Daily Announcements April 9 th, 2015 Athletics GHS Football Boosters Golf Tournament April 26 The Georgetown High School Football Booster Club is sponsoring a Golf Tournament on Sunday, April 26 th, at the Cowan Creek Golf Course in Sun City. All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the GHS football program. Sponsorships are being accepted until April 17 th, and players and teams can register all the way up to the day of the event. For tournament details, including entry fees and sponsorship opportunities please see the attached flyer. For further information, contact georgetownfootball@gmail.com. Cafeteria News Students and Faculty it is time to start thinking about paying any charges you may have in your Eagle Cafeteria. There will be no charging allowed in the month of May so all charges will need to be paid in full by May 1st. Class of 2015 Herff Jones will be on campus on Thursday May 7 th, to deliver caps and gowns. They will be set up in the GHS cafeteria during all lunches.

Drivers Education The next class for Drivers Education will start on April 20 th, this will be an afternoon only class. Eagle Happenings Colorguard The GHS Colorguard will be having a State Send-Off Performance this evening in the GHS Main Gym at 7:00pm. Come on out to see this State Finalist team as we have one final performance for our friends and family before traveling to College Station and the A&M University Reed Arena this Saturday to compete in the Texas Colorguard Circuit State Championships. Over 100 groups from around the state will be competing this weekend, and we would love to give our community one final opportunity to see our 2015 Show entitled Snowblind. Admission is free. If you are interested in possibly becoming a member of the 2015 2016 Colorguard, this would be a GREAT opportunity to come out and see a little of what we do, as well as meet some of the members. Georgettes Auditions If you are interested in trying out for Georgettes please attend one of the information meetings with a parent. Meetings will be on Tuesday April 21 st or Thursday April 23 rd at 6:30 PM in the dance studio. You will receive the audition packet and information about being a Georgette at these meetings! Spring Spectacular

Want to see the Georgettes in action one last time? Come support them in their final performance at the Spring Spectacular "Around the World" May 1 st and 2 nd in the PAC at 7 PM. Students are only $5 with ID. GHS Powder Puff Game Junior and Senior Powder Puff Sign-ups are coming next week during all lunches on Tuesday - Thursday!! Come sign up to play in the Annual Powder Puff game at 6pm on April 22nd at the GHS Practice Field, Seniors vs Juniors! Cost to play or coach is $15, includes a shirt! There are a limited number of shirts available so first come first serve. Must have a shirt to be on the field! Permission slips are required to play. Tickets for the game are $5.00 and will be available for sale at the same time. Permission slips are available on the Project Graduation Facebook Page to download. All proceeds benefit Project Graduation. GHS Talent Show Due to a very small number of participants, the GHS Talent Show has been cancelled. We apologize for this inconvenience. Project Graduation Project Graduation fundraiser at Hat Creek Burgers, on April 14th, from 5-9pm. Come support our 2015 seniors by eating at one of our newest burger restaurants at 201 San Gabriel Village Blvd. Hat Creek Burgers gives back 10% of every receipt placed into the Spirit Bucket. So come on in and show your spirit. See you there. Project Graduation will be meeting on Tuesday, April 14 th at 6:30 in the GHS Cafeteria. We need parents to get involved with the planning, volunteering the night of project graduation and ask that each Senior family make a donation of at least $25.00. We need Senior parents to get involved to make GHS Project Graduation 2015 a success!

Project Graduation Goodwill Drive Sunday, April 19 from 2-4 in the GHS Parking Lot. If we fill the goodwill truck Project Graduation will receive a donation in the amount of $1000.00. Soaring Eagles Golf Girls The Lady Eagle golf team completed round 2 of the District Championship with a third place finish. The competition for second, and a trip to the regional tournament was very close, as Marble Falls edged Georgetown 706-713. Congratulations to Brynna Bunte for placing 6th individually, making first team All-District, and for qualifying for the regional tournament in San Antonio. Please also congratulate Bailey Pehl and Jenna Patel for making second team All-District. Sophomores Cailey Scully and Emma Dooley also competed well for the team. Lacrosse Boys The boys varsity lacrosse team defeated Round Rock for the first time since 2012 last night 9-8. Sophomore Mason Cain and Junior Jake Harris were named offensive and defensive MVPs for the game.

Tennis Congratulations to the varsity tennis team on a great showing at the A&M Consolidated Tiger Classic Tennis Tournament last weekend. As a team, we finished in 6 th place out of 16 teams and the following players had individual accomplishments. Ben Fischer and Karina Calderon: 1 st place Mixed Doubles B Draw. Record 4 and 1 TJ Fischer and Hannah Walden: 5 th place Mixed Doubles A Draw. Record 4 and 1 Lena Arndt: 4 rd place Girls Singles A Draw. Record 3/2 Justus Aarhus: 5 th place Girls Singles A Draw. Record 4/1 Sam Clark: 7 th place Girls Singles A Draw. Record 4/1 Erika Wong and Paige Sheridan / Amber Cornman and Ashley Brooks: 3 rd place Girls Doubles A draw. Records 3/1 Student Trainers Do you like sports? Are you interested in the healthcare field? If so, you may be interested in becoming a member of the student athletic trainer program at Georgetown High School next year. The student trainers work closely with each athletic team at GHS to provide medical coverage at games, practices, and in the training room. As a student trainer you will learn taping and bandaging techniques, emergency care, evaluation of injuries and illnesses, and many other topics in the healthcare field. Applications are now being accepted to become a student trainer for the 2015-2016 school year. You may contact Ms. Mo or Mr. H in the Fieldhouse training room any morning before 8am or immediately after school for more information. Please contact them prior to April 10, 2015.
