EAST FORK TREASURE HUNTERS ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER 2016 ABOUT OUR CLUB: Founded in 2005, we are a family friendly, fun-seeking group of folks that enjoy the hobby of metal detecting, searching for lost coins, jewelry, or other treasures that are surely out there. We help clean up parks and responsibly recover items following our digging ethics. Typically we meet on the first Thursday of every month and our meetings are open to the public. We would love to have you as a member or would just welcome your friendly visit. Lost something and need our help finding it? Visit our website or email us at eastforktreasure@gmail.com. Our club Newsletter helps keep our members informed about the activities and adventures of our metal detecting club. We welcome your visit! Our next club meeting will be on Thursday, NOVEMBER 3rd at the gymnasium inside the New World United Methodist Church, 5134 Northwest Highway, Garland, TX 75043, from 7 9 pm. Look for the EFTHA sign! FUN AT THE OCTOBER SEEDED HUNT Wow, what a fun time everyone had at the EFTHA October Seeded Hunt! It was especially exciting for me when I found a 10K gold pendant during the "Copper Hunt" (not part of the hunt). Also, Bill A found a nice piece of jewelry too! The lunch was great and everyone ate good! The afternoon Main hunt went well also. Almost all of the painted pennies were found. Lucky winner of the Garrett Ace 300 was David Swadley. The weather was just wonderful and all had a great time! Thanks to Huntmasters Bill and Mary and Jim and all who helped pull this together. See you at the next one! Bill A found this nice piece of jewelry! Terry R found one of the seeded 40% halves. Lucky hunter Steve D found this nice 10K necklace! Lucky hunter David S won this nice Garrett Ace 300 metal detector! www.eastforktreasurehunters.com eastforktreasure@gmail.com Page 2 of 5 LUCKY WINNERS FROM THE LAST MEETING!

ANDREW, THE "EARLY" YEARS OF DETECTING At the October meeting, Andrew P talked about his early detecting days of metal detecting in Oklahoma with his dad where he found an old building and a few nice finds. He decided to return to hunt it more later on, but when he did he discovered that it had been leveled! The lesson for us is to not pass up the opportunity to hunt when you can right away, because you never know. If you have a story to share as well, let us know about it and you can tell us about your finds too! Thanks Andrew for the great stories! EFTHA OFFICER NOMINEES: At the November meeting, the club will be electing new officers. The nominees are: Earl H for President, Andrew P for Vice President, Mary P for Treasurer, and Rheia D for Secretary. For the volunteers, Andretta will continue on as FOM coordinator, Bill A will continue on as Huntmaster, Steve D will continue on as Newsletter writer, and John W will continue on as webmaster. We are looking for someone to help out as Refreshment coordinator please. We'd like to thank those who stepped up for these important roles in the club.
