Afternoon Family Skate - Families are welcome to join us for an afternoon family skate at Queen Elizabeth Park Oval! We will have a bonfire, hot chocolate and skates available for use. Saturday February 2 nd from 2-4pm at the Queen Elizabeth Park Oval 3 vs. 3 Hockey Tournament - February 16 th at Leger Park for ages 7-12. Wacky Races Bring your wacky racer and race other children for a chance to win a prize!!! The event is FREE for children of all ages and abilities. Fat Biking???... Say what!?... You've likely seen them on trails or bike paths, bikes equipped with massive tires that look like you could ride up a mountain. Most cyclists ride them in snowy conditions or sand and while they may look large, Fat bikes float on surfaces where normal mountain bike or road tires would sink. If you live somewhere with snow on the ground, a fat bike can keep you in great riding shape all winter long. The options for exercise during the Canadian winter can seem grim at times but there are so many great options! One of those activities Cross-Country skiing might be exactly what you have been looking for. Recent research suggests that cross-country skiers have approximately twice the cardiovascular and muscular fitness of the general public. So the question is: When it snows, why not make it out to the cross-country ski trails?
