Dairy Cattle CHIEF STEWARD: MR Robin Faulkner GENERAL CONDITIONS & RULES MILK CLASSES Milk classes will be judged before being milked, and exhibitors must be prepared to milk their Cows out if requested to do so by the Judge. This rules does not apply to the All Breeds Section - To the extent that the Judge cannot require stock in this Section (All Breeds) to be milked out NOTE: "ALL ANIMALS ENTERED IN MILK CLASSES - PRODUCTION FIGURES MUST BE ACHIEVED BY THE EXHIBITOR" ALL BULLS Yearling bulls must be rung and adequately controlled in the ring LATE ENTRIES No exhibitor will be allowed to compete unless entered at declared time of closing of entries and Duly catalogued Full particulars must be sent in time for cataloguing TB TESTING RAS RULE For animals from Declared Movement Control Areas:- 1. All Show animals over the age of 90 days are to be tested, and have a clear test, within 60 Days prior to being moved to the Show For animals from C10 status herds in Surveillance Areas 2. No test is required but a clearly dated test allocation form or other documentation from the Animal Health Board must be submitted that shows the herd is not overdue for a whole herd test. For animals from all other herds and areas 3. If the herd has a C3 status or better, no test is required PROVIDED the last whole herd test was Within 12 months prior to the Show. A) If the last whole herd test was not within 12 months of the Show, then Show cattle over one year Old MUST have a clear Test within the current Show season b) If the herd has a status of C1 or C2, then Show cattle over one year old MUST have a clear test Within the current Show season. RAS RULE 57 The following practices are banned from the Dairy Cattle section of all A & P Shows a) The administration of any drug to enhance the appearance of the animal b) The infusion of any substance to the mammary system to alter the outward appearance of the Udder or milk veins c) The use of artificial practices to affect the udder shape, teat angle or teat placement JUDGING TIMES All Stock for Exhibition must be in its proper place and ready for Judging by 9.00am on Saturday And Sunday FEED Bailage will be available from midday Friday. Sawdust only provided in stalls. No straw allowed. PRIZE MONEY Dry 1st $15 2nd $10 3rd $5 unless otherwise stated. In milk classes 1 st $25, 2 nd $10, 3 rd $5 We are still working on class sponsorship for the Dairy Cattle Section, prize money will be confirmed in the catalogue (will only rise and not go down). Exhibitor to enter animal of their choice then to be asked to change animals by random draw. * To be judged by nominated breed judges. The adjudicating Judges will operate from outside the ring. A ring steward will assist the Ring Judge so as competitors reaction to their instructions can be gauged. Judges decision to be final. * Points 1st 5pts, 2nd, 4pts, 3rd 3 pts, 4th 2pts, 5th 1pt. The Western District Council points to be awarded in accordance with placing on the day e.g. District place getter may be 3rd is awarded 3 points for 3rd not 5 as for 1st placing. In the event of a tie points to be added together and halved. * In the event of the final placing being a tie, the exhibitor with the highest placings will be deemed the winner.
