defeat against Cadbury Heath. Lee Pitman and Daniel Spill were both on target for the home side whilst Matthew Huxley grabbed a hat trick with further goals from Simon McElroy and Sam Bailey sealed the win in front of the 219 crowd. The fourth match back in Division One, moved on to Meadow Lane where a crowd of 233 saw an Ed Wilkins header settle the match for visiting Malmesbury Victoria over hosts Westbury United by 1-0. The evening match took place at Bremhill View which drew 257 spectators and saw Calne Town, helped with goals from Mark Dolman, Neurin Jones and Oliver Webb defeat visiting Corsham Town by 3-2 who had Benjamin Pring score a brace for the Southbank club. The final two matches on the Sunday saw another excellent breakfast laid on by Chard Town at the Denning Sports Field for the Hoppers before the morning kick off against Bishops Lydeard. After a rousing speech over the clubs Public Address System by the Leagues President Brian Beer to the 240 spectators the match got underway. Goals from Joseph Chamberlain, Ashley Phillips and Ryan Brereton helped the visitors to a 3-2 win over their hosts who had both James Boyland and Stephen Friend reply for the home club. (Cader Esoof). : Goals from Anthony Herrin and Kameron Andrews gave Sherborne Town their first league win of the season and lifted the club off the bottom of the table in their 2-0 win away at Brislington. Replacing them is Bitton who went down 0-3 at Homers Heath to Buckland Athletic. Daine O Connor was on target for Clevedon Town who gained a point away at Bradford Town in a 1-1 draw. Bristol Manor Farm are the new leaders with a 2-1 win away at Gillingham Town, Jacob Cox and Dean Stamp both scoring for the visitors who got revenge for their FA Cup defeat earlier in the season. Willand Rovers dropped three vital points as they went down at Silver Street to Melksham Town, a brace from Leigh Rogers and a George Pawley goal earned the visitors a 3-0 victory. Odd Down lost their fourth home match of the season as Cribbs took all the points in a 3-1 win. A handy win for Bridport at Hallen by 3-1 with goals from Mark Salter (2) and Elliot Mann keeps the club clear of the relegation zone. Longwell Green picked up all the points with a 3-2 win at Shellards Road over Shepton Mallet with new signing Tom Fry, Ben Lewis and Liam Oswin all hitting the back of the net. Division One: Josh Hemmings and Craig White were both among the goals as Hengrove Athletic defeated Radstock Town 2-1 at Norton Lane. Wellington kept in the hunt for a promotion place as they won 3-0 at Oldland Abbotonians. A Matthew Peters goal gave Wincanton Town a home 1-0 win over a struggling Almondsbury UWE. An unfortunate own goal helped Roman Glass St George with their 1-0 win over Devizes Town whilst two goals from Malick Jammeh and another from Shakeil Green gave Welton Rovers a 3-2 win over Chippenham Park.
