Level 4 Meet Welcome to the 2017 Aylesbury & District Swimming Club Championships. Age Groups are: 7 & Under, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13-14, 15-16, 17 24, 25 34, 35 and Over. Age is the swimmers age as at midnight 31 December 2017 for all events that score points in the age group awards. Events 107,108,113,114,115,116,121,122,127 & 128 are designated as MASTER events. There are a few exceptions: 9 year old swimmers can compete in either a 25m event or a 50m event (but not both). Only the 50m races will score points for age group awards 25 & Over Masters can compete in 100m events and 200 IM but these additional races will not contribute to the age group awards Medals will be awarded to the swimmers finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each event in each age group. Event trophies are awarded for the events underlined in the table below. Age Group Trophies Points System 6 points are awarded for 1st, 5 for 2nd, 4 for 3rd, 3 for 4th, 2 for 5th and 1 for 6th The more events you swim, the more points you get towards your overall total. Swimmers are seeded in each event according to their times This means that the heat in which they take part will have swimmers of similar ability not age Winning a heat does not necessarily mean first position in the age group. The results of each age group will not be available until all heats have been completed. There will be a small award for the winners in each heat. Swimmers All swimmers are required to register for each session by the closing times detailed below; any swimmer not registered by the deadline will automatically be withdrawn. During the sessions you must remain on poolside and sit in the Swimmers Only seating areas to ensure you do not miss your events or presentations. Please wear your club t-shirt when waiting for your swims. Drink plenty of water/hypotonic drinks throughout the afternoon. Eat small amounts of fruit or cereal bars to top up energy levels. The competition will be held under ASA Laws and ASA Technical Rules of Swimming. This event is to be licensed at Level 4. a. Competitors must be ASA registered swimmers. They must also be fully paid up members of the club at the time of the competition and are permitted to enter only events for which they are eligible. 2. LENGTH OF POOL a. The Pool is 25 metres long and eight lanes. b. Anti-turbulence wave lane ropes will be used. 3. AGE GROUPS a. Age groups are 7 & Under, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13-14, 15-16, 17 24, 25 34, 35 and Over. b. Age is the swimmers age as at midnight 31 December 2017 for all events that score points in the age group awards. c. Events 107,108,113,114,115,116,121,122,127 & 128 are designated as MASTER events. 4. ENTRY TIMES a. Will be taken from Swim Manager if available or NT will be used. b. All events will be seeded on submitted times and each event will be swum on a HDW basis. c. This meet will be swum as a card less meet. On arrival you must sign in for the events you will be swimming. Sign in will close at the start of the warm-up. d. Entries must be submitted no later than 31st October 2017 5. WARM UP a. Warm up details are as noted below. Warm up procedures will be listed at either end of the pool. Diving is only permitted in designated sprint lanes. 6. MARSHALLING a. Swimmers are required to report for their race to the marshals in the designated area 7. AWARDS a. Individual Awards will be made to the top 3 swimmers in each age group for each event. b. Medals will be presented to these top 3 swimmers during the session. c. The fastest 6 swimmers in each event will be awarded points towards the Top Boy and Top Girl trophies in each age group. 8. START a. To maintain the schedule timings of events, all starts will be over the top except for backstroke races and by exception. 9. MEET RESULTS a. Will be posted on the website within 48 hours of the meet final day closing. Results will also be passed to the ASA for inclusion in rankings. 10. HEALTH AND SAFETY a. No outdoors shoes to be worn poolside. b. If you are unable to execute a competent racing dive, do not use the starting blocks at any time during this meet. A competent racing dive is defined as in the ASA Competitive Start award; each swimmer is required to hold one of these. It is the Coach and/or Team Manager s responsibility to ensure that this is the case for all swimmers intending to execute a racing dive. No swimmer should topple into the water in the event of a false start - a proper shallow dive must be performed. It is the responsibility of the swimmer and/or parent to declare to the referee any disability or medical condition that could present a health or safety risk. If such a disability or medical condition exists swimmers must produce a medical certificate confirming that their participation presents no health or safety problems.
11. DATA PROTECTION a. Entries and results for this meet will be held on computer. As required by the Data Protection Act 1998, submission of entries implies consent to the holding of personal information on computer. These details may be made public before, during or after the meet. 12. CAMERA USE a. For the safety and wellbeing of all our swimmers, the use of all photographic equipment, including mobile camera phones or tablet devices, is not allowed. There will be an official photographer with the required DBS clearance taking pictures and these will be available after the meet. 13. GENERAL a. The decision of the referee on all aspects of the meet is final. Matters other than those under the control of the referee, not covered by these conditions, shall be decided upon and resolved by the promoter. b. Appeals, any appeals must be submitted in accordance with FINA procedure s the appointment of a Jury of Appeal is at the discretion of the promoter. 14. APPEALS Any appeals must be submitted in accordance with FINA procedures and will be resolved by the referee (Oliver Stockland - Aylesbury). By entering this event, competitors agree to abide by the above described conditions.
