RefTown Login Instructions www.reftown.com To Athletic Directors, Coaches, Athletic Secretaries and Officials: The Tacoma-Pierce County Volleyball Officials Board is going to be using a new Assigning System and we would like you to log into the system. Right now this system is under the name of the Tacoma-Pierce County Volleyball Officials Board (TPCVOB in the menu far right column). Simply follow the instructions below. Once your matches have been posted by us, you will be notified and asked to go into the system to verify their accuracy as to date, time, opponent and location. Please be aware that right now the system will only accept ONE account per school however it will accept up to three email addresses. The Athletic Director should log in first and include their name, address, home, work, fax, and cell numbers and their email address as the first email address. The coach should then use the AD s same login name and password and enter their email address as the second email address and should post their cell number under the pager location. Athletic Secretaries should then log in and post their email address as the third email address. Eventually each of you will be able to set up your own account but for now this is the method you will need to use. For Athletic Directors, Coaches, & Athletic Secretaries: 1. The name of your Athletic Director and their school email address has already been entered. Use this to retrieve your username and password as described below. 2. Once you receive your password via email (within minutes) use it to log in to REFTOWN. 3. Click My Account in the upper right-hand corner and that is where you will fill in the required information including phone numbers etc. For New Officials: 1. Go to www.reftown.com. 2. Click TPCVOB. 3. Under the Public menu, select Registration. 4. Fill out the form and it will immediately email me that someone has filled out a registration form. And that a Potential Member is waiting to be added. 5. You will be notified via email once you are added and then you will have full access to the system. For Returning Officials: 1. Go to www.reftown.com. 2. Click TPCVOB. 3. Log in with your previous User name and password. 4. Follow the same procedures as indicated above. General Instructions o Each association/sport is fully independent. You may choose to set your passwords and usernames the same in more than one association but you must make the change in each. Scroll down to WIAA Affiliates section in the left-hand margin and click on the third selection called: Officials Association 3. Select On-Line Forms/Texts in the left-hand column near the bottom. 4. Click on Take National Federation test online in the green box at the top. 5. Type in the Board password, which is south63. 6. Choose Select Name and scroll down to your name to bring up the exam and begin. Your exam must be completed by September 10 at the latest. All volleyball leagues will play under National Federation rules (as mandated by WIAA). NAGWS scorebook will be used. 2. Ball: Any official eighteen-panel leather ball. Must be NF approved. 3. Official coin toss to be done before official warm-ups begin. Coin toss will be done by coaches if officials are not present. Coaches will time warm-ups if officials are late. 4. Home team will warm-up first followed by the visiting team. 5. Shared Court Time: There will be no shared court hitting. Any shared court time is strictly for ball handling drills and warm-up procedures. This applies to all leagues unless specifically noted. 6. Linejudges: Coaches will instruct all players about the responsibilities and expectations of being a good linejudge. Coaches will identify what students will be working as linejudges so that when they are called for by officials, there will be no delay in this process. 7. Please note that once the first match of the day is completed, the official warm-ups will begin immediately. Matches are, however, expected to start at the scheduled time. Teams will be provided with 10 minutes of shared court time to warm-up prior to the official warmup time. The shared time is for stretching and ball handling only-no cross court activity. If the visiting team is late in arriving, the 10 minutes of shared time begins immediately when they walk into the gym. a. 5 minutes home team full court. b. 5 minutes visiting team full court. c. 2 minutes on court together for serving. 10. Kent-Tahoma Middle School League (Cedar Heights, Kent, Mattson, Meeker, Meridian, Northwood, Sequoia, Tahoma) a. Start time is 3:45pm. b. Net height is 7 0. c. Format: All matches are best 3/3. Rally score to 25 points with no cap, with rally to 15 points with no cap in third game if necessary.. IF a third tie-breaking game is NOT necessary to determine the winner of a Match, then the third game will be played to 15 points, no cap, under Limited Participation rules, to be overseen by the coaches. d. Libero is permissible. Schools must provide their own libero tracker, if used. e. Let serves are playable. f. Warm-up Time: 1. Officials warm-up time begins 10 minutes after visiting team arrives at school, HOWEVER matches are expected to start at the scheduled time.
