The course details // Python Road Race 15.08.10 The race // Python Road Race 15.08.10 To Maidenhead A330 DRIFT ROAD Maidens Green To Fifield Winkfield Finish Cranbourne B3022 To Windsor B3022 B383 The race will be neutralised from the HQ to the circuit proper. Riders should assemble behind the lead cars and when instructed proceed through Holyport Green to the A330 Bracknell Road. The race will continue in neutralised formation for approximately two miles until reaching and crossing the roundabout at Hawthorn Hill (marshalled). This is the start of the circuit proper and the race will be deneutralised shortly afterwards. The route continues on the A330 through Maidens Green crossroads and Winkfield until reaching Cranbourne where the road becomes the B3022. The lap board will be located by Crouch Lane in Cranbourne and will read NINE laps to go at the race s first passage. Proceed to the far end of Cranbourne where turn left onto Drift Road (marshalled). The race carries on along the entire length of Drift Road to the roundabout at Hawthorn Hill where riders should turn left onto the A330 to complete the circuit. Lap distance is approximately nine miles. On the completion of nine laps at the lap board in Cranbourne, riders should turn into Crouch Lane. The finish will be located approximately 400 yards along Crouch Lane. There are wide grass verges adjoining the finish area and spectators are requested to park with consideration for the riders, race judges and other road users. NO PARKING TO TAKE PLACE ON THE ROAD ITSELF ALONG CROUCH LANE To return to the HQ from the finish area, riders should continue to the end of Crouch Lane and turn right into Winkfield Lane to re-join Drift Road. Continue along Drift Road for about a mile and take the signposted turn for Fifield. Turn left at Fifield crossroads and stay on this road for 1.5 miles and take a right for Moneyrow Green at an island junction. The HQ is located on the left-hand side after a short distance. After leaving the motorway take the A308 (M) signposted exit in the direction of Windsor and Maidenhead. On reaching a roundabout take the 4th exit, the A330 Bracknell road, and continue crossing the M4 to Holyport Green where turn left and first right into Moneyrow Green Road. The HQ is located a few hundred yards along here on the right-hand side. There is ample parking available in the car park immediately outside the HQ but should it also be necessary to park along the road then please do so on the hall side only. Any parking across residents' driveways must be avoided. Python Racing Team would like to acknowledge Thames Valley Police for their co-operation in staging this event. Helpers must not interfere with the passage of the race or of other road traffic when feeding their riders. Feeding to be carried out from left hand side only. We shall have race service available on the day courtesy Grant Phillips. Riders are requested to supply spare wheels to the service vehicle at the HQ ahead of the race start. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE POSSIBILITY OF ENCOUNTERING HORSES ON THE CIRCUIT. The area surrounding the circuit is popular with horseriders and whilst every effort has been taken to contact riding yards and raise awareness of the event taking place, competitors should nevertheless be prepared to exercise caution should they encounter any horses during the course of the event. An approved cycle helmet must be worn no helmet = no ride. Signing on for the event closes at 9:10 am. The organiser reserves the right to charge for a day licence should a competitor be unable to produce a current British Cycling racing licence.
