The 2018-2019 National Federation Swimming and Diving Rules will govern this meet The presence and / or use of cell phones, and / or any other equipment capable of producing audio recordings, photographic or video images in locker rooms, rest rooms, changing areas or anywhere behind the starting blocksis strictly and specifically prohibited at all times There are no exceptions to these prohibitions Violators are subject to disqualification from the meet, disbarment from the facility and arrest Spectator Clear Bag Policy: Please review the graphic on page four (4) 1

Facility Rules, Regulations and Policies: Swimmer Photographs And Videos: Media Deck Access: Format: Entry Deadline: Entry Restrictions: Relays: Deck changing is prohibited Two-piece swim wear is prohibited The presence of cell phones, smart phones, ipads, etc. anywhere behind the starting blocks is prohibited at all times during competition Violators are subject to having their devices temporarily confiscated Photographers and videographers are specifically prohibited from the area immediately behind the starting blocks during competition and may not use flash during the start phase of any race. Parents and other spectators are not permitted on-deck at any time for any reason Flash photography of any sort is expressly forbidden during competition Standing in front of and / or leaning against the glass rails is expressly forbidden Filming is permitted only from the blue-rail areas Times noted on the scoreboard are never official and must not ever be regarded as such All swimmers and divers are required to wear their approved uniforms and warm-ups Hats, body or face painting, costumes, and / or props will not be allowed Organized cheers by school s teams will be allowed on deck in front of the designated seating area for each school All spirit groups and Team Mascots must stay in the spectator area and will not be allowed on deck Athletes and / or teams that violate these rules will be subject to disciplinary actions that could include disqualification from the competition. There may be one or more photographers and / or videographers on deck at this meet. Each participating school is allowed two photographers / videographers on deck during competition. In the event such personnel are present, parents or guardians of swimmers under the age of 18 who do not wish to have photos or videos of their athletes made, are required to contact the Meet Director prior to the beginning of warm-ups. Photographers and videographers are prohibited from the area immediately behind the starting blocks, andare also specifically prohibited from taking shots using flash during the start phase of any race. Access to the deck by the media is carefully controlled and members must pick up the necessary credentials from the front office at the Davis Natatorium A signature will be required and the credentials must be returned to the front office on departure Championship with a single heat of each event advancing to finals Nominal 45 seconds between races in preliminaries 15-minute break after the men s 50-yard and 500-yard freestyles in preliminaries and finals 10-minute breaks after the men s 200-yard medley relays and 100-yard breaststrokes in both preliminaries and finals Nominal 80 seconds between races in finals Women s diving break in finals after the 50-yard freestyles and the men s diving break after the 500-yard freestyles 12-noon, Tuesday, January 22, 2019 (No exceptions!) No late and / or deck entries will be permitted Each swimmer may enter four events, no more than two of which may be individual events No school may enter more than four swimmers in any single individual event Each school is limited to one relay team per relay event Any event having eight (8) or fewer entries will be regarded as an automatic final and not contested in preliminaries Only the four (4) swimmers declared on the front of the relay card are permitted to report to the blocks and compete. If the swimmers are to be correctly noted in the Final Results, the order of swimming must also be specified. Relay cards for the 200-yard Medley Relay must be turned in to the Official Scorer not later than thirty (30) minutes prior to the scheduled start of the preliminary or finals session. Relay cards for the 200-yard Free Relay must be turned in to the Official Scorer not later than the start of the men s 500-yard freestyle. Relay cards for the 400-yard Free Relay must be turned in to the Official Scorer not later than the start of the men s 100-yard backstroke. Once relay cards have been turned in to the Official Scorer, no changes will be permitted and post-meet corrections cannot be made, illness and injury excepted. 2

National Time Verification: Entry Procedures Scratch Rules: Alternates: Diving: This meet has been approved by USA Swimming for NTV purposes, which means times achieved by properly registered and entered USA Swimming athletes can be loaded into the SWIMS National Database In order for a time from a high school championship or season culminating meet to be entered into the USA Swimming (USA-S) National SWIMS Database, the athlete must be currently (2019) registered with USA-S AND the athlete s USA Swimming ID Number and legal name must be completely and accurately entered into the District 26-6A Championship Meet Manager Database If done correctly, No further action by either the coach or the athlete is necessary ALL swims involving the backstroke, butterfly and breaststroke will be observed by USA Swimming Certified Officials and exceptions to the technical rules will be noted to the NTV Officer on deck Entries may be submitted ONLY by Hy-Tek Commlink file Hard copy must accompany Each entry must include the swimmer s full name, swimmers school affiliation, grade, and a seedtime Entries received without a seedtime will be rejected Submit entries to: David L. Johnson, Josh Davis Natatorium, 12002 Jones-Maltsberger Road, San Antonio, TX 78216-2917 E-mail address: djohns1@neisd.net High School Championship format Scratches are not permitted Swimmers who fail to appear for any competition which they have entered or for which they have qualified, will be disqualified from further competition Previous performances will not be nullified Failures to compete by reason of illness or injury are excepted as are alternates An individual swimmer or relay team may withdraw from competition without penalty in any given event by declaring a false start to the Meet Referee A Declared False Start does count as an event Swimmers who qualify as alternates for final events and wish to compete should no shows occur, must be within an area previously designated by the Meet Referee and be immediately available Immediately is defined as being properly attired, on the block and ready to swim within 30 seconds of being called National Federation Rules will apply 11-dive format One-meter board only Five (5) voluntary dives and six (6) optional dives must be performed All divers must be entered with their high school team via Hy-Tek Commlink AND completed diving sheets via www.cleanentries.com by 1200, Tuesday, January 23, 2018 ALL DIVERS MUST BE ENTERED INTO BOTH HY-TEK AND CLEANENTRIES IN ORDER TO COMPETE IN THIS MEET THERE CAN BE NO EXCEPTIONS!
