District 27-6A Swimming and Diving Championships Championship Format, i.e. Preliminaries and Finals Date: Diving Prelims and Finals: Saturday, January 19, 2019 Swimming: Friday-Saturday, January 25-26, 2019 District Alignments: Venue: District 27-6A Schools Brandeis, Clark, Health Careers, Holmes, Jay, Marshall NISD George Block Aquatic Complex 7001 Culebra Road San Antonio, TX 78238 210-397-7500 Entry deadline: 12:00 NOON, Tuesday, January 15, 2019 No exceptions and no late entries Facility: Water Depth: Rules: Eight-lane 25 yard racing course The course has been professionally certified IAW 104.2.2(C) and data are on file with USA Swimming COLORADO automatic starting and timing 11 lanes in the shallow pool running widths (20 yards) will be available for warm-up/warm-down during the meet Spectators and non-participating athletes seating will be in the designated section on the competition end of the facility. Two (2) One Meter Diving Board The pool measured from the start end is 12 feet and from the turn end is 7 feet 6 inches both measured at one and five-meters from either end wall in accordance with Article 103.2.3. Except as may be noted elsewhere, the 2018 2019 National Federation Swimming & Diving Rules will apply. Championship format, i.e. Preliminaries and Finals A Meet Committee of five (5), appointed by the Meet Director (two officials, two coaches and one athlete), will be the final authority on issues referred to it under authority of the Federation Rules The Federation Whistle Start Procedure will be in use at this meet The Federation No Recall false start protocol will be in use at this meet Deck Changing: Changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms, or other designated areas, is not appropriate and is not allowed. Violators are subject to disqualification from the meet. Northside ISD Swim Suit Policy : Any and all suits shall be of one piece and made with no zippers or other fastening system in the Northside ISD Aquatic Complex (two-piece and tie-back suits are prohibited). Cell Phone Restrictions: The presence or use of cell phones, smart phones or any other devices capable of producing audio recordings, photographic or video images in locker rooms, restrooms or changing areas is strictly and specifically prohibited at all times There are no exceptions to this policy Violators are subject to disqualification from the meet, disbarment from the facility, and arrest 1
Swimmer Photographs And Videos: Each school is allowed one (1) photographers/videographers on deck during competition and they must wear their school press credentials. Only credentialed photographers will be allowed on the competition deck. Northside ISD cashiers will issue (with proper ID) a media pass for the schools or media. In the event such personnel are present, parents or guardians of swimmers under the age of 18 who do not wish to have photos or videos of their athletes made, are required to contact the Meet Director prior to the beginning of warm-ups. Photographers and videographers are strongly encouraged to stay out of the area immediately behind the starting blocks, but if present, are specifically prohibited from making shots during the start phase of any race. Format: Order of events on page five (5) Championship Meet: Preliminaries Friday, January 25 th with a fastest eight (8) of each event advancing to Finals. Finals Saturday, January 26 th. Diving will take place Saturday, January 19 th, at. A break will be taken only at the points noted in the Order of Events on page five (5). Restrictions: Relays: National Time Verification: Each athlete may enter four (4) events, no more than two (2) of which may be individual events No school may enter more than four (4) athletes in any single event Each school is limited to one (1) relay team per event Only the four (4) swimmers declared on the front of the relay card are permitted to report to the blocks and compete Teams can list up to four alternates on the back of the card. If the swimmers are to be correctly noted in the Finals Results, the order of swimming must also be specified Relay cards for the 200-yard Medley Relay must be turned in to the Official Scorer not later than 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the preliminary or finals session Relay cards for the 200-yard Free Relay must be turned in to the Official Scorer not later than the start of the men s 500-yard freestyle (Event #16) Relay cards for the 400-yard Free Relay must be turned in to the Official Scorer not later than the start of the men s 100-yard backstroke (Event # 20) Once relay cards have been turned in to the Official Scorer, no changes will be permitted and post-meet corrections cannot be made except for illness and injury This meet will be Approved for Observation by USA Swimming for NTV purposes Times achieved by swimmers who are currently and properly registered with USA Swimming, have an accurate and complete USA Swimming ID Number in the Meet Manager Database and conform to the Technical Rules will be loaded in to the SWIMS Database Observation of all events involving the backstroke, butterfly and breaststroke, including lead-off splits in the medley relays, will be accomplished by exception and stroke violations reported to the NTV official on deck No other action in this regard will be required of either coaches or athletes If required, additional information will be provided at the coaches meeting However, coaches/athletes must ensure swimmer s complete, accurate and valid USA Swimming ID Numbers and Names are in the Meet Manager Database prior to the conclusion of the meet if loading of times into the USA Swimming SWIMS Database is desired Requests for SWIMS uploads which are received more than fourteen (14) days after the conclusion of this meet; will incur a fee of $25.00 per time uploaded Entry Deadline: NO LATER THAN 12:00 PM (Noon), Tuesday, January 15, 2019 Diving entries must be submitted via cleanentries.com by 12:00 PM (Noon), Tuesday, January 15, 2019 All divers must be entered on the teams HYV entry file to be entered in the meet.
