ITF SCORER ONLINE TRAINING SETUP Guidelines for Officials Version 1.2
INTRODUCTION The ITF s Live Scoring System uses handheld wireless electronic devices (smartphone handsets), operated by Chair Umpires, to record all match scores and events in a custom-built software application (app) called ITF Scorer. In preparation for using ITF Scorer at ITF Pro Circuit tournaments, Chair Umpires can learn, train and practice using ITF Scorer with an online tool called an emulator. The online emulator replicates the scoring application on a website, allowing Chair Umpires to use it without needing access to an actual Live Scoring device. The following steps explain how to install and use the emulator (for detailed instructions about how to use the ITF Scorer, please refer to ITF Scorer User Manual ). PRE-SETUP REQUIREMENTS 1. Use of a PC or an Apple MAC computer or laptop 2. Working internet connection 3. Internet Browser The emulator will work well with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome browsers. Please note that it might not work properly with some other browsers. 4. ITF Scorer Application.zip - Download the file containing the latest version of ITF Scorer from the ITF Officiating Portal (https://officiating.itftennis.com/en/resources/chair- Umpire/Pages/Live-Scoring-training.aspx). Save the whole file to a convenient location (e.g. desktop). Do not unzip the contents of the zip file. 5. An active email address (for registering to use the emulator)
SETUP GUIDE 1. Open Google Chrome and type in the following web address: www.manymo.com 2. Create a free account by clicking Sign Up (top right of screen) and entering your details (below). 3. Manymo will send an email to the address you have entered requesting that you validate your Manymo account. Sign-in to your email and click on the validation link. This will return you to the Manymo login screen. 4. Log-in to Manymo using your chosen login details. 5. Select Launch An App With The Emulator.
6. Select Upload an App. 7. Click Browse and select the ITF Scorer Application.zip file from the location you saved it at (you do not need to access the contents of the zip file). Click Continue. 8. You should now see a box containing a summary of ITF Scorer. Click Continue to run the app. 9. The emulator size options will be displayed. Scroll down and select either the 480x854 (240dpi) or 240x432 (120dpi) options (depending on your screen size); larger options may affect performance of the app and may not show all the app s features on your screen. 320x480 (160dpi) and 240x320 (120dpi) options will NOT display the entire screen of the application.
10. ITF Scorer will load automatically. Select Demo Login to begin using the application in a test environment (please note that the log-in details you registered with Manymo are NOT the same as the log-in details for the Application. Actual Username and Password are specific to each tournament and will be provided to the Supervisor prior to the start of the tournament) 11. For detailed instructions on using the application, please refer to the User Manual. NOTES The actual handheld electronic devices are operated by using a touchscreen (i.e. the application is controlled by touching the screen with a fingertip or a stylus). In the emulator, the same choices are performed using a mouse or touchpad. Features that can be reset/amended on the handheld devices by holding a finger down on the feature (e.g. resetting the stopwatch or ball change) can be reset in the emulator by clicking on the feature and holding the left mouse button down for longer period. Buttons located at the bottom of a regular handheld device (a.), e.g. the back button (circled below), can be found on the right hand side of the emulator screen (b.):
a. Handheld device b. Emulator If you are idle for more than 10 minutes whilst using the emulator, your session will automatically time out. Click on Re-launch emulator to resume your session. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact the Live Scoring team at LiveScoring@itftennis.com.
