The seminar was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Youth and Sport and the Operation managers of the Games Mr. Azad Rahimov. The seminar was also attended by the delegation of the Secretary General of I.S.S.F. presided by Mr. Faisal Bin Abdulaziz Al-Nassar, Secretary General of I.S.S.F. and representatives of 50 Islamic Countries. The meeting has reviewed the preparations accomplished by the Organizing Committee of the Games(i.e. the Stadium and Gyms of the competitions, the Timetable of the Games, the transportation, TV Broadcasting, volunteers, the opening and closing ceremonies, the entry visas and the accreditation cards of Games). Individual meetings were also held with the representatives of NOCs to discuss the latest updates of participations such as the final number of participants and sports involved. It is worthy to mention, however, that site visits were arranged to the sport facilities of the Games during sessions of said meetings. Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation P a g e 2
The 4 th Workshop meeting Of the Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games The 4 th Workshops meeting was held in Baku, Azerbaijan on December 7, 2016 between the General Secretariat of ISSF and the Organizing Committee of the 4 th Islamic Solidarity Games of Baku 2017. During the meeting in Baku, results of the ANOK meeting attended earlier by both the Organizing Committee of Baku Islamic Solidarity Games and the General Secretariat of ISSF in Doha, were discussed. Other topics of importance discussed during the meeting in Baku, were (sending the Invitations Letters to all Presidents of the Governments and International Organizations to attend the Games in Baku and the attendance of HRH the president of I.S.S.F. to the unofficial launching of the Games scheduled on March 30, 2017. Issues of supporting some countries and the mechanism of accomplishing such support, attitudes of some countries in regard to the participation in the sports enlisted in the activity program of the Games, following up with the responses received from the International Sport Federations, and reviewing the technical regulations of the Games as well as the medal designs of the Games and the Chefs de Mission Seminar, were also discussed in the meeting. The 2 nd Coordination Meeting to submit the file of organizing the 5 th Islamic Solidarity Games in 2021 The 2 nd coordination meeting was held between the I.S.S.F. and officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sport and officials from the NOC of Turkey. The meeting was held on 22-23 December, 2016 to submit the file of hosting the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games in 2021. The I.S.S.F. delegation to the meeting was presided by Mr. Faisal Bin Abdulaziz Al- Nassar, Secretary General of I.S.S.F. The delegation of I.S.S.F. has included the following members (Mr. Saeed Abdulghaffar, deputy Secretary General, Mr. Khalid A. Bin Al Shaykh, General Manager, Mr. Ashraf Sayed Abdullatif, official in charge of the Technical affairs and Mr. Lanny Galikuwa). From the Turkish side, there was Mr. Faruk Ozcelik, Undersecretary of Turkish Youth and Sport Ministry, Mr. Kamuran Ozden, Deputy Undersecretary of Turkish Youth and Sport Ministry, Mr. Nihat Usta, Turkish Olympic Committee Vice President and Ms. Nese Gundogan, Secretary General of the Turkish Olympic Committee. In the meeting Mr. Ozcelik, welcomed and thanked the I.S.S.F. delegation for their visit to Istanbul and confirmed the distinguished attention of His Excellency the Minister of Youth and Sport in Turkey (i.e. on behalf of the Government of Turkey) to host this important event in 2021 in Turkey and highly emphasized the importance of urging all Islamic Countries to take part in the Games. Mr. Al-Nassar thanked Mr. Ozcelik and conveyed the greetings of HRH Prince Abdullah Bin Mosaad Bin Abdulaziz and expressed high appreciation and thanks to the Initiative of Turkey, represented by the Ministry of Youth and Sport and the NOC of Turkey for their interest to host the Games and praised the standards of sport facilities that he and the I.S.S.F. delegation members have visited. He also praised the role of the Government of Turkey to promote sport in its country. It is worthy mention that among other facilities that the ISSF delegation has visited in Istanbul, were (the Olympic Stadium, the Football stadiums, the indoor facilities of Volleyball as well as the Swimming pools). The ISSF International Archery Championships 2017 Dhaka Bangladesh In cooperation with the NOC committee if Bangladesh and Bangladesh Archery Federation, the ISSF is going to organize International Archery Championships 2017 in Dhaka, Bangladesh during the period 26-31 January, 2017. Official invitation has already been extended to all NOC members and the anticipated Number of participating countries is exceeding 15 countries. Mr. Kazi Chapol the ISSF Council Member and Secretary General of Bangladesh Archery Federation stated that some friendly countries, from outside the I.S.S.F. will be invited to take part in the championships in Dhaka to enable exchanging of experience in this field.
